Fabricio Werdum believes he knows how the upcoming UFC lightweight title fight will go at the UFC 229 pay-per-view event next month.

Werdum’s Suspension

Although he’s on the sidelines, it hasn’t stopped him from predicting Conor McGregor taking on UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

Werdum was supposed to compete at UFC Moscow. Werdum was then flagged for a potential USADA anti-doping violation.

As a result, Werdum will be on the sidelines for two years due to him testing positive for anabolic steroid trenbolone and its metabolite epitrenbolone in an out-of-competition screening on April 25. Werdum cannot fight until May 22, 2020.

Fabricio Werdum Believes

TMZ Sports recently caught up with the former UFC heavyweight champion and asked for his prediction for this fight. Thus, Werdum gave his thoughts by stating that he thinks Khabib ‘kill’ him in the second round. The fun part about this story is the fact that Werdum had no issues with stating that he’s not a fan of McGregor.

“Khabib, I think, will kill him for sure. They’ll have to stop the fight for sure I think in the 2nd round. I don’t like too much of Conor McGregor’s style. He talks too much.”

UFC 229 pay-per-view will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.

This is being hyped as the biggest fight in the history of the Las Vegas-based promotion due to McGregor’s return.

Conor McGregor’s Ex-Training Partner Helps Khabib Prepare For UFC 229 Headliner

This former SBG fighter also spoke how Conor is in the gym.

Conor McGregor’s ex-training partner helps UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov prepare for his upcoming title fight at UFC 229.

Myles Price Story Time

That former SBG fighter is Myles Price who has spent many hours sparring with the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ in the gym.

Now, he’s helping Nurmagomedov prepare to fight “The Notorious” at this event. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, he gave some insight into why he left the Irish gym as well as his fractured relationship with McGregor during his time at the facility.

“I’ll be honest with you, I never really got on well with Conor within the gym because me and Conor sparred a lot. At the time, Conor was taking fights at lightweight,” Price said on the latest episode of Eurobash.

“I understand the hierarchy within gyms. Even here at AKA you have heated spars, but afterwards we shake each other’s hands, we talk about what we can work on and develop as training partners or as a team.

“Basically, with Conor, he’s quite narcissistic. He’ll see you as competition. He’s not very nice to be around in the gym. If you’re giving him hard spars, he won’t see you as a friend after a while.”

Conor McGregor’s Ex-Training Partner Helps

Obviously, with Price helping out the UFC lightweight champ for this title clash, he is going to be a bit biased. When it comes down to the fact that he has had training sessions with both fighters, he understands them both quite well. Thus, he thinks Nurmagomedov comes out with victory at the T-Mobile arena come fight night.

“I don’t want to seem bias because I’m over here training with Khabib, because I have a lot of respect for Conor as an athlete. He’s an amazing athlete, there’s no doubt in the world about that. Anyone that questions that is very foolish because I’ve felt him in spars, he’s extraordinary, he’s a hard worker and when he’s mentally on point he performs extremely well,” he explained.

“My feelings have completely changed since I came over here because I’ve added training sessions and feeling what Khabib is like to my opinion. Khabib is a very good athlete, he’s a dangerous athlete and he can take a shot too. Everybody takes shots in the gym, but in my opinion, Khabib is very hard to hit at the moment. He’s a grinding, hard wrestler and his conditioning is on a completely different level now. Most importantly, his psyche is very strong. He’s very strong mentally and that’s what the deciding factor is going to be in this fight. Anyone that hasn’t taken Conor personally, emotionally or that hasn’t attached themselves to Conor has done well or beaten Conor. That’s what Khabib is doing now. Forget where he’s at physically, because psychologically is where he’s going to win the battle. If I had to make a quick [prediction] now, I’d probably say round three or round four, Khabib TKOs him. Just ground pound, taking him down, beating on him and referee stops it.”

The UFC 229 pay-per-view event is slated to take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET while the preliminary card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass.

Conor McGregor’s Father Offers Bold Prediction For Khabib Fight

Tony McGregor is backing his son with this prediction.

