Khamzat Chimaev Calls Out UFC's Dricus Du Plessis—With Donald Trump

Khamzat Chimaev is coming for Dricus Du Plessis’ middleweight title, and the Chechen is getting a little help from President-elect Donald Trump … Sort of.

Following his dominant first-round submission victory over Robert Whittaker in Abu Dhabi, fans are clamoring for ‘Borz’ to get his first shot at UFC gold.

Khamzat Chimaev

Unfortunately, Chimaev will have to get in line as Dana White has already promised the next title opportunity to ex-champion Sean Strickland. Of course, that won’t stop Chimaev from shooting his shot on social media.

Recently, the undefeated Chimaev took to X and tagged Du Plessis in a post featuring an image of Trump pointing his finger.

Khamzat Chimaev

A little odd seeing a Chechen fighter who lives in the Middle East calling out a South African with a picture of a former and soon-to-be President of the United States, but you do you, Chimaev.

‘The Reaper’ thinks Khamzat chimaev should walk straight into a title fight

Originally, the plan was for ‘DDP’ to put his title on the line against Strickland in a rematch of the UFC 297 clash that saw Du Plessis escape with a win and the belt via a somewhat questionable split decision. By all accounts, that still seems to be the plan, but White recently confirmed that Chimaev plans on competing for the middleweight title in 2025.

The only question is, will it be before or after Strickland’s promised shot?

Khamzat Chimaev

If you ask Robert Whittaker, the answer is pretty clear.

“I’m interested to see what he does next,” Whittaker said on The MMArcade podcast. “I think he’s going to be a nightmare for a lot of the dudes in the top five because I don’t know how you stop that takedown? I think he should go straight to Dricus. I don’t think sitting out should be rewarded ever. But it’s not my call, not my decision.”

Dana White Bows Out of Politics After Donald Trump’s Victory ‘It’s gross. It’s disgusting.’

UFC President Dana White will not be continuing his efforts to support Donald Trump publicly now that the campaign has wrapped up. The UFC and its stakeholders, such as Joe Rogan, were a cornerstone of the 2024 Donald Trump election, but Dana White is done with it all.

Dana White Done with Donald Trump

Dana White and Donald Trump’s friendship goes back some time. When the sport of MMA was outlawed at the turn of the century, most states did not allow the sport to happen. However, Donald Trump was willing to open his casino doors to the fledgling organization. Trump was once an enemy of the UFC when he was the shareholder behind rival MMA company Affliction, which was operated alongside Saint Petersburg’s M-1 and Michael Cohen.

But time heals all wounds because once Trump was back on the campaign trail, the UFC was there for him. Dana White would walk out with Trump during UFC events with the camera on him. On election night, White was alongside Trump and Elon Musk during the evening’s festivities. Dana White spoke that night and thanked Joe Rogan, UFC commentator for his vital support. Rogan welcomed Trump onto his podcast, which is the most listened-to talk show worldwide.

New York’s Donald Trump has an estimated net worth valued between three and ten billion dollars. Joe Rogan is said to have a net worth of $200m. Dana White has an annual salary of $20m and an estimated net worth of $500m with a partial ownership of the UFC. The rest of the UFC is owned by multi-national trillion-dollar private equity firms Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Silver Lake Partners, along with Endeavor which is a sports and talent agency.

With the election campaign wrapped up, Dana White is done with politics. At a UFC event, alongside Donald Trump, White spoke to The New Yorker and explained:

“I’m never f*ing doing this again. I want nothing to do with this s*. It’s gross. It’s disgusting. I want nothing to do with politics.” White added some ring kissing just for good measure, “Donald Trump is tougher and more badass than anybody.”

Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia’s Wealth Fund Chief Draw Attention at Star-Studded UFC Night

President-elect Donald Trump returned to Madison Square Garden on Saturday night to take in all the action at UFC 309, and he had plenty of company in the stands.

Joining the 45th and now 47th POTUS inside the world’s most famous arena were Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, Kid Rock, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and of course, Dana White.

Trump was also spotted on camera speaking with the head of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Yasir Al-Rumayya.

For those unfamiliar, the PIF is the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, which is controlled by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and governed by Al-Rumayyan. According to a report from Reuters, the PIF was estimated to have about $925 billion in assets in July.

The PIF has become a major player in global sports over the last several years. Aside from owning the Newcastle United football club, the fund was a major backer of LIV Golf and leveraged a merger with the PGA which is still being negotiated.

Saudi Arabia also hosts biannual WWE events and has seemingly taken over the world of boxing, putting together some of the biggest possible fights like Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, and Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol.

‘Bones’ hands Donald Trump His UFC Belt following third-round KO of Stipe Miocic

While the night gave us some pretty solid fights, including a brutal third-round body kick KO in the long-awaited main event between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, the entire night felt more like a love letter to Trump and his improbable defeat of Kamala Harris to once again take up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

‘Bones’ had the most egregious display of admiration for Trump, imitating his YMCA dance following his 28th career win and even going so far as to hand the 34-time convicted felon the UFC heavyweight championship belt.

