Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announcer Bruce Buffer believes Khabib Nurmagomedov has set himself up to be a villain.

Buffer has been the UFC’s main announcer since July 1996. He has seen plenty of chaotic moments inside the Octagon, but perhaps none can top what transpired at the conclusion of UFC 229. A brawl ensued following Nurmagomedov’s submission victory over Conor McGregor. It all started when “The Eagle” jumped into the crowd and went after Dillon Danis.

Bruce Buffer Likens Khabib Nurmagomedov To A Villain

Buffer recognizes that Nurmagomedov and McGregor had a legitimate beef, but he feels there was no excuse for Team Khabib’s actions. He went as far as to call Nurmagomedov a villain during a recent appearance on the Anik & Florian Podcast (via MMA Weekly):

“It’s one of those enigmas and we have to get through it and move on. No call for it; no reason for it. The amazing cool cat, Khabib Nurmagomedov, has now become the ultimate villain. It’s amazing how things change overnight.”

Nurmagomedov awaits a decision from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. McGregor will also face disciplinary action, but many believe his punishment will end up being lighter than “The Eagle’s.” If Nurmagomedov is dealt with a light suspension, then he’ll likely keep his UFC lightweight title. A lengthy suspension, however, could be a different story.

The UFC lightweight champion feels his actions are justified. He says McGregor got away with the UFC 223 bus incident as well as talking about his religion and family.

The Legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer pumped the Monday Night Football crowd up for the Las Vegas for the game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Buffer is possibly the best sports announcers of all time with his calling card being “It’s time!”. He has been as big as the promotion himself. No one can hype a fight or even a sporting event quite like the legendary announcer. ‘The veteran voice of the octagon’ has been the octagon side announcer for the UFC since 1996. Buffer has hyped some amazing fights and got so into his call that he even tore his ACL and meniscus while announcing names for a main event.

Buffer only made the anticipation for the Raiders season even higher and called the game like he would be calling a championship fight. With Steve Aoki in the DJ booth, the opening of the Raiders season captured the spectacle that is Las Vegas. Not to bad of an opening night with fans at Allegiant Stadium.

Buffer was the best possible way to open up the the fairly new stadium to fans and get those fans hyped up for the 2nd season of Las Vegas Raiders football. The game went on to be a great game ending with a Raiders overtime win. Buffer may just have to open up every game until they lose. I don’t think the fans would have any problem with him opening all the home games like he did for the opener.

The call Buffer had for the game is the best call I personally have ever heard to introduce a football game. It looks like Buffer may have another side hustle ready for him.

UFC welterweight star Jorge Masvidal doesn’t get rattled or surprised too often, but that all changed after a fan did a spot-on impersonation of legendary announcer Bruce Buffer at a recent autograph session in Las Vegas.

Masvidal, who is coming off of back-to-back losses to welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, was in the process of signing bottles of his signature bottle, El Recuerdo at a liquor shop when a young man named Matt Parrino went up to him to get a signed bottle. As Masvidal put pen-to-bottle, Parrino shocked the crowd around them by doing a full-on fighter introduction of Masvidal in the middle of the shop, sounding exactly like Buffer.

Once Parrino was finished, Masvidal gave him applause and even appeared to offer him a new job as an announcer for his still-new fight promotion, Gambred FC. Masvidal appeared to reiterate his interest in signing Parrino to his promotion as a broadcaster in a recent tweet of his over the weekend.

As of right now, it’s unclear as to whether or not Masvidal has really offered Parrino a job as a ring announcer, but time will tell. The clip of Parrino and Masvidal during the Bruce Buffer impersonation went viral on social media and fans all over the world praised Parrino for his efforts.

Buffer, along with Masvidal, is one of the most beloved personalities in MMA history, outside of the fighters themselves. His incredible personality combined with his showmanship, energy, and strong relationship with the athletes in the cage. He joined the UFC in the mid-1990s, during the time in which the promotion was struggling badly financially. Fighters like Masvidal have risen to the upper echelon of the sport in recent years.

Masvidal has been busy away from the octagon as well. He recently held the inaugural event of his Gamebred FC promotion and is targeting a return to the UFC later this year, mostly against the returning Nick Diaz.

