Muay Thai legend Buakaw has the desire to fight Conor McGregor in bare-knuckle. BKFC Asia CEO Nick Chapman says they have the money to make it happen. The question is, does the Irishman have the balls to sign on the dotted line?

That was the subject of a recent conversation between Chapman and The AllStar’s John Hyon Ko.

Fans have been clamoring to see Conor McGregor drop the four-ounce gloves and toe the line under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship banner ever since he stepped inside the squared circle at BKFC 41 for a face-off with reigning ‘King of Violence’ Mike Perry.

Buakaw, who made his second appearance for the promotion in November, scored an impressive win over fellow Thai icon Saenchai and BKFC Asia 5. Shortly after, he called for a clash with Conor McGregor and attempted to goad the former UFC champ by suggesting that he “doesn’t have the balls” to fight in him in bare knuckle.

Nick Chapman echoed similar sentiments while discussing the potential showdown.

“We asked him the same question the media asked him,” Chapman said. “If you could fight anyone in bare-knuckle Thai, who would it be? He said, ‘My ultimate fight would be Conor McGregor, but he also doesn’t think Conor McGregor has the balls to fight in bare-knuckle Thai because he’d chew him up and he absolutely means it.

“Once he released the article, it went viral and crazy, especially around the Thai media, but would McGregor really do it? I don’t think so. I think he’d bottle it. He has been to our events and he has said that he would hopefully fight bare-knuckle. My question is, would McGregor fight Buakawa in bare-knuckle Thai? That’s the question. I don’t think he would. He’d probably come up with an excuse like, ‘Eh, you couldn’t pay me enough.’ We have backers in the Middle East that might disagree with you.”

The biggest obstacle would be McGregor’s current contract with the UFC. The Irishman is currently gearing up for a long-awaited return to the Octagon in 2024.

Even if the two companies were able to work out a temporary truce, Chapman isn’t so sure McGregor would seize the opportunity.

BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry has his sights set on a scrap with a man who knows something about bare-knuckle brawling; Jorge Masvidal.

The newly crowned ‘King of Violence’ is riding high following his fourth-straight win inside the squared circle at BKFC 56. Once again stepping under the main event spotlight, Perry scored a second-round TKO over former Bellator and UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. After two high-octane rounds of action, ‘The Underground King’ could not continue after his eye had swelled shut.

Following the contest, ‘Platinum’ called for clashes with both Irish megastar Conor McGregor and another former lightweight titleholder, Anthony Pettis. However, on social media, Perry had another big name he’d love to toe the line with.

“A definite tough fight, the toughest out there, would be the original bare knuckle boxer, I watched him on kimbofights on YouTube in high school, I know calling him out could open a whole new world between us but man to man for the prize of a lifetime it would be an honor to bare knuckle fight @GamebredFighter,” Perry wrote on X.

Jorge Masvidal famously competed in backyard bare-knuckle fights alongside YouTube legend Kimbo Slice before working his way to the UFC where he competed for the welterweight world title on two separate occasions. Gamebred’ also holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history, dispatching Ben Askren with a flying knee just four seconds into the bout.

Earlier this year, Masvidal retired from MMA following his fourth-straight loss inside the Octagon. ‘Gamebred’ hasn’t ruled out a potential return, but for now, he is focused on building his Gamebred Boxing and Gamebred Bare Knuckle MMA promotions.

With Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship coming off one of the most successful nights in company history, BKFC founder David Feldman may look to flex his cash flow a bit and make an enticing offer to Masvidal for a one-off with Mike Perry.

Mike Perry calls out Anthony Pettis after BKFC 56 title win that's an amazing fight

Mike Perry notched another victory in the win column at BKFC 56 over the UFC former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. Looking to continue his momentum of big wins over big names, Perry is now fully setting his sights on a battle with another former UFC champion: Anthony Pettis.

The fight with Alvarez was intense, and it was another brutal showing of how extreme bare-knuckle boxing is. The fight wasn’t one-sided from the jump, but eventually, it turned into a beatdown. Alvarez wore the damage a lot worse than Perry did, and it prompted his corner to stop the fight in the second round.

During his post-fight interview inside the ring, Mike Perry made his desire for the fight with Pettis clear. After that, he also further discussed the idea at the post-fight press conference.

During the post-fight press conference, Perry opened up about how he was feeling. He talked about the callout, but would also give the media and fans a glimpse into his thought process regarding the caliber of fighters he’s looking to compete against.

“One name that did come to mind that I did mention before I fought Alvarez was Anthony Pettis,” Perry told the media (H/T MMA JUNKIE). “I think that’s an amazing fight.”

“He just beat Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match,” Mike Perry continued. “I think he’s intrigued by the bare-knuckle aspect. I had fun with Eddie, but it happened exactly how I said it was going to happen. I posted that Kimbo Slice picture of that backyard fight, and what did he say? ‘You have to hit me. Come on.’ Once he hit me, then I started moving, and he stopped hitting me and by the end of the second, what happened? He got busted up worse than I did.”

Mike Perry would later go on and explain why he’s yet to face an actual competitor from BKFC such as Luis Palomino, BKFC’s lightweight champion. But, Perry refuses to take such a callout seriously, when his main goal is selling fights.

“I think that whoever the company wants to match me against needs to have a certain number of followers, of hits on social media, on the internet, that are going to get people to tune in,” Perry said firmly. “It can’t just be one-sided. It can’t just be me selling the hell out of the fight. It can’t be that way. It has to be a two-sided affair.”

‘Platinum’ Mike Perry has a message for all the soft men out there.

The newly crowned ‘King of Violence’ celebrated his latest BKFC win by condoning sexual assault and telling women to get back into the kitchen and make him a sandwich.

“Men gotta stand up, bro,” Perry said in a video clip following his BKFC 56 win on Saturday night. “We have to man up. We gotta stop being liberals. We gotta start grabbing women by the p*ssy again. Point blank period, get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich, bro.

“I got work to do. I’m here to feed the family, okay? I feed us. I feed our pockets and you feed our mouths and then we feed each other and I feed off of you and that watery little playground you got down there.”

It’s certainly not the first time Mike Perry has spit some controversial, or in this case, downright vile words. After all, this is the same guy who justified his use of the N-word because a DNA test supposedly informed him that was 2% African.

In 2020, Perry was also caught on video yelling at a man in a Lubbock, Texas restaurant before punching the elder individual, knocking him unconscious. Perry could also be heard shouting a racial slur in the process.

However, Perry’s rise to stardom under the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship banner has many fight fans embracing his rogue anti-hero approach, similar to that of reigning UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland.

Returning to the squared circle in the Crossroads of the West, Salt Lake City, Mike Perry kept his undefeated bare-knuckle record intact with a second-round TKO over former Bellator and UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the BKFC 56 headliner. The victory crowned ‘Platinum’ as the first-ever BKFC ‘King of Violence’ champion.

Alvarez moved to 1-1 in BKFC after scoring a split decision over Chad Mendes in his promotional debut earlier this year.
