Conor McGregor has made no secret of his desire to face Floyd Mayweather in a rematch. However, the latter doesn’t seem to think it will happen.

The two combat sports stars notably faced off in a boxing ring nearly two years. Despite getting stopped in the 10th round, McGregor, along with Mayweather, came away from the event with a nine-figure payday.

It comes as no surprise then that the Irishman brings up the topic of a rematch every now and then. In late May, McGregor claimed he knew he would win in a rematch now that he had faced “Money” already. Last month, he even jokingly challenged Mayweather to a rematch following Andy Ruiz Jr.’s win over Anthony Joshua.

But when he was asked recently about a rematch with McGregor, Mayweather and his entourage could only laugh:

“Boy, boy, boy, boy, boy. These kids are some circus clowns,” Mayweather told TMZ. “You know, they can’t f*ck with Money May. Like I said before, the same lifestyle that I had before when I was fighting, is the same lifestyle that I got now.

“…They gonna keep coming my way. At the end of the day, I keep laughing, I keep living, I keep going to the bank.”

Do you think we will ever see a boxing rematch between these two? Or was it always going to be a one-off?

It was recently announced that former UFC star Ken Shamrock will be launching his own bare-knuckle boxing promotion, Valor Bare Knuckle.

The promotion’s inaugural show is set to go down on September 21 from the Bears Casino in North Dakota. Shamrock released a statement shortly after the news became official. Here’s what he had to say:

“I fell in love with bare knuckle in the first no-holds barred UFC promotion in 1993. There is nothing like bare knuckle. You have to be much more accurate with your strikes, and you have to train with a specific strategy in mind. Bare knuckle has always been my favorite way to compete because it is simply fighter against fighter, no more and no less. There is something pure and uncomplicated about that.”

No fights have been officially announced for the September 21 show. However, former UFC champion Mark Coleman took to his official Facebook page and revealed he’ll actually be fighting Shamrock on the card:

“Ken and I are finally going to share the Ring! BKB . I will no longer have to answer if I fought The Great Ken Shamrock! Good luck my friend. ?”

Also, Coleman’s longtime friend training partner Wes Sims took to social media as well, suggesting these fights will be taking place on the card as well:

  • Mark Coleman vs Ken Shamrock
  • Wes Sims vs Tra Trauma Telligman
  • Branden Hinkle vs Vernon White
  • Phil Baroni vs Mikey Burnett
  • Nick Nutter vs Pete Williams

Sims added that, “And talks to get Guy Mezger, Mark Kerr and others on the card. I’m stoked. Lion’s Den vs Hammer House BKB.”

What do you think about Shamrock facing Coleman in bare-knuckle action?

Despite recent claims, there is no official date for the highly-anticipated Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury boxing heavyweight title rematch as of yet.

Over the weekend, Fury revealed in a Q&A that his rematch with “The Bronze Bomber” was  “confirmed and signed” for February 22, 2020. However, according to Top Rank Boxing promoter Bob Arum, that date is only one of many that is currently being considered. Of course, the fight could still happen on February 22, but nothing is confirmed right now contrary to Fury’s claims.

Regardless of the date, both fighters need to win their next fight if they plan on having a lucrative rematch. Fury most recently outclassed Tom Schwarz in two rounds last month and is set for another bout scheduled to take place in September or October.

Wilder, meanwhile, knocked out Dominic Breazeale in May, and is set to defend his WBC heavyweight title in a rematch against Luis Ortiz at around the same time.

Both fighters initially met each other in December at the Staples Center in one of the most entertaining fights of the year. While Fury outclassed Wilder for majority of the 12 rounds, the American was able to land two knockdowns. In the end, the contest was controversially deemed a split decision draw, as many felt the Briton was robbed.

Do you think we will get a more decisive win in a Wilder vs. Fury rematch?

The sport of bare-knuckle boxing has been picking up steam as of late. Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has been producing some great cards in their first few events.

Most recently, a bad-blood headlined grudge match between Paulie Malignaggi and Artem Lobov. According to a report from AP News, UFC legend Ken Shamrock has decided to get involved in the bare-knuckle boxing business. The promotion will be called Valor Bare Knuckle and is set to hold its first event on September 21 from the Bears Casino in North Dakota.

The report includes that the promotion plans for “quick growth.” Shamrock, 55, is a mixed martial arts (MMA) pioneer who has been fighting as early as 1993. However, he hasn’t competed since 2016 when he was defeated by Royce Gracie at Bellator 149.

He is currently on a three-fight losing streak to names such as Mike Bourke, Kimbo Slice, and Gracie. Gracie is a former UFC light heavyweight title challenger and has shared the Octagon with the likes of Tito Ortiz, Rich Franklin, Don Frye, Bas Rutten, and so many more.

Although he has competed at the highest level in the UFC, Shamrock was never able to capture a UFC title, aside from the UFC Superfight Championship in 1995.

What do you think about Shamrock launching his own bare-knuckle promotion?