Conor McGregor’s father has given his prediction for the upcoming lightweight title fight at the UFC 229 pay-per-view event. Conor McGregor will obviously take on Khabib Nurmagomedov for the title at 155 pounds and is arguably the biggest fight in the history of the UFC.

McGregor hasn’t fought in the Octagon in over a year and never defended his lightweight title before being stripped of it. Instead, he spent his time hyping a mega-boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. As seen in the fight, he lost it via 10th-round TKO at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena last August.

Tony McGregor Speaks

Tony McGregor recently spoke with Ariel Helwani on his ESPN MMA show (transcript courtesy of SportsJoe) where he gave his prediction for the fight. According to the father of the former UFC champ, he thinks the UFC lightweight champion is too slow to avoid the power of his son. He also gave some insight into how Khabib won’t see anything coming due to the power, speed, and precision of Conor.

“Excuse me for a moment while I yawn, honestly. This argument bores me. I’ve looked at this every which way. Even up til last night I was looking at Khabib’s fights. He’s slow, he’s sloppy, he’s predictable. There’s nothing in Khabib’s arsenal that Conor fears. Nothing!”

“Conor’s camp is possibly the most awesome camp to date. He’s in peak physical condition. His power is unbelievable. Khabib is too slow. He won’t see this coming. Conor’s power, Conor’s speed, Conor’s precision – Khabib has nothing to counter that.”

Conor McGregor’s Father Offers Bold Prediction

The UFC 229 pay-per-view event is slated to take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET while the preliminary card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass. Tony McGregor thinks his son will finish him in the very first round.

“He’s going to be gone in the first round, without a doubt. There’s no way Khabib is going to survive until the second round in this one. He will not be able to stand Conor McGregor’s power. Once Conor cracks his skull, that’s it. Khabib is going to be too slow. And even if he tries to change and tries to be quick, he’s going to fall back to his old ways.”

“To be honest with you, he’s actually an amateur. I don’t know how he got to this level. Really and truly. He’s an amateur fighting amongst amateurs. This Octagon is a different Octagon that he’s ever fought in. When he steps into this Octagon on October 6, he’s stepping in with a highly-tuned professional – not the amateurs that Khabib has faced.”

Conor McGregor’s Teammate Believes He Can Easily Out-Grapple Khabib

This fighter also gave his prediction for this fight.

The post Conor McGregor’s Teammate Believes He Can Easily Out-Grapple Khabib appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

Conor McGregor’s Teammate, Artem Lobov, is an important part of the narrative that the UFC is attempting to tell in the story of the hype for the UFC 229 headliner.

Story Time

That story started back in April during fight week of the UFC 223 event. It’s well known that McGregor and several members of his entourage decided to fly from Ireland to Brooklyn, New York to get revenge on current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The interesting part of this story is the fact that it all started once the UFC lightweight champion got into an argument with McGregor’s training partner, Lobov, earlier that week. This led to McGregor attacking the fighter bus that had Nurmagomedov on and he was arrested as a result.

He was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. Lobov was supposed to fight Alex Caceres at this event but the UFC pulled Lobov from the fight. The reason is due to his actions with the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion in the bus attack.

Conor McGregor’s Teammate Believes

Lobov recent went on record by stating that he believes McGregor can “easily” win the grappling exchanges in this title fight.

“When you say it like that, it’s as if Conor doesn’t have wrestling and grappling. Khabib doesn’t have any striking,” Lobov told The Mac Life (H/T to Bloody Elbow). “It is true that Khabib doesn’t really have any striking, but it’s certainly not true that Conor’s grappling or wrestling is not on that level.

“He can easily out-grapple Khabib, and in the wrestling as well. Of course this is Khabib’s game, so we’re not stupid. We’re not gonna fall into his hands right away, but make no mistake about it, we’re gonna be ready everywhere.”

“I see Conor stopping him in Round 1. I just don’t see Khabib being able to do anything,” he said. “Look at some of his other fights he’s been in. The Iaquinta fight, when he was connecting, Khabib did not like it at all. He was going back, leaning back, turning away, closing his eyes.”

