‘The Rowdy One’ Ronda Rousey is back in the UFC, and she’s coming back for the title she lost nearly one year ago against Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, when she takes on current women’s 135-pound champ Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

UFC President Dana White appeared on The Herd earlier today to break the news, and also discussed the possibility of the long-awaited potential match-up between Rousey and the other woman who has been dominating female mixed martial arts (MMA), Cris ‘Cyborg’.

“I know that Cyborg wants that fight,” White said (courtesy of FOX Sports). “Ronda wants that fight, too. Ronda’s plan right now is to come back and try to win her title back and if that happens, the Cyborg fight will definitely happen.”

While Rousey reigned as the UFC’s bantamweight champion once upon a time, ‘Cyborg’ dominated women at her own championship weight of 145-pounds under the Invicta FC banner. Following Rousey’s first professional loss, however, ‘Cyborg’ finally made her presence felt in the UFC’s Octagon.

On May 14th ‘Cyborg’ made her UFC debut in her hometown of Brasilia, Brazil against Leslie Smith, where she downed Smith in the first round via TKO. Her second Octagon appearance was no different, as she welcomed UFC newcomer Lina Lansberg to the promotion with a vicious second round TKO in Brazil.

The Invicta champ has been campaigning hard for a shot at Rousey for years now, and according to White if Rousey is able to reclaim the title it may just happen.

RouseyRousey’s loss was a devastating one for the former Olympic judoka, who openly admitted to having thoughts of suicide after the defeat. Despite this the UFC President says it was never a psychological issue that held Rousey out of the cage for so long, but the fact that she wanted some time off:

“The thing with Ronda was she wanted time off. She said ‘I want to go away, I want to relax’ but this girl worked hard for us for three years, non-stop, fight after fight, promotion after promotion and she wanted time off. In this sport, I say it all the time — if you even hint that I want to retire, or I want time off, you need to do it in this sport. You’ve got to be all in, in this sport. You’ve got to be all in, you’ve got to be a killer, you’ve got to want it, you’ve got to want to be a world champion.”

“Make no mistake, White promises that Rousey hasn’t lost a step in the time she’s been away.  In fact, Rousey sent out a message on Twitter on Wednesday after her fight was announced with the tag “fear the return.”

Millions of fans across the world witnessed one of the most dominant and feared female athletes of all time fall to a vicious head-kick at the hands of one of MMA’s most prolific strikers, but at the end of the day White says Rousey is still one of the baddest women on the planet:

“Ronda Rousey has been the biggest, baddest female fighter on the planet now since we got into women’s fighting,” White said. “Ronda had a bad loss obviously and lost her title, but she’s still Ronda Rousey at the end of the day.”

Nunes and Rousey will meet in the main event of UFC 207 for the women’s bantamweight crown live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 30, 2016.

Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino has continued her verbal assault on former UFC bantamweight champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.

Rousey hasn’t competed since last November after she surrendered her title in brutal fashion to Holly Holm at UFC 193, but Justino, who scored yet another devastating stoppage victory over Lina Lansberg at last month’s UFC Fight Night 95, recently called out the ex-champion for a fight at the UFC’s card on super bowl weekend.

Rousey has laid low in the media throughout the last year, and her return has not yet been confirmed, but UFC President Dana White recently said that she was interested in finally facing off with the Brazilian slugger. “Cyborg”, however, says that if the fight is to ever take place, Rousey will need surgery when it’s all said and done:

“My last fight, I broke the nose of the girl in three places,” Cyborg told Jason Whitlock on FS1’s “Speak For Yourself”. “Sure, if I fight her she’ll have to do surgery on her face after. I’m not kidding.”

“Ronda doesn’t say anything,” Cyborg said. “She doesn’t even say my name. She used [UFC president] Dana White and her mother to talk to me, because she knows if she says my name, she’ll have to fight me. She knows this.”

Cyborg Sent Rousey This Fortune Cookie

Prior to Rousey’s sudden downfall last year, fans around the world fathomed over the idea of a potential super fight between her and Justino, hoping to see “Rousey’s” Olympic Judo skills go up against Justino’s tremendous knockout power. “Cyborg”, however, has never seemed to be concerned with Rousey, especially on the feet, and she’s not sure if the former champion will return to form after the loss she suffered:

“I watched her do shadow box and the shadow won,” Cyborg said. “Maybe that means when Mike Tyson lose his fight by KO, he never the same. Maybe it means that Ronda lost her last fight and she’s never the same. But not because she KOs people. She never did this.”

Do you ever expect to see this bout take place?

The UFC is quickly building a roster of stars who are crossing over into Hollywood in a big way.

It seems as if each and every week we hear or see a fighter on a famous TV Show, movie, or other form of major entertainment stage.

From Ronda Rousey making an appearance at Wrestlemania, to UFC golden boy Conor McGregor starring in the latest installment of the Call Of Duty franchise, the UFC is steadily starting to take over the entertainment section of the world along with sports as well.

Prior to the Conor McGregor’s and Ronda Rousey’s of the world, however, some other UFC combatants have also kicked ass on the big screen as well.

