BRAVE 24 went down today (Thursday, 25 July 2019) in London, England in front of an exclusive invite only crowd inside the Copper Box Arena.
The main event was a short lived affair with BRAVE featherweight champion Bubba Jenkins demolishing Brazil’s Lucas Martins with less than three minutes gone on the clock. Jenkins started the fight with a flying knee before locking in the take-down. Once the fight hit the ground, Jenkins quickly wore Martins down before unleashing several heavy shots which caused the contest to be brought to a halt.
In the co-main event Ireland’s Cian Cowley, found himself on the receiving end of a KO loss to Poland’s Maciej Gierszewski. The Pole caught Cowley with a huge right hand which dropped the Irishman and ended the bout.
Here are the complete results from the 7-bout card.
Bubba Jenkins defeated Lucas Martins via First-round TKO
Maciej Gierszewski defeated Cian Cowley via Second-round KO
Cameron Else defeated Aidan James via First-round KO
Rami Hamed defeated John Robinson via unanimous decision
Louie Sanoudaki defeated James Brum via unanimous decision

If Bubba “I’m A Bad Man” Jenkins has his way the only changing of the guard taking place in the United Kingdom this week will be its appointment of a new prime minister. The American is set to mount the first defense of his BRAVE featherweight world title on Thursday, July 25 at BRAVE 24 and will do so against Brazil’s Lucas “Mineiro” Martins.
The main event bout will go down inside the Copper Box Arena, London, England. An exclusive invite-only audience will witness the clash and for Jenkins, the fight cannot come soon enough.
“The body feels, anointed, that’s what I would say. It feels ready to go. I am twiddling my fingers at this point as far as preparation goes, “Jenkins said speaking to LowkickMMA.
“I have checked all the boxes I have done the things I needed to do. This is a long time coming, as far as like, it was written before the foundation of the earth; this is something I believe I am destined for. “
Martins comes into this contest on the back of a loss to former BRAVE Lightweight World Champion Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady. The pair clashed last September at BRAVE 18 in a unification bout. At the time the Brazilian was the interim lightweight titleholder after previously defeating compatriot Luan Santiago at BRAVE 11.
Since then, the lightweight title has gained a new owner, and it just so happens to be a certain Luan Santiago, who KO’d Al-Selwady at BRAVE 23 to capture the belt. It was a result that did not escape Jenkin’s attention.
“I know Lucas is a tough opponent. He is a champion he has beaten the current 155 champion. So I do know he is tough. I have all the respect for Lucas “Minero”,” Jenkins said.
“I will give the fans what they want. I feel like I am being disrespected by their camp the feeling is though they could not win at 155 and they see it as being as I wouldn’t say easier, but they see it as being a better shot at 145 than they do 155.
“I am not sure why they think that , so there is a little bit of me looking at that and saying “oh OK you asked for this fight, you wanted this fight because you see there is a chink in my armor somewhere that you feel is easier to beat than the guy who you have already beaten at the weight you are normally at’.
“I just feel they want to do this for whatever reasons and I think I am the wrong mountain to climb. He may see me as a molehill, and I may be a grasshopper in his eyes, but it’s all about perspective because that molehill turns into a mountain if you are an ant. I don’t believe that he is the giant I am.”
Martins is a formidable striker with over half of his wins coming via way of stoppage. The 30-year-old is also an experienced BJJ practitioner. Still, it remains to be seen how he will fare against the elite grappling of Jenkins. For his part, while Jenkins respects his opponent’s skill set, he is not fazed by the challenge he faces.
“I do like to focus on my own game. What I do not fear I conquer, I know that to be a fact. “Jenkins said.
Jenkins is not only a fully committed and professional athlete. He is also a person of strong faith who believes he has found his calling in life.
“So many of these athletes don’t have a true purpose they are just fighting to fight or fighting for exploits, fighting for ambition, fighting for validation,” Jenkins said.
“So many people are confused as to what they want in life. I truly know what I want. I want to go around the world, spread the gospel, share my talents, show love. With every event I bring my wife with me, we get our experiences that way, we get our memories that way,” he added.
