Hurricane Helene Dana White

The President of the UFC Dana White opened his wallet and has now donated a whopping $100,000 to victims of Hurricane Helene, which has affected millions of people in the southeastern United States.

Hurricane Helene

Initially forming as a tropical storm, Helene intensified into a hurricane before making landfall on September 26, 2024, near Florida’s Big Bend region. There was widespread flooding and power outages across Florida and into southern Georgia.

Hurricane Helene struck with winds of approximately 140 mph (225 km/h). The hurricane’s impact was felt along the Gulf Coast, with flooding reported in various communities. In total, around 3.4 million people across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina faced power outage

Hurricane Helene Path

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region on Thursday, September 26. The storm moved through southern Georgia early Friday morning, September 27, weakening to a Category 2 hurricane with wind speeds up to 100 mph. It then continued northward through the Carolinas, Tennessee, and into Virginia, causing widespread flooding, wind damage, and power outages. By Saturday, September 28, Helene had weakened to a post-tropical cyclone but was forecasted to linger over the Tennessee Valley throughout the weekend.

Hurricane Helene emergency resources

President Biden approved major disaster declarations for Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, allowing affected individuals to access immediate financial support and resources for recovery. A recent stop-gap funding measure allocated $20 billion to FEMA for disaster relief efforts.

Various federal agencies, including the U.S. Coast Guard, Army Corps of Engineers, and Department of Health and Human Services, are providing support. Over 3,500 federal personnel have been deployed to support Hurricane Helene response efforts across impacted states, with more than 1,000 from FEMA.

FEMA has shipped over 1.9 million Meals Ready to Eat, more than 1 million liters of water, 30 generators, and over 95,000 tarps to affected areas. The federal government has made disaster assistance available to 17 counties in Florida, 25 counties in North Carolina, and 13 counties in South Carolina.

Dana White Donates $100,000

The billionaire Donald Trump has now raised over $1.6 million to help Hurricane Helene victims through his GoFundMe using crowdsourcing. Topping the list as one of the biggest donors is the UFC’s President Dana White. Dana White’s donation matches Bass Pro Shops and is well ahead of Kid Rock at $20,000. But, White is well behind Senator Kelly Loeffler who donated $500,000.

Dana White has been the longtime president of the UFC and has led it from the dark ages to the mainstream, as a partial owner of approximately 9% of the company. Currently, the UFC is valued at $12.1-12.3 billion.

Frank Shamrock UFC Legend Slams Elon Musk over Donald Trump Support: "Bulls*** ... Bro you are POS."

The UFC legend Frank Shamrock has taken aim at Elon Musk over his brazen support for Donald Trump, a presidential candidate in the upcoming US election.

Frank Shamrock

The legendary Frank Shamrock is a pioneer of Mixed Martial Arts and competed in the sport well before it was even named MMA. He began his professional career in 1994 and quickly made a name for himself as one of the first complete mixed martial artists. Shamrock transitioned from a ground-focused approach to a more versatile game that included striking and grappling techniques. The Mexican-American fighter was a trailblazer in both Pancrase and the UFC.

After going through the prison and foster care system in the USA, martial arts saved his life.

Shamrock became the first-ever UFC Middleweight Champion. During his impressive reign, he was ranked as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world. His professional record boasts notable victories against opponents such as Tito Ortiz, who he defeated in one of the greatest fights in UFC history.

In addition to his UFC success, Shamrock won titles in other major organizations, including the WEC, Pancrase, and Strikeforce. He became the first fighter to hold championships across all these major promotions.

However, Shamrock has not been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, despite being one of the clear and best picks for an entry. This is largely due to differences of opinion he has had with the organization’s president Dana White.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump

Initially, Elon Musk was critical of Trump, stating in 2016 that he believed Trump was “not the right guy” for the presidency and later distancing himself from the administration over environmental policy disagreements. However, their relationship began to shift when Trump appointed Musk to two economic advisory councils after winning the presidency. This collaboration was short-lived, as Musk resigned from these councils in 2017 in protest of Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.

Their relationship has taken a more amicable turn, with Musk endorsing Trump for the 2024 presidential election shortly after an assassination attempt on Trump. In August 2024, Musk even indicated his willingness to join Trump’s cabinet if asked.

“No bro. That’s the bullsh*t. You need to get off that Trump ball sack.”

He later added:

“Bro you are pos for sucking that’s mans nuts.”

On Donald Trump overall, Shamrock explained:

“Guy makes zero sense and spreads hate and fear. I want policy and support for our people. We are all Americans! That’s what a true leader does.”

