After returning to the Welterweight division at UFC 114 and taking a Unanimous Decison loss to John Hathaway, it was time for Diego Sanchez to rejoin the team at Jackson’s Submission Fighting and figure out if he belonged back at the 170lb division. Under Greg Jackson’s guidance, Sanchez claimed a Unanimous Decision victory over Paulo Thiago at UFC 121 and is now ready to meet UFC Welterweight, Martin “The Hitman” Kampmann at UFC on Versus 3.

Martin Kampmann is coming off a painful Split Decision loss to Jake Shields and is looking to redeem his “shitty” performance. Shields now has a titleshot coming to him, as he is set to face the winner of Josh Koscheck vs Georges St. Pierre which happens this Saturday at UFC 124. Like Diego Sanchez, Kampmann’s last win came by defeating Paulo Thiago via Unanimous Decision. Both fighters have an excellent ground game as Sanchez is a BJJ Brown Belt and Kampmann’s honed his wrestling skills under the tutelage of Randy Couture at Xtreme Couture. The headlining fight is set for March 3rd on Versus.
