Darren Till responds to Mike Perry's fiery Post-Fight callout: 'I am going to destroy this man'

Darren Till is tired of hearing Mike Perry run his mouth.

On Saturday night (April 27), ‘Platinum’ earned his fifth-straight victory under the BKFC banner, scoring a smashing 60-second TKO over former UFC standout Thiago Alves in the KnuckleMania IV main event.

Immediately following the bout, Perry delivered a fiery post-fight promo targeting longtime rival Darren Till.

“Darren Till you fat f*cking b*tch, get your ass over here,” Perry said immediately following his latest win.

Perry’s comments extended into the post-fight press conference, telling Till that he needs to stop chasing gold in MMA and come get a piece of ‘Platinum’ inside the squared circle.

“I think that fight is something a lot of people have wanted for a long time, including me and him, you know, he’s talking big sh*t,” Perry said. “He’s talking his sh*t, but he ain’t doing nothing. I’m talking sh*t and I’m out here doing it. So, get your ass – he say he’s in the gym or whatever and he’s working and he with, you know,  Khamzat (Chimaev) is undefeated. But he’s over there in the MMA world chasing that gold.

“I’m better than gold. I am the gold over here, I’m above it. I’m ‘Platinum.’”

It didn’t take long for Till to respond to the callout, promising to “destroy” Perry once the two men finally meet.

“FKN bum. I am going to destroy this man when we finally meet,” Till wrote on his Instagram Stories. “He’s been fighting old slow sh*tty dopes.”

Mike Perry Smashes the competition while Darren till continues to sit on the sidelines

Mike Perry and Darren Till have been on a collision course dating back to their days of competing inside the Octagon.

Mike Perry and Darren Till

Recently, ‘Platinum’ claimed that BKFC president David Feldman offered Till $2 million to knuckle up with Perry, but turned down the deal in hopes of securing a traditional boxing match with Perry before taking off the gloves and toeing the line.

Thus far, Perry has run through a who’s who of top-tier talent since signing with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2021. Kickstarting his run with a win over Julian ‘Let Me Bang Bro’ Lane, he promptly upped the ante against a slew of MMA stars including Michael ‘Venom’ Page and former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.

He walked away with a majority decision win over MVP before TKO’ing his last three opponents, including his destructive performance against former BKFC middleweight champion Thiago Alves at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Till has been sitting on the sidelines since December 2022 after exiting the UFC on a 1-5 losing skid.

When it comes to Perry’s next opponent in BKFC, Darren Till undoubtedly makes the most sense, but it seems as though the UK-based star isn’t interested in trading in his gloves for a pair of hand wraps. At least, not yet.

Darren Till reveals he missed out on six-figure sponsorship in UFC due to Venum deal

Former UFC welterweight Darren Till reveals an eye-watering amount of money that he was forced to walk away from during his UFC career.

While Till never reached the heights in the UFC that was hoped for, even now the 31-year-old’s name still holds value. Always funny and outspoken, Darren Till garnered a following quickly during his time with the promotion – something that any normal athlete would be to fully cash in on.

However, the UFC has strict advertising rules which means that fighters are restricted in terms of what products they can promote, and when they are able to promote them. For example, fighters are no longer allowed to have sponsors on custom shorts with Venum being the uniform of the UFC.

Talking on the Ben Heath Podcast, Till revealed that he was forced to turn down sponsorship offers during the height of his career.

“I know in the past when I was fighting I had massive, massive offers for sponsorship to go on shorts, but I’ve had to turn it down because of Venum, so that’s the only thing where it’s been a bit annoying,” said Darren Till. “This was in the past. They were a construction company, and they were like ‘We want to pay Till this much,’ and I was like ‘what!?’ I was saying to my friend, ‘Is there no way around this? Like I can’t put them on my shorts.’ I had to turn the offer down. That left a little bit of bitterness in my mouth.

Continuing, Till revealed that missed out on six-figure paycheques.

“About $150,000. I was just thinking like UFC pay, and $150,000 on top. I need to do this. There was no way around it,” Till said. “Because talking with the UFC they have that deal in place with Venum. There are no ifs, buts, maybes. You’re in Venum, you’re in Monster, the shoes are Reebok and I just had to turn the deal down.