Bruce Buffer recently switched sports to give heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson one of his patented epic introductions.

The veteran UFC announcer made an appearance on the ‘Hotboxin’ podcast and had Tyson in awe as he introduced the former heavyweight king in classic Bruce Buffer style.  

“And now! This is truly the moment we have all been waiting for,” Buffer began. “IT’S TIME! Introducing, fighting out of Brownsville, New York, USA. Presenting the heavyweight, undisputed champion of the world. ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson!”

Tyson is currently in talks for a trilogy fight with Evander Holyfield.

On Monday, representatives for ‘The Real Deal’ sent out a press release that claimed talks for the eagerly anticipated Tyson – Holyfield trilogy fight had ended when ‘Iron Mike’ rejected a $25 million fight offer.

“We thought this was a done deal but it quickly fell apart when Tyson’s people declined all offers,” Holyfield’s manager, Kris Lawrence, said in a statement Monday. “We were negotiating in good faith all along and it appears we just ended up wasting our

Tyson wasn’t so quick to write off fighting Holyfield next.

“I see that happening in the near future, me and Holyfield,” Tyson told Haute Living during an Instagram Live chat. “Only thing we have to do is get some small fundamental differences [resolved], get some paperwork done and then it’s on to the races with me and Evander … I just want everybody to know the fight is on with me and Holyfield. Holyfield’s a humble man, I know that, and he’s a man of God … but I’m God’s man and listen, I’m going to be successful May 29.”

The heavyweight legend is hoping to get a deal done without promoters.

“I’ve learned so much, we don’t need promoters,” Tyson said. “What’s a promoter? Overrated cheerleader? They tell a fighter how great he is, ‘he’s the best, he’s gonna beat everybody’. I like promoters personally, but what do you need somebody in that position of business? To dictate your business, now you gotta be nice to this guy, kiss his ass, because he’s the boss? No, you shouldn’t have to do that, you should be able to go get your check and go do whatever the hell you wanna do and not have to talk to nobody.” (Transcribed by Boxing Scene)

UFC 258 was undoubtedly an impressive night of fights. However just as incredible was the UFC’s tribute to Bruce Buffer. The legendary announcer has now put 25 years into working with the UFC, and his presence has become synonymous with the organization.

The tribute served as a highlight reel for the Buff’s greatest moments. Going back all the way to his first time announcing for the UFC, on the UFC’s 8th ever show. Since that day Buffer has only rising in popularity and is now beloved by MMA fans all across the world. The full video can be seen below:

Bruce Buffer also had a custom smoking jacket, designed to mark the anniversary of his 25th year as “the veteran voice of the octagon.” The custom lining showcased the veteran announcer’s journey over the past 25 years.

Buffer could be seen to be visibly emotional after the tribute was played.

Buffer’s incredible work for the UFC is undoubtedly much appreciated by all fans of the sport. There will never be another announcer like him. With luck the Buff will continue plying his trade for the UFC for many years yet to come.

UFC Fight Island 7 kicked off a new year of MMA in glorious fashion, with the legendary Bruce Buffer announcing us in to a new season of fights.

Max Holloway put on one of the most masterful showcases ever seen in the sport. His unanimous decision victory over Calvin Kattar was a sight to behold. The headliner was also accompanied by exciting bouts on the main card. With legends Matt Brown and Carlos Condit fighting an impressive three-round war, whilst Li Jingliang forced himself into the welterweight rankings, after KOing the retuning Santiago Ponzinibbio.

However, one of the most exhilarating fights on the night didn’t even include signed UFC fighters. In what was a relatively tame set of preliminary bouts, with each fight going to decision, it was Bruce Buffer who truly stood out. As the Buff was in full flow, announcing the start of the third instalment Fight Island events, the local wildlife took objection. The fly struck first, though masterful head movement allowed Buffer to avoid any serious damage. Then a rapid right hand from the Buff meant that it was lights out for his opposition.

Funnily enough, Buffer has dabbled in the martial arts before. However, he has of course since transitioned to the voice of the Octagon.
