Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz just couldn’t help interrupt the other during an interview on “FOX Sports Live” Thursday night.

The two got together – in separate rooms – shortly after their minor “brawl” following a press conference to promote UFC 196.

After weigh-ins later today, it will be go-time the next time McGregor and Diaz see each other on Saturday night inside the Octagon.

In what should come as a surprise to absolutely noone, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz were not able to keep things civil at yesterday’s UFC 196 press conference. In the evening’s staredown, Diaz put his fist a little too close to Conor’s face for the Notorious one’s liking, and McGregor responded by punching — not slapping, punching — Diaz’s hand out of his face.

What resulted was a bench-clearing skirmish that — had we been in Nashville — would have almost certainly resulted in the featherweight champion getting curb stomped.

After the jump: A full video of the skirmish with actual sound, plus McGregor and Diaz’s profanity laced interview on Fox Sports Live that followed.

Seriously, have you seen how deep Diaz’s crew rolls? I don’t care how many pool noodles Ido Portal brings to the equation, McGregor and poor Artem were lucky that there were about a dozen armed police officers and Dana White’s bodyguard on hand.

After their scuffle, the UFC 196 headliners appeared on Fox Sports Live for a dual interview and if you think it was anything less than gold than you have clearly been in a coma for the past week or so.

McGregor: “His bum wrist will never be the same.”

Diaz: “No one knows what a gazelle is anyway.”

I am giddy like a schoolgirl right now, you guys.

Yeah we missed it at first too, but if you watch again you’ll see that Nate Diaz landed a clean and unanswered shot on Conor McGregor…

If you’ve been keeping up with the UFC this week you’ll know it’s all been about Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. The two outspoken fan favorites will collide in the main event of UFC 196 this Saturday March 5, and it’s been a very eventful 24 hours in this heated rivalry. Not only have the two been trash talking the living daylights out of each other, but McGregor and Diaz damn near started the fight on stage last night.

The second UFC 196 pre-fight show between ‘The Notorious’ and his Stockton opposite was just an absolute fan’s dream. The two had an intense moment on stage when Conor McGregor smacked away Nate Diaz’s extended fist, and havoc ensued as the two scuffled, and the 209 crew rushed the stage to join the antics.

Following this moment of live action madness came yet more bonkers footage from Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz’s appearance on FOX Sports. As they sat with Jay and Dan, things got heated real quick. Check it out:
But one moment has gone amiss here, as we may have missed the obvious at the UFC 196 presser brawl.

Six more weeks and UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos expects to be training again.

That’s what the fighter posted on social media Thursday, providing his fans with an update to his status.

Dos Anjos was set to meet Conor McGregor this Saturday night at UFC 196 for his title, but the injury – suffered in training – knocked him out and opened the door for Nate Diaz to step in.

It remains unknown if McGregor-dos Anjos will be rescheduled, though “Notorious” has seemed to have moved past the fight and onto thoughts of a bout with welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.

Well, it was only going to be so long before Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz were going to have trouble containing themselves after the heated build-up to their showdown this Saturday in Las Vegas.

At the second UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz press conference held on Thursday, McGregor and Diaz were nearly involved in a brawl.

During the staredown after the presser, McGregor shoved away Diaz’s hand, which led to Diaz shoving UFC President in an attempt to go after McGregor. Luckily, the situation was defused before getting too far out of hand, as a ton of security and officials hit the scene to keep McGregor and Diaz apart.

You can watch a clip of the near-brawl between McGregor and Diaz above.
