Cedric Doumbe predicts easy win over Conor McGregor in fantasy fight I would KO him

PFL welterweight Cedric Doumbe backs himself against Conor McGregor in fantasy matchup.

Doumbe is one of the leading figures in the rising European MMA scene, attracting enormous crowds and support in his native France. Cedric Doumbe sent a major message to the MMA world when he faced Jordan Zebo in his PFL debut last October – having an electric walkout to a roaring crowd carrying a mattress that read ‘good night Jordan’. He would then knock out Zebo in just nine seconds.

While his most recent outing against Baysangur Chamsoudinov would not go his way, Doumbe attracted another enormous crowd which featured notable sports stars such as Tony Parker and several PSG players. The event was said to have sold out within 20 minutes.

Cedric Doumbe vows to finish Conor McGregor in fantasy fight

This kind of attention Doumbe receives at home could only be likened to that of McGregor during his come up, in particular when he headlined the3Arena against Diego Brando in 2014. Speaking with BloodyElbow, Doumbe spoke of the comparison and while flattered believes that if the pair were to every meet for an all-European showdown, it would be he to come out on top.

Cedric Doumbe

“It makes sense because I’m the face of MMA in France as Conor was in Ireland so the comparison makes sense,” Doumbe said during an interview with Bloody Elbow.

“But if I fought Conor, I think I would knock him out in the first round because he is a good fighter. When I fight against a good fighter, I knock them out.”

Doumbe will make his return to the cage tomorrow night when he takes on Jaleel Willis in the co-main event of Bellator’s Champion Series which will take place at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.

A former LFA champion, Willis has since gone 4-3 on the Bellator platform and will prove a good test for Doumbe who is looking to get straight back on track less than two months on from his last outing.

Who wins, Cédric Doumbe or Conor McGregor?

Conor McGregor is a multi-millionaire, a two-time UFC world champion, a businessman, and a movie star. Now, you can add Tree Hugger to his resume.

Weeks away from his highly anticipated return to the Octagon on June 29, the Irish megastar shared a clip of himself getting in touch with nature, hugging some trees, and giving followers an unnecessarily long look at his bulge.

“I’ve been hugging the trees lately, it’s a nice little feeling yea,” McGregor says in the video originally posted on his Instagram stories.

Conor McGregor and unusual behavior tend to go hand-in-hand, but this is definitely a new one for the Irishman.

McGregor’s quote-unquote “greatest comeback in combat sports history” will go down in just a few short weeks when the UFC celebrates another International Fight Week in Las Vegas. Mystic Mac’ is scheduled to headline UFC 303 opposite former Bellator MMA champion Michael Chandler.

Conor McGregor

It will be McGregor’s first fight since suffering a devastating leg break in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier nearly three years ago.

Amazon Studios announces Road House sequel, Conor McGregor not expected to return

After the smashing success of Amazon’s remake of the 1989 action classic Road House, it should come as no surprise that the studio is already working on a sequel.

According to a report from Variety, Amazon Studios has confirmed that the story of ex-MMA fighter Elwood Dalton will continue. Lead actor Jake Gyllenhaal is set to reprise his role, though no other details have been revealed.

Road House

“As we saw this spring the world went crazy for a little movie called Road House,” Amazon MGM Studio chief Jennifer Salke said on stage at the Pier 36 venue in New York City. “Nearly 8 million viewers globally have watched Road House. We like to watch these results like a baby.”

Released on March 21, the film went straight to streaming, much to the chagrin of director Doug Liman. Still, that didn’t stop Road House from taking on a life of its own, attracting over 50 million viewers within its first two weeks. Recently, Amazon confirmed that the total viewership is more than 80 million.

Conor McGregor Indicates He will not return for road house sequel

In the original film which starred the late Patrick Swayze, the story focused on a mysterious bouncer who travels from bar to bar, cleaning up each place by eliminating the unsavory elements. The remake follows a similar premise, though it changes its setting from a small town in Missouri to the fictional town of Glass Key in the Florida Keys.