Venum were paying a main event fighter something like $20,000 or something like that, which I’m not going to turn my nose at that. And at the time my social media was banging, I could have probably gathered three or four more sponsors as well,” Till continued. “So I could’ve walked away with just sponsorship, with, I don’t know, $300,000-$400,000, I know I could’ve gained that. But If I could ever be so critical, which I don’t like being critical, it’d be along that side.”

Since making the move from the Octagon to the squared circle in 2022, ‘Platinum’ went from a middling welterweight to a bonafide bare-knuckle star under the BKFC banner. In his relatively short time with the promotion, Perry has already faced a who’s who of combat sports stars including Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez.

Mike Perry vs. Luke Rockhold

Gearing up for a return to the ring in 2024, all signs pointed toward Perry finally throwing hands with longtime rival Darren Till. Both men have traded shots back and forth in interviews and over social media for the past few years, and with neither being bound to a restrictive UFC contract, their clash seemed inevitable.

Mike Perry and Darren Till

According to BKFC president David Feldman, the promotion had met Till’s financial needs during negotiations, but ‘The Gorilla’ ultimately declined to sign on the dotted line.

“I heard he said no to over $2 million dollars,” Perry said on the latest episode of The MMA Hour. “Darren’s just yapping away over there.”

According to Perry, Till would prefer their fight to be a traditional boxing match rather than a bare-knuckle brawl, and seemingly no amount of money is going to change his mind.

“What’s he doing? What is he doing? I know they gave him a hell of an offer,” Perry said. “Respect that you don’t care about that type of offer and you want what you want. When you want what you want, that’s respectable. But that’s one thing about BKFC too — at the end of the day, screw the gloves. Test yourself for real. Up against the bone. Skin and bone, baby, that’s what’s in there. Test yourself.”

Mike Perry is open to a traditional boxing match with Darren till

Mike Perry hasn’t completely closed the door on a boxing match with Till once his scheduled scrap at KnuckleMania 4 is in the books, so long as it makes sense for him financially.

“A lot of guys say they wanna do it with boxing gloves or gloves of some kind,” he said. “Those fights will happen in the future. A big part of the [BKFC] contract is I can do other things as well, and if the right money, and it has to be right because I’m being paid very handsomely.”

On April 27, Perry will look to add another name to his hit list when he meets former BKFC champion Thiago Alves at the promotion’s fourth annual KnuckleMania event in Los Angeles.

Darren Till reveals he was sued for $1.4 million for beer company Raw Dog

Former UFC title challenger Darren Till reveals that he was sued for over $1 million after starting his beer company, ‘Raw Dog.

Till’s banter both on the mic and on social media has always helped him gain more of a spotlight throughout his career. However, it has been his love/hate relationship with Mike Perry that secured him the most attention outside of the cage.

Their relationship has been up and down over the years, starting off as potential opponents the competitive rivalry eventually lead to a now infamous sparring session. Things cooled off, the pair shared some friendly exchanges before comments from Till in reference to Perry’s partner angered ‘Platinum’ and spawned Darren Till’s ‘Rawdog’ catchphrase.

The Rawdog thing really took off and Till attempted to capitalise on it, creating a brand named after it. However, things went quiet and in a recent media appearance Darren Till revealed why.

“I got sued for $1.4 million!” ‘The Gorilla’ claimed. “Raw Dog got sued. So it was going well, and I was actually saying to the guys, we need to give Adesanya some percent, and Perry. And then there’s a brand in England called G-Star Raw and it’s trademarked and they own the rights to the name ‘raw.’ So they sued us, and we couldn’t trade anymore. They sent us a cease and desist letter, and that was the end of Raw.” (H/T MMA Mania)

Till and Perry now seem friendly, in fact this came from an appearance on Perry’s podcast. However, the pair have discussed the prospect of the two boxing each other.

When will Darren Till fight again?

Since officially departing from the UC back in March of last year, Till has always been steadfast on returning to the promotion at some point. The Scouser has been plagued with injuries throughout his career, including several serious knee issues and claims he plans on getting healthy before making a return to MMA.

Till has been boxing in the meantime and plans on making a run at the sport before stepping back into the cage. In particular, Till has been targeting a fight with Perry.

“To be totally honest with you, my mind’s only been set on one thing, on one person [and that’s] the Mike Perry fight,” Till said of his return. “Obviously, he became the ‘King of Violence’ inside bare knuckle.