With that said, let’s take a look at our top 10 UFC fighters who threw down in movies…..

Dan Henderson10. Dan Henderson

We kick off our list with the former Pride Champion who will be competing this weekend for his first career UFC title, when he takes on Michael Bisping in the main event of UFC 204 for the 185-pound title.

Henderson, a two-time UFC title challenger, is one of the most hardest hitting men to have ever stepped inside the Octagon, and he took his hard hitting punches to the big screen.

Before he looks to shut Bisping’s lights out again to take home the gold, as he did at UFC 100 in their initial meeting, Henderson did in fact dabble in the acting business as in the middle of his MMA career.

While Henderson has made a couple of TV Show appearances in shows such as The King Of Queens and Cubed, he made his big screen debut in the 2012 film Dragon Eyes where he viciously beat a police officer:

In the scene Henderson repeatedly beats an officer by smashing his face in with punches, bringing back memories from the officer’s past and most likely doing some severe brain damage as well.

Lina Lansberg’s UFC debut bout was a bit different from most fighter’s first bout under the promotion’s banner, as she headlined a Fight Night Card against one of the pound-for-pound best fighters in the world.

The skill difference certainly showed on fight night, as Justino dominated Lansberg for the entire first round before she finished the Swedish product in the second round.

Shortly after the loss ‘The Elbow Queen’ took to her Instagram page to pay her respects to ‘Cyborg’, and stated that before her career is over she wants to fight the Brazilian beast one more time:

Finally back home and settled with more experience and some perspective on things.@criscyborg is just a phenomenal fighter with insane power in her hands! Not in any of my 85 Thaiboxing fights and 8 MMA fights have I felt those kind of punches. My nose got cracked in three places right after the first couple of punches. First time for everything I guess… Before I accepted this fight I knew about her weight, skill level and ability to finish opponents within the first round.

Thats exactly why I took the fight. To step up to the ultimate challenge, to put myself out there far away from comfort… I thought I would be able to show more. My camp was not perfect but good, our game plan was great but Cyborg shut me down in every way. I have got some healing up to do but can’t wait to get back in the gym and get ready for my next fight! I am looking to rack up some wins in 135 and I wish to fight Cyborg again before my career is over.

It will be interesting to follow Lansberg’s career going forward after having had the experience of being inside the Octagon with ‘Cyborg’ so early in her MMA career, and if she can once again earn a shot at trying to best Justino again.

The mega-fight that mixed martial arts (MMA) fans have been clamoring for the past few years may soon be upon us.

According to UFC President Dana White, who recently caught up with TMZ Sports, former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey wants to step into the Octagon with Brazilian brawler Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino for what could be the biggest fight in MMA history:

“She’s getting nasty again and her head’s in the right place,” White said.

Rousey is coming off of the first loss of her MMA career, where she was downed in the second round by highly decorated kickboxing practitioner Holly Holm with a devastating head-kick that shut ‘The Rowdy One’s’ lights out.

‘Cyborg’ is coming off her second UFC Octagon win, as she defeated UFC newcomer Lina Lansberg in the second round of their main event 140-pound catchweight bout this past Saturday (September 24, 2016).

Rousey typically competes at her championship weight of 135-pounds in the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division, but according to White, who made an appearance on the UFC Unfiltered podcast (courtesy of MMA Fighting), she would do a catchweight fight at 140-pounds:

“Ronda wants to fight her,” White said. “We’ll have to figure out at what weight to fight. But Ronda wants that fight. … Ronda could do [1]40.”

Although there have been rumors of a potential return bout for Rousey against current women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes later this year in December, a clash with the Invicta FC featherweight champ ‘Cyborg’ would be a massive return to action for Rousey.

Cyborg’s Six Most Overmatched Opponents

Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino is perhaps the best women’s MMA fighter of all time. She has also cultivated a reputation as one of the most ferocious and intimidating fighters in the sport, regardless of gender. But Justino has the misfortune of fighting in a division – 145 pounds – that is thin in the women’s ranks.

As such, the Chute Boxe representative has had a difficult time finding suitable opposition for much of her career. Her imposing physicality and ever-improving skill set mean that few women in her weight class can withstand her.

Contrary to her profile as a savage finisher, the woman known as ‘Cyborg’ has not always been as dangerous as her current iteration. That is reason there are not more victims on this list.

She lost her MMA debut via kneebar, and has gradually shored up her grappling skills throughout her career. Justino has always been physically imposing, but her striking and wrestling have come a long way from when she won her first major title in Strikeforce in 2009. In that fight against Gina Carano, ‘Cyborg’ repeatedly found herself in compromising positions. She relied on brute strength and her clinch game to carry her through large portions of the contest.

Since then, as she has developed her boxing and jiu jitsu to match her her physicality and vicious clinch game, she has dominated her foes more and more. As her second fight in the UFC approaches, a 140-pound catchweight against Lina Lansberg, let us take a look back at the opponents Cristiane Justino has crushed most mercilessly.
