Well, it looks like the rumors regarding a potential Women’s super fight between Ronda Rousey and Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is about to pick back up.

UFC President Dana White appeared on the latest episode of the UFC Unfiltered podcast and spoke with hosts Matt Serra and Jim Norton about a potential Rousey-Cyborg showdown inside the Octagon.

Regarding the possibility of the fight finally taking place, White revealed that he spoke with the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and she indicated to him that she would, in fact, like to fight the reigning Invicta FC Featherweight Champion.

“Ronda wants to fight her,” White said. “We’ll have to figure out at what weight to fight.”

The UFC boss continued, pointing out that “Rowdy” Ronda could take a potential fight with Cris “Cyborg” at a catch weight bout of 140 pounds, which is the weight Cyborg has competed at in both of her two appearances inside the Octagon.

“But Ronda wants that fight. … Ronda could do [1]40,” White added.

Additionally, White reiterated his previous statement regarding the lack of interest in creating and building a new Women’s Featherweight [145 pound] division around the reigning 145-pound champion of the all-women’s Invicta FC promotion.

“I don’t think so,” said White when asked if he would consider adding a 145-pound women’s division in the UFC. “I think, first of all, there aren’t enough 145-pound female fighters to start a 145-pound division. There just isn’t. You know? Cyborg is this one girl floating out there who had that type of star power. She headlined Brazil for us.”

The ink is just starting to dry on the bout agreement that is pitting UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez, and 145-pound champ Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 205 this November for the 155-pound strap.

McGregor is coming off of a five round slugfest with rival Nate Diaz at UFC 202 this past August, in which the Irishman seemed to have suffered an apparent foot injury after unloading a barrage of leg kicks on the ‘Scrap Pack’ member.

UFC President Dana White took to Sports Center, courtesy of The Bloody Elbow, to discuss just how serious McGregor’s foot injury really is:

“So, after the Nate Diaz fight, [McGregor] injured his foot. And the doctor basically said, ‘There’s no real damage there, it’s an old injury, but you need to stay off your foot for a few weeks,’” White said.

Nate Diaz-Conor McGregor“Conor and I were going back and forth about the foot, and I said, ‘Listen, you’re not a doctor,’ and he told me, ‘I know my body better than you do.’ So I’ll give him that one, and he wants the fight. It’s the reason we all love Conor McGregor.”

While it may seem like the money-fueled McGregor might be a pest when it’s time to meet at the negotiation table, White stated that working with the featherweight champ actually is ‘not that bad’:

“It’s actually not that bad,” White said. “He’s an intelligent guy. The thing that I love and respect about Conor McGregor is that he loves to fight and he wants to fight everybody. So he’s my kind of guy.”

The UFC President then went on to state that ‘Notorious’ is also going through some personal issues at the moment, that he is sure McGregor will announce when he is ready:

“He’s got some stuff going on right now, some personal stuff that I’m sure he’ll announce when he’s ready,” White said.

What do you think McGregor’s ‘personal stuff’ could be? Will it affect his performance come fight night in New York?

Conor McGregor: UFC Will Need A F*cking Army To Take One Of My Titles After UFC 205

As noted, UFC President Dana White announced during his ESPN SportsCenter appearance on Tuesday that even if Conor McGregor does claim a second UFC title with a win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November, he will still be forced to give up one of his titles and continue with his Octagon career as a champion of one UFC division.

Apparently this was something that “The Notorious” one was not aware of.

At the official UFC 205 ticket on-sale press conference held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York on Tuesday, the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion made it clear that he won’t be giving up any titles without a fight.

“They’re going to have to gather an army to try and take one of them (belts) off me, and that’s out straight,” McGregor said during the entertaining press conference for the big event, which will be the UFC’s first-ever event held in the state of New York.

The top PPV draw in the sport continued, “One’s going to be there, one’s going to be there, and I’m going to be picking and choosing who I want to destroy next. And that’s it.”

According to McGregor, who is known for his “Mystic Mac” predictions, which often come to fruition, he believes the 155-pound division will be the one that he “takes over the most.”

“I’m very happy with the 155-pound weight limit,” McGregor said. “I feel of all the divisions I’ve ran around and ran through, 155, I feel, will be the one where I take over the most. So, I look forward to that.”

Later in the presser, McGregor reiterated his belief that UFC will “need an army” to take one of his titles if he wins a second one from Alvarez in November.

“I’m going to wrap one (belt) on one shoulder, and I’m going to wrap the other on the other shoulder, and they’re going to need a f*cking army to come take them belts off me,” McGregor said.

Apparently Conor McGregor won’t be a reigning, active two-division champion in the UFC even if he beats Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November.

UFC President Dana White appeared on ESPN SportsCenter on Tuesday and stated that if McGregor defeats Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Championship at the promotion’s debut event in New York, he will have to relinquish one of his titles before moving forward.

As White explained, he’s merely giving “The Notorious” one a chance to back up his claim that he will be the first-ever two-division champion in UFC history.

“He wants to try to gain both belts and he will give up one of the titles after that fight in New York,” White said during his ESPN appearance on Tuesday.

The UFC President continued, “He’s got some stuff going on right now, some personal stuff that I’m sure he’ll announce when he’s ready,” White said. “But this fight made sense.”

The Conor McGregor show is officially up and running again. News broke late Monday night that McGregor would indeed be fighting at UFC 205, but not as a featherweight. Eddie Alvarez will make his first lightweight title defense against ‘The Notorious’ on November 12, as the UFC debuts in New York City. The Masdison Square Garden is set to play host to a thus far spectacular pay-per-view card. Also confirmed yesterday were Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero, and Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Michael Johnson.

Following this string of wild announcements came some news of a very different kind. Former undisputed champion and current interim featherweight boss Jose Aldo asked for his release by from the UFC. Clearly frustrated that McGregor would be fighting for a third time outside his weight division, thus leaving the division cold again, ‘Scarface’ said he was done with the ‘circus.’ Another fighter who appears to be getting fed up with the UFC’s alleged special treatment of McGregor is Nate Diaz.

Diaz Blasts Everyone

After submitting Conor McGregor in a wild brawl at UFC 196, Nate Diaz agreed to an immediate rematch. Just weeks after the event the two bitter rivals were set to do it all again. This time around, at UFC 202, the Irishman claimed a close decision win over Diaz. Unfortunately for Nate, his request for a do-over was shut down by the UFC. McGregor was matched with Alvarez, and so we find ourselves in the midst of a super fight in the Big Apple.

Although it’s undeniably great for the promotion’s first show in New York, what about the bigger picture? Are the UFC alienating their entire roster, or will the rest of the fighters turn full heel to bring in the eyeballs? Diaz is not impressed. Speaking with MMAFighting.com, the Cesar Gracie black belt put McGregor and UFC president Dana White on blast:

Diaz 202

“Fuck them both (McGregor and Alvarez). You know both those little bitches are afraid to fight me. That’s why they are fighting each other.

“And tell Dana I said get off Conor’s nuts,” Diaz added. “I left my room to that fight at 176 (pounds), so when I fought I was probably 173. Quit telling people I was a monster to make him look good. I’ve been a lightweight my whole career.”

“Eddie said I was next after Gilbert, then I called him a bitch in the lobby and he turned the fight down repeatedly until I beat Conor,” Diaz said. “Then he called every day asking for the fight. Bitch. What kinda fighters are these guys?”