Donald Trump Wanted to Manage UFC’s Rising Star Bo Nickal While Still President

Donald Trump is a big fan of Bo Nickal.

Though nothing is official, Nickal fully expects to see the future and future President of the United States sitting ringside when he returns to the Octagon this Saturday in Madison Square Garden. The three-time NCAA Division I national champion will face his toughest test to date at UFC 309 when he meets submission specialist Paul Craig.

Bo Nickal

Over the last few months, Trump has made it a point to bring up his admiration for Nickal in interviews and on social media.

Bo Nickal

Donald Trump wanted to manage Nickal’s career even before he made the move to MMA

As it turns out, the three-time GOP nominee’s love affair with the former Nittany Lion began back in 2019, long before Nickal stepped foot inside a cage.

“It started in 2019, I won the Nationals and got invited to the White House,” Nickal told Uncrowned. “I told him I was gonna fight, he asked me if I needed a manager and he would manage me for the fights. I was like, ‘I think you’re a little too busy.’ So it kinda started there and after my second fight in the UFC, he was in the crowd and invited me to come golf with him at Bedminster so I flew back to New Jersey that week, we golfed together, and since then he kinda likes me for whatever reason, I don’t know, and of course I loved hanging out with him.

“Loved spending time with him and learning and just talking about stuff. So we’ve hung out a bunch since then” (h/t MMA Mania).

Say what you want about Trump’s complete lack of leadership skills or the ability to form a cohesive sentence, but the man knows fighters.

Maybe once his days of mass deporting immigrants and stripping away the basic human rights of women and trans people are over, he can find himself a new career as a cutthroat MMA manager.

He and Ali Abdelaziz would probably get along very well.

Chaos” Colby Covington has been called out for his Donald Trump worship by UFC star Paddy Pimblett. Speaking in an exclusive interview with LowKickMMA and AceOdds, “The Baddy” did not mince words on his thoughts about Covington.

UFC welterweight Colby Covington has often taken photos with his idol Donald Trump when they are together at various golf courses. The US-born athlete has not been active in the octagon for some time as he asserts that he was campaigning with President-Elect Trump.

The next US President Donald Trump has long been a UFC and MMA fan. He even explained that his favorite fighters are Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Trump was vocally thankful for the support from UFC president Dana White.

The English-born UFC lightweight “The Baddy” Paddy Pimblett has noticed that Covington has been less active in the octagon and says that the American athlete should be embarrassed by his right-wing worship. In an exclusive interview with LowKickMMA, Pimblett explained:

“Colby Covington is a bad helmet. I’ll f***in punch Colby Carvington’s head. I will. I’m game to fight him. I’ll fight him at welterweight and I’ll f***in batter him.

“He’s probably talking all s**t in the video. He just sucks Donald Trump to the a***, doesn’t he? But I think he’s just doing that for publicity through Trump. Because he knows Trump’s going to be the president again. He’s just clinging on to Trump. Being a cling-on, when Trump doesn’t really care about him.

Pimblett is a former two-division champion in Cage Warriors and has been on a six-fight win streak in the UFC.

Colby Covington Reveals Why He’s Been MIA: ‘God and Country’ Over UFC Fights

It’s been almost a year since Colby Covington last competed inside the Octagon.

Considering how lackluster his performance was against then-welterweight champion Leon Edwards at UFC 296, fight fans haven’t exactly been clamoring for his return. Still, the three-time title challenger — who still somehow sits as the No. 6 ranked contender in the division — offered some insight into why he has been absent.

Colby Covington

“The most important reason why, everything I do is for God and country,” Covington told Submission Radio. “That’s more important than my own selfish agenda to go win UFC fights and be a world champion in the UFC. That doesn’t matter if we don’t have a country to live in. So, the most important thing that’s been in my life the last eight, nine months is the campaign trail, being a little tiny part of the Trump campaign.

“Trying to help get him elected any way possible. I was traveling with the campaign a lot. I was obviously still getting healthy from my broken foot, but first and foremost is God and country” (h/t MMA Mania).

Colby Covington is ready to get back to work inside the octagon

With Donald Trump coming out on top in Tuesday’s presidential election, Covington says it’s time to get back to work inside the Octagon.

“… Now I can resume business. I’m excited man, me and [UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell] have sat down and talked about a couple different options. I’m excited to get back in there, first quarter next year, 100% I’m coming back to the UFC Octagon to unleash chaos.”

Covington later revealed that he tried to weasel his way into an interim title fight, offering to step in and fight Shavkat Rakhmonov on short notice at UFC 310 following Belal Muhammad’s withdrawal.

Unfortunately for Covington, the UFC was not interested so he’ll instead focus on getting a win over another top-10-ranked opponent — something he currently does not have.