“It’s a fight that’s been destined now for seven years me and him. So, I’m really pushing for it. I don’t know what his team and that are doing, I don’t feel they’re pushing for it as much. I don’t know what the reasons are.”

Darren Till eyes rematch with ex-UFC star Jorge Masvidal that's a big-money fight

Former welterweight title challenger, Darren Till has welcomed the possibility of a future rematch with fellow former UFC championship chaser, Jorge Masvidal in the future – claiming a re-run with the Floridian is a “big-money” clash.

Till, a veteran of the UFC, departed the Dana White-led promotion of his own volition back in February of last year, amid a slew of consecutive losses and struggles with persistent knee injuries.

Making his most recent combat sports walk at UFC 282 in December of the year prior, Till suffered his third consecutive defeat in the form of an eventual third round neck crank submission loss to incoming UFC 297 headliner and middleweight title chaser, Dricus du Plessis.

Darren Till eyes a future rematch with Jorge Masvidal

Linked with a long-anticipated fight with fellow former welterweight contender, Mike Perry in a potential BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) bout or a professional boxing venture, Till claims a matchup against former UFC foe, Masvidal is also firmly on his immediate radar.

“I think that whole scene now, (Jorge) Masvidal and Nate (Diaz) are fighting, Jake Paul, Tommy (Fury), KSI, (Mike) Perry – that whole thing comes together,’ Darren Till told Boxing Social during a recent interview. “Even (Tyron) Woodley’s in it and stuff like that. Any one of them, I feel like it’s a big-money fight, especially with my name and their name – all the sh*t before it and the fight. I know I can beat them all, as well.”

“Masvidal, yeah, the rematch with Masvidal, so get one back on him,” Darren Till explained. “They’re the fights. Let’s say Perry at the top of this [list] – Perry’s number one – and they’re all just below Perry. So if I can’t make the Perry fight happen, I’d love to make a fight with one of them happen.”

Fighting former BMF titleholder, Masvidal atop a UFC Fight Night London card back in 2019, Liverpool striker, Till suffered a devastating second round KO loss to the Miami veteran.

Expected to make his return to combat sports in March, Masvidal is currently in talks to fight the aforenoted, Diaz in a boxing match re-run – however, the Stockton native has offered his services in the form of a UFC 300 headliner in April.

Darren Till doubts Ian Garry's illness ahead of UFC 296 I'm not buying that

Former welterweight title challenger and middleweight contender, Darren Till has questioned the legitimacy of unbeaten striker, Ian Garry’s battle with pneumonia – resulting in his withdrawal from a scheduled fight with Vicente Luque at UFC 296 tonight, questioning a recent interview conducted with the Dubliner.

Till, an alum of the UFC, has yet to return to active competition since he featured at UFC 282 back in December of last year, suffering his third consecutive loss in the form of a third round neck crank submission loss to incoming title challenger and UFC 297 headliner, Dricus du Plessis.

As for Garry, the undefeated number ten ranked welterweight challenger, was scheduled to feature on the main card of UFC 296 tonight – taking on Brazilian-American, Luque in a high-stakes welterweight clash.

However, late Wednesday night, reports confirmed by Dana White revealed that flu-like symptoms eventually resulted in pneumonia, with Garry pulled from the bout as a result.

Darren Till doubts Ian Garry’s illness ahead of UFC 296

Addressing his exit from the clash, Portmarnock striker, Garry claimed he could “barely breathe” at the moment as he deals with the illness, before assuring fans that he would return to the Octagon as soon as possible.

“How are we, I can barely breathe,” Ian Garry told TNT Sports. “It’s upsetting, it’s irritating, it’s annoying. ‘Cause you guys know I love to fight more than anything. And I’ve never pulled out of a fight, I’ve never had to be in this situation, but here we are. And we’ll deal with it the way we deal with everything: the best in the world.”

“I mean, the truth is – I’ve got what I’ve got, we’ll deal with it,” Ian Garry explained. “And then we’ll get back on the horse and then we’ll fight. …But yeah, I just wanna let you guys know, that I’m good – and I’m coming for everybody with a full head of steam.”

However, as far as Liverpool striker, Till is concerned, he’s unsure if Garry’s illness is legitimate – and futhermore, his current condition.

“I’m not buying this, I’ll be honest,” Darren Till tweeted in response to Ian Garry’s interview.
