Dana White has his own feelings on the Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant face-off that went down yesterday.

White is known for standing between fighters during the face-offs to make sure nothing like the brawl between Alvarez and Plant happens. Sometimes like the recent Ion Cutelaba instance, things do get out of hand, but never like it did yesterday. White had choice words for how their face-off was handled.

“I’m not surprised at ‘sh*t-Showtime’ those guys are great, they’re really good at what they do – from production, to press conferences, they’re f*cking awesome,” White said sarcastically during the Dana White’s Contender Series 40 post-fight news conference on Tuesday evening. “How long have you been in the business, that you would let two fighters go up to each other, face-to-face, without somebody there to try to (stop them). Then, when it breaks out, there’s like two women that are there between them before there’s a man anywhere near it,” White continued about the brawl. “You couldn’t be f*cking dumber than what they did today. Risk a massive fight with one of the biggest stars in the sport by not having the fighters safe.” (H/T MMAjunkie)

The most notable UFC press-conference that got out of hand, was the Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier at the UFC 178 face-offs. That face-off, was just like the Alvarez-Plant face-off.

The scuffle between Alvarez and Plant did not leave either fighter badly injured. Rumors were swirling around that Caleb Plant had gotten scratched and bloodied during the fight. Plant’s manager Luis DeCubas Jr told ESPN that the cut under his eye was due to his sunglasses, not from Alvarez. The cut will also not affect the match and it is still a go.

Dana White has a point, since a scuffle like that could lead to a devastating injury that puts a much anticipated fight at risk.

Things got more physical than anyone anticipated during the first faceoff between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant.

Canelo and Plant are scheduled to collide on Nov. 6. The bout will determine the undisputed super-middleweight champion. Canelo holds the WBC, WBA, WBO, and The Ring Super-Middleweight Titles. Plant is the IBF Champion.

During their first public staredown, Canelo shoved Plant. Plant responded by throwing a punch. Canelo ducked and nailed the IBF Champion, causing a cut under his eye.

See the madness for yourself.

There is already some concern over the status of the fight due to this incident. Many believe that Plant’s cut is the type that usually postpones fights. Of course, under normal circumstances, cuts such as that one occur during training.

It’s all speculation at this point, however. There is no word on what consequences Canelo could be facing for landing the punch or even Plant for throwing the first shot after being shoved.

MMA News will keep you posted on the fallout of this incident. We’ll be sure to bring you word on any potential fines or other consequences as well as whether or not the fight between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant will have to be postponed.

Canelo? Tyson Fury? Vitor Belfort Wants To Fight Both Of Them

If Vitor Belfort gets his way, then he’ll be sharing the ring with Canelo Alvarez and Tyson Fury.

Belfort recently made his return to the boxing ring against 58-year-old legend Evander Holyfield. It wasn’t a pretty sight for fans of the “Real Deal.” Belfort knocked Holyfield down early and while the former heavyweight and cruiserweight world champion wasn’t defenseless, the referee knew things were going downhill fast and he called a halt to the bout.

After the bout, “The Phenom” turned his attention to Jake Paul with a $30 million dollar offer. Belfort isn’t solely focused on the YouTube star, however. He told SiriusXM that Canelo and Fury are also on his radar (h/t Middle Easy).

“I fought everybody, every division. In Pride I fought everyone. Heath Herring, no one wanted to fight Heath Herring, he was the most feared guy in Pride… I fought him. I said double my money and I’ll fight him. I fought him, I beat him up, and I was like 190 and he fought 260.

“We gotta stop with this weight division… Before, only two divisions: under 200 pounds, and above 200 pounds. So I’m ready. Bring Tyson Fury, I’ll fight him over 200. Bring Canelo, I’ll fight him under 200. Let’s meet over there, and bring the legendary fights where fans would dream about it.”

Belfort is 2-0 as a boxer with the Holyfield bout being an exhibition. He’d be far outmatched in terms of experience against the likes of Canelo and Fury. Canelo is widely considered to be the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, while Fury is also somewhere in that list as an undefeated heavyweight champion.

Is there any chance Vitor Belfort gets a fight with Canelo Alvarez or Tyson Fury?

Jake Paul Likes His Chances in a Boxing Match with Canelo Alvarez

Jake Paul Canelo Alvarez

YouTuber turned Boxer Jake Paul continues to take his future in boxing very seriously, as he gets ready to face former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, in his next boxing match next month. Despite his relative inexperience in the ring thus far, Paul thinks he could give Boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez plenty of problems if they were to go to battle.

Paul is just weeks away from his matchup with Woodley, in what is by far his toughest test in the ring on paper to date. He knocked out Woodley’s teammate, former UFC welterweight Ben Askren earlier this year in Atlanta and looks to keep his undefeated record in the ring.

Obviously, the viral finish over Askren has given Paul plenty of attention from those in the boxing community, and confidence as well. Paul is going as far as saying that he likes his chances against Alvarez and could potentially dominate the world champion.

“I’m very confident,” Paul told Maxim’s Tom Taylor in a recent interview. “He’s a killer at 168 pounds, but people forget that I naturally walk around at about 205, so there’s a big weight difference. There’s a big height advantage. Canelo hasn’t fought someone who has really challenged him in the last couple of fights. They’ve all been easy guys who just sort of fall on their ass.”

“I just need to continue on the path that I’m on now: Getting experience under my belt, fighting tougher and tougher people as my career goes on, continuing to stay in the gym every single day. If Canelo sees that, he’s going to want to get in on the business.”

Paul also conveyed his interest in a possible Conor McGregor fight down the line, despite his recent trolling of the Irishman following his loss to UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

If there’s one thing that Paul doesn’t lack, it’s confidence. Another dominant win over a former combat sports champion like Woodley could give Paul the clout he needs to get a potential matchup with Alvarez or McGregor down the line.

Do you think Jake Paul could beat Canelo Alvarez in a boxing match?
