After more than a year on the shelf, UK sensation Chris Eubank Jr. scored a stellar seventh-round KO against Kamil Szeremeta in the Bivol vs. Beterbiev undercard in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Things got started early with Eubanks scoring a knockdown in the opening round, but Szeremeta quickly stormed back and had the Sussex native reeling from a big counter right after Eubanks was a bit too aggressive.
It wasn’t the first time Szeremeta managed to catch Eubanks with a solid counter shot but before long, Eubank started to pull away and ultimately ended the fight in the seventh round after dropping Szeremeta a total of four times during the heavy-hitting affair.
Official Result: Chris Eubank Jr. def. Kamil Szeremeta via KO (body shots) at 1:50 of Round 7.
“I was having fun in there, I think I could have finished it in the first but it’s been a year out, I wanted to get some ring rust off,” Eubanks said of the fight.
Immediately following the fight, undefeated star Conor Benn entered the ring and things got fairly intense between the two with a near-brawl breaking out. The two warriors were originally scheduled to meet in October 2022, but the bout was scrapped after Benn tested positive for clomifene.

Former world championship holder, Chris Eubank Jr. has exorcised his demons tonight in Manchester, England — landing a tenth round TKO win over fellow former world title winner, Liam Smith in the pair’s heated rematch — in the same arena as their bad-blooded January pairing.
Eubank Jr. — who saw his impressive six-fight winning run halted by Liverpool veteran, Smith back in January — was finished in spectacular fashion at the Manchester Arena, with the former landing a fourth round TKO win of his own.
However, tonight, the bitter rivals seemed oceans apart in terms of respective ability, with Chris Eubank Jr. — the son of former world champion and decorated veteran Chris Eubank Sr., dropped Smith early in the pair’s rematch tonight in Manchester, as well as turning in a slew of round wins on each of the three judge’s scorecards.
Pouring pressure on in the ninth round, Chris Eubank Jr. would successfully force the issue at the fight hit double-digit rounds, knocking Smith down once more in the tenth frame of their rematch.
Taking a standing eight count, Smith was eventually pulled from the action by referee, Kenneth Parker soon thereafter in the same round, with Eubank Jr. unleashing shot after shot on the Liverpudlian’s guard and body at the ropes, landing a tenth round TKO win in the pair’s rematch.

According to multiple reports this Thursday afternoon, this weekend’s scheduled O2 Arena clash between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn, is now officially off – after the latter returned a positive test sample A for the banned substance, clomifene in a test conducted by anti-doping agency, VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association).
As a result of Benn’s positive test sample A return, the BBBofC (British Boxing Board of Control) confirmed that the fight between the former and the above-mentioned, Eubank Jr. was “prohibited”.
“On the evening of 4th October 2022, the Board of the British Boxing Board of Control Limited resolved that the contest between Chris Eubank Jnr. and Conor Benn scheduled to take place on 8th October 2022 is prohibited as it is not in the interests of Boxing,” BBBC General Secretary, Robert W. Smith said in a statement provided. “That was communicated to the Boxers and Promoters involved on the morning of 5th October 2022.”
Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr. reportedly cancelled ahead of Saturday showdown
And as per a report from ESPN reporter, Mike Coppinger, Eubank Jr.’s fight against Benn this weekend in London has been cancelled.
“The catchweight bout between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. is now off after Benn’s positive test for a performance-enhancing drug, sources tell ESPN,” Mike Coppinger tweeted. “Fight was scheduled for Saturday in London.”
With claims that foreign governing bodies and other athletic commissions would still sanction the fight between Eubank Jr. and Benn amid the confirmation from the BBBofC that the matchup was “prohibited”, Matchroom Boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn confirmed he would not seek sanctioning from a foreign governing body.
“Let’s see what today brings but to make one thing clear,” Eddie Hearn tweeted. “I will not be promoting this fight (between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn) with a foreign commission or alternative governing body on Saturday night.”
Matchroom Boxing have since released an official statement regarding the fight, confirming the bout’s postponing until a later date.
“After discussions with various parties, we have taken the decision to formally postpone the bout between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn,” The promotion said in a statement released. “It is undeniable that the British Boxing Board of Contorl’s decision to withdraw their sanctioning was procedurally flawed and without due process. That remains a legal issue between the promoters and the Board which we intend to pursue.”
“However, whilst there are legal routes to facilitate the fight taking place as planned, we do not believe that is in the fighters’ interests for those to be pursued at such a late stage or in the wider interests of the sport. As promoter’s, we take our obligations and duties very seriously, and a full investigation will now need to take place. We will be making no further comment at this time and news for ticket holder refunds will follow.”

Despite his positive test sample A return, Benn, who appeared at today’s open workouts, insisted he was still a “clean athlete”.
“I’ve signed up to every voluntary anti-doping testing there is,” Conor Benn said during an interview with Matchroom Boxing. “I’ve never had any issues before. So my team will find out why there’s been an initial adverse finding in my test. I’m a clean athlete and we’ll get to the bottom of this.”
Benn has also claimed that he had spoken with Eubank Jr. this Wednesday morning amid the return of adverse finding in his VADA drug test sample, however, Eubank Jr. has denied any conversation with Benn, but maintains he is still ready to fight this weekend.

Following the cancellation of his scheduled headliner against Hasim Rahman Jr. this weekend, undefeated professional boxer, Jake Paul has received a quite surprising offer from surging middleweight contender, Chris Eubank Jr. – who has noted his willingness to fight the Ohio native next weekend.
Scheduled firstly to fight with Tommy Fury, the half brother of WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury this month, Paul saw his rescheduled matchup with the Manchester native shelved as Fury dealt with travel issues.
In turn, Paul would then book an August 6. headliner at Madison Square Garden in New York against Rahman Jr. – the son of former heavyweight champion, Hasim Rahman.
However, over the course of the weekend, Paul and his promotional team, MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) confirmed his fight with Rahman Jr. had been canceled due to “weight issues” between Rahman Jr. and the NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission).
Chris Eubank Jr. offers to fight Jake Paul next week in New York
In some quite surprising news, however, Paul has been offered a lifeline in order to keep his August squared circle comeback alive, with the aforenoted, former super-middleweight champion, Chris Eubank Jr. offering to fight him.
“Fumbles & Crumbles (Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr.) are not ‘boxers’ they are guys who put gloves on every now & again for clout… no different to you,” Chris Eubank tweeted at Jake Paul. “I’m fighting in a couple months but I can squeeze you into my schedule next week & save your show if you have the hear to get into the ring with a REAL boxer.”
This recent callout from Chris Eubank Jr. does not come as the first occasion in which the former world champion grabbed the attention of Paul, as he offered to fight him in the future – with the victor earning a fight with middleweight division kingpin, Canelo Alvarez.
As for Eubank Jr., the Hove native has been linked with a blockbuster all-British showdown with Conor Benn in October – the son of former two-division champion, Nigel Benn – who himself twice fought Chris Eubank Sr.