Paulie Malignaggi Rips ‘Pinata’ Conor McGregor

Paulie Malignaggi doesn’t pass up a chance to blast Conor.

Paulie Malignaggi rips former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, who is preparing for his next title fight under the UFC banner.

Bad Blood

The bad blood between Malignaggi and McGregor has been well documented. Malignaggi was brought in as a sparring partner to help McGregor prepare for Floyd Mayweather last year.

As a result of this, Malignaggi was upset with some of the images and videos of posted on McGregor’s social media accounts from their sparring sessions in which ‘Magic Man’ felt he was depicted in a bad light due to the fact that one of the pictures showed McGregor standing over him on the canvas.

McGregor ultimately lost to Mayweather in the tenth round by TKO after being hit by a series of punches against the ropes. Although he lost the fight, the UFC champion surpassed many expectations in his boxing debut.

Paulie Malignaggi Rips

The former boxer took part in a panel who were talking about the press conference in London for the upcoming boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin.

During that, FightHype asked Malignaggi about McGregor’s UFC 229 fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. This is when he went off.

“That’s a good ***-kicking waiting to happen,” Malignaggi said (transcript courtesy of MMAFighting). “He’s gonna get the s**t beat out of him. Like a nice ***-kicking too because unfortunately for him. Khabib is totally emotionless [and] doesn’t give a s**t about your antics. These Eastern Europeans, you can’t get in their heads. You ever notice these guys? They’re like robots, bro. They’re like killer machines. They have no emotion, bro. They have ice in their veins.”

“He’s been a pretty good punching bag lately,” Malignaggi continued. “He got the s**t beat out of him by everybody in sparring in camp me and Dashon Johnson used to have to go easy on him. I smacked him around and he did everything he could to get me out of the camp. Then he got smacked around by Floyd Mayweather. Then get got smacked around by the authorities when he got arrested because he didn’t want to fight Khabib. Now he’s gonna get smacked around by Khabib.

“Yo, you’re a f**king pinata, bro. Think about it. You ever play with a piñata? You just beat the s**t out of it adn you get a nice prize at the end of it. He’s like the piñata of combat sports. Everybody beats the s**t out of him and then gets a prize too! I love it. You’re a f**king piñata. Good luck. That’s a nice ***-whooping you’re gonna catch next month.”

Conor McGregor Offers Brutal Prediction For Grudge Match With Khabib

McGregor is confident that it will happen.

Conor McGregor offers brutal prediction for how his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title will end at the UFC 229 pay-per-view event.

Importance

This fight is obviously a big one for the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion. It’s also the first fight in nearly two years for him inside of the Octagon under the UFC banner.

McGregor has not been seen in the Octagon since UFC 205 when he won the lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez. McGregor then fought in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

Conor McGregor Offers Brutal Prediction

There were a lot of things said between McGregor and Nurmagomedov at the UFC 229 press conference that was hosted by UFC President Dana White in New York City on Thursday. During that media event, a reporter asked McGregor to call his shot for the fight and offer a prediction.

“Domination,” McGregor said Thursday at a press conference (transcript courtesy of MMAFighting). “His head bouncing off the canvas. All his pony talk is going to be f*cking put on blast October 6th.”

“As long as it takes,” McGregor said. “I believe, one [round]. He has a glass jaw. The Chechens, my Chechen friends, the soldiers. They told me that they had chicken jaws in Dagestan and I believe them. Because I know a glass jaw when I see one, and I’ve seen this man wobble many times. I’ve seen his brother sparked unconscious in another promotion. I know he is afraid of a smack. If you’re afraid of a smack off me, a smack will feel like a double-barrel shotgun. So, I believe inside the first. But I have been wrong before. I will be prepared for five rounds. You’re looking at a fighting veteran. I’ve come through it all. I’ve been through it all. I’ve been on both sides of the world.

“I’ve been on the boxing side and I’ve been on this side. I’m ready for any occurrence, but this man is a glass-jawed bum. I’m going to shatter him like that [bus] glass was shattered, may God have mercy on its soul on October 6th.”

The UFC 229 pay-per-view event is slated to take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.
