Last night (Sat. November 16, 2019) things didn’t go according to plan for Artem Lobov.

The former UFC star battled fellow former UFC 145-pounder Jason “The Kid” Knight in the Bare-Knuckle FC 9 main event. Knight looked great all night, before finally putting Lobov away in the fifth and final round. “The Russian Hammer’s” eye was already swollen shut before the finish.

Now, Lobov’s good friend and teammate, Conor McGregor, has taken to Instagram to offer his reaction to Lobov’s defeat last night. Here’s what “Notorious” had to say.

“Artem Lobov! What a warrior. What a journey this has been mate. What a journey this is!

“You blow me away bro, from the world tours to the ultimate fighter to this! You deserve the world and more my brother! Congrats on another amazing fight! What a story!
Brothers for life mate. Congrats to Jason Knight. Amazing warrior. Great fight. say.”

Now, Lobov and Knight are one apiece in their BKFC careers. Last night’s main event was a rematch from their initial fight in April of last year. Lobov took the first meeting via decision. Now, with Knight’s TKO win, both men have verbally agreed to a rematch down the road. It’ll be interesting to see how soon a trilogy develops.

The rematch between Artem Lobov and Jason Knight is in the books. Earlier today (Sat. November 16, 2019), the pair rematched inside the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Both men main evented the Bare-Knuckle FC 9 card, going five rounds. In the fifth and final round, Knight, who looked phenomenal all night with his boxing, was able to put things away with a left hook. Now, the series between Knight and Lobov stands at 1-1, with Lobov having a decision win over “Hick Diaz” from April of last year.

After the fight, both men agreed that a trilogy fight is in order, but Lobov said he needs to take some time and speak with BKFC brass to determine what’s next for him. As for Knight, he was called out by former UFC foe Jim Alers.

Artem Lobov and Jason Knight’s first bare knuckle fight at BKFC 5 was a huge success. And they will now be running things back again.

The promotion today announced that the pair would rematch in the main event of BKFC 9 which takes place November 16 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi. Like the first bout, it will take place with a 146-pound limit.

Lobov, of course, won the first fight in April earlier this year via unanimous decision in a close back-and-forth encounter. The two have teased a rematch since.

“The Russian Hammer” would take part in bare knuckle action again when he outpointed former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi in a grudge match at BKFC 6 in June. Knight, meanwhile, was supposed to face fellow UFC veteran Leonard Garcia at BKFC 7. However, he had to pull out through injury.

More fights and updates regarding BKFC 9 are expected in the coming weeks.