Aside from Gyllenhaal’s enigmatic hero, the film also stars Conor McGregor as an over-the-top skull cracker named Knox who is hired by the film’s big bad, portrayed by Billy Magnussen. Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) serves as the love interest for Dalton while Jessica Williams plays the bar owner desperate to keep her roadhouse from being overrun by a bunch of ruffians.

Road House

While Gyllenhaal’s character was the main focus of the film, many argued that Irish megastar Conor McGregor stole the show with his completely unhinged performance. Unfortunately, it appears as though ‘Mystic Mac’ won’t be returning for part two.

“Congrats guys,” McGregor wrote on his Instagram stories. “Wish you all the best of luck with it.”

Daniel Cormier slams Joaquin Buckley for mocking Conor McGregor's mom that was horrible

Former UFC champ-champ Daniel Cormier doesn’t like Joaquin Buckley trashing Conor McGregor’s mom after his UFC St. Louis win.

Buckley defeated Nursulton Ruziboev by decision in the co-main event, in a fight that came together on short notice after he called to be on the card. After the win, Buckley decided to call out McGregor but did it in a way that many fans were not happy with.

GNWAVaXX0AAOl J

“I researched the McGregor name and you come from a long, long line of McHo*s. Your dad was a b***h. Your grandfather was a p***y. Your great-great-grandfather was a p***y. So, I guess it’s safe to say that your mom was a p***y. And guess what? If you don’t answer, and I’ll bet the money I don’t even have that you won’t, everyone will know I’m telling the truth,” Buckley said.

To no surprise, McGregor did not respond to the callout while UFC CEO Dana White shut down any chance of that fight happening.

Cormier, meanwhile, didn’t like the callout one bit as he thinks Buckley took it way too far.

“That was horrible, how do you do that? I just don’t know what he was doing. Then he goes and he calls Conor McGregor’s mom a bad name. It couldn’t have gotten worse. It was bad,” Daniel Cormier said on Good Guy vs Bad Guy (via YardBarker).

Whether or not McGregor will respond to Buckley’s callout is uncertain.

Joaquin Buckley turns attention to Gilbert Burns

After Joaquin Buckley’s win at UFC St. Louis, he admitted he knew he wouldn’t be getting the fight with Conor McGregor.

Instead, Buckley has now turned his attention to a former welterweight title challenger in the form of Gilbert Burns.

“Gilbert Burns, I think it’s a beautiful fight,” Buckley said. “A beautiful match-up. I don’t know when he’s going to be cleared or when he’s going to be ready, but Gilbert Burns, definitely.”

Joaquin Buckley is 19-6 as a pro and is 9-4 in the UFC, but is a perfect 4-0 since dropping down to welterweight.

Conor McGregor's return has already generated 'Way Over' $20 million, becoming biggest gate in UFC history

Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return to the Octagon is still several weeks away, but that isn’t stopping the Irishman from breaking more revenue records.

On Saturday, June 29th, McGregor will compete for the first time in nearly three years when he meets former Bellator MMA champion Michael Chandler in the UFC 303 headliner. Emanating from T-Mobile Arena during International Fight Week, the event is expected to be a massive money-maker for the promotion.

Conor McGregor

Speaking at the UFC St. Louis post-fight press event, CEO Dana White confirmed that the gate for McGregor’s return is already “way over” $20 million, making it their highest gate of all time.

“It’s already way over $20 million,” White confirmed.

Conor McGregor is already responsible for three of the four highest gates in UFC history, the biggest being his November 2016 clash with then-lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. That event generated $17.7 million.

With UFC 300 bringing in $16.5 million at the gate and a reported million-plus pay-per-view buys, 2024 will undoubtedly be another banner year for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Maybe they’ll finally share some of that wealth with it’s fighters. … But probably not.

Conor McGregor has kept busy during his three-year-long layoff

McGregor’s quote-unquote “greatest comeback in combat sports history” comes 35 months removed from a devastating leg break suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. Though he has been out of action, ‘Mystic Mac’ has kept himself busy.

Aside from selling his popular brand of Irish whiskey, Proper No. 12, for a whopping $600 million, he also made his big screen debut in a remake of the 1989 action classic Road House for Amazon Studios.

McGregor also made headlines last month when he announced that he had become a part owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship during the promotion’s fourth-annual KnuckleMania event in California.