“This ain’t my career, this is my calling. Therefore I am destined differently, I am built differently, I am focused differently, I am shaped differently. Therefore I will stay here differently than most champions have.”
Jenkins signs off the interview with a prediction as how the fight will unfold.
“If he didn’t do what he was supposed to do, he will fall in two. If he comes for war wanting more, I put his lights out, and he snores in four.”
This Thursday, we find out just how accurate Jenkins is with his predictions.

Since its inception in 2016, BRAVE Combat Federation has arguably worked harder than its more established rivals to introduce mixed martial arts (MMA) to new audiences.
Morocco, Colombia, Pakistan, and Jordan are just some of the nations where the Bahrain-based promotion has broken ground. Now the company is looking to make a splash in England. It intends to do so by hosting an event that will be attended by a mix of business people, influencers, celebrities, and politicians. The exclusive invite-only black-tie affair may seem at odds with BRAVE’s aim of growing MMA. Yet, in a country like England where MMA already has a foothold, BRAVE is looking at new ways to help propel the sport further into the mainstream.
BRAVE 24 takes place this Thursday, July 25 inside the Copper Box Arena, London, England. The main event of the seven-bout card sees BRAVE Featherweight Champion Bubba Jenkins defending his title against Brazil’s Lucas Martins.
This will be the first time that Jenkins has headlined a BRAVE CF card. When listening to the 31-year-old, it’s hard not to get swept away by the sheer enthusiasm the former Bellator veteran exudes for MMA, his current promotion and his upcoming bout:
“I’m so excited about the London card, I’m excited for everyone involved you know BRAVE is doing an amazing job making it [MMA] global bringing the world closer together through combat, “Jenkins said speaking to LowkickMMA.
“For us to merge on London on 25 July with me the headliner going against a formidable Lucas Minero Martins. I am truly excited, and I cannot wait for fight week. I am excited as to what the rest of the world of MMA will look at it as.”
Jenkins officially signed with BRAVE in July 2018. Two months later the American made his promotional debut, successfully capturing the featherweight title from Algeria’s Elias Boudegzdame at BRAVE 16 in Abu Dhabi.
Jenkins’ return to action came after almost a year sitting on the sidelines. After parting ways with Bellator in 2017, the California resident briefly plied his trade under the ACB banner. However, it appears the former college wrestler has now found himself with a promotion that aligns perfectly with who he is and where he sees himself going:
“I am a big fan as to the way BRAVE has treated me, as you can see it’s been a while since I fought, but they have rewarded me with such a [major] event,” Jenkins said.
“I cannot complain. There would not be one iota of a bad thing I would say about them. Not because I am trying to be this company man and say the right things. But because they have truly taken care of their business as an organization, when it comes to supporting the fighters and wanting them to feel at home and feel appreciated.
A long-time advocate of fighter’s welfare, Jenkins has given the new kid on the block his tick of approval when it comes to their relationships with their athletes:
“I have been in some of the biggest and the best organizations, I have coached for the UFC, so have seen how they treat their athletes. I can say that BRAVE is top of the line. They are up there with the best in the world, with how they care for their fighters, how they care for their champions, how they make you feel like you are very important. You are not just a number in a weight class,” Jenkins said.
“I think with BRAVE doing what their doing, and with fighters buying into it I see it [ MMA] being more like soccer, how soccer is everywhere. It is major as well as baseball and basketball. I see MMA when people buy into it, and they don’t just stick to the formula we have here in America. They can stick to a more global understanding of helping the fighters themselves. It creates a much bigger platform.” Jenkins continued.
“Therefore if you don’t get signed to the biggest organizations, you can still be a professional fighter and feed your family and not have to worry about taking horrible fights on horrible cards in horrible places. It fixes the sport, and I truly appreciate the mindset that it takes to view it like that.”
After almost a decade in the sport, Jenkins now has his chance to step out onto the world stage. He will do so in partnership with a promotion carrying the same level of ambition for MMA as he does. When the cage doors shut on Thursday, expect Jenkins to grab this opportunity with both hands.