Former UFC welterweight title challenger Colby Covington was in former U.S. President Donald Trump’s entourage for the Georgia vs. Alabama football game this weekend.

Covington was a guest of Trump’s at the Georgia vs. Alabama rivalry game on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. It was an instant classic from start to finish, but the home team walked away with the win as Alabama defeated Georgia 41-34.

Covington hasn’t fought in the UFC Octagon since a unanimous decision loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 296. He’s 0-3 in lineal UFC title bouts, including two losses to Kamaru Usman.

Colby Covington

Covington is a loyal supporter of Trump, stemming from the polarizing figure’s 2016 U.S. Presidential Election run. He visited The White House on multiple occasions during Trump’s term in office.

Trump sat cageside at Covington’s last fight at UFC 296. He’s an avid UFC fan, seen at UFC 299 and UFC 302 earlier this year.

Joe Rogan Heaps Praise on Kamala Harris for 'Very Good Showing' in Donald Trump Debate: 'She's Nailing It'

Joe Rogan was impressed with Kamala Harris’ showing during this month’s presidential debate.

The current Vice President of the United States went head-to-head with three-time GOP nominee and former U.S. President Donald Trump on September 10. According to a poll from CNN, 63% of viewers agreed that Harris turned in a better performance while onstage in Philadelphia than her opponent.

Joe Rogan on Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate

Looking back on the verbal smackdown via his JRE podcast, the longtime UFC commentator appeared to agree.

“She’s not dumb, by any stretch — see, people wanna say she’s dumb because she’s not good off the cuff when pressure is on her,” Rogan said while speaking with guest Tom Segura. “But you don’t understand what that kind of pressure is like. Like, the kind of pressure that that lady has been under for the last.

Let’s think about the pressure she’s been under for the last four years she’s been vice president. Everybody hates her. She; a lot of gaffes, a lot of dumb things. So every time she’s saying something, in the back of her head, she’s like, ‘Don’t f*ck this up. They’re going to come for you. They’re going to use this against you. Don’t say did you just fall out of a coconut tree. Don’t say that one again.’ You know what I mean? So there’s that kind of pressure. So it’s very hard off the cuff. But when you give her time and prepare her like last night … very good showing” (h/t Sportskeeda).

Joe Rogan insists Kamala Harris is ‘Nailing It’ Against Donald Trump

Though he has not gone so far as to endorse either candidate, Rogan has praised both Harris and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for their couth in recent weeks, something that infuriated Trump to the point that he called for UFC fans to boo the popular podcaster the next time he entered the Octagon.

Needless to say, that didn’t happen.

“Whoever’s helping her. Whoever’s coaching her. Whoever’s the puppet master running the strings, f*cking amazing job,” Rogan continued. “They did an amazing job from the moment Biden dropped out, forcing Biden to drop out. Whatever they’re doing, whoever is writing those speeches, getting her to deliver, coaching her. She’s nailing it.

“See, the difference in that debate was not a difference in, like, who’s gonna have better policies? Who’s gonna be better for the country? The … debate, in my opinion, was who was better prepared. She was way better prepared.”

Harris “gladly” accepted a second debate with Trump, but the 45th president quickly declined. Instead, the final debate of election season will see Trump’s VP selection, JD Vance, going toe-to-toe with Harris’ running mate and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Khamzat Chimaev Hopes Donald Trump is Elected, Blaming Democrats For Visa Issues

Khamzat Chimaev seems to think the Democrats are to blame for his lack of Stateside fights.

After a fast and furious start to his UFC career that saw him score three wins over the course of eight weeks, ‘Borz’ has barely averaged one fight per year since 2021 for a variety of reasons, most of them associated with his continued health problems.

Recently, Chimaev was scheduled to headline the promotion’s debut in Saudi Arabia on June 22 against Robert Whittaker but was forced to bow out after becoming “violently ill” with an undisclosed illness.

Khamzat Chimaev

Now, the undefeated Chechen star is expected back inside the Octagon on October 26 when the promotion heads back to Abu Dhabi for UFC 308 at Etihad Arena. Chimaev is once again slated to fight ‘The Reaper’ in what is being touted as a middleweight title eliminator, though ‘Borz’ isn’t entirely convinced that the UFC will make good on its promise.

“I don’t know we will see,” Chimaev told Alex Zubayraev. “They promise me a title eliminator every time… When I fought Gilbert Burns it was the No.1 contender fight. After the Kamaru Usman fight I didn’t get the title shot either. Now it’s the third time… Let’s see, hopefully” (h/t Sportskeeda).

Khamzat Chimaev

Chimaev isn’t entirely wrong in his statement, but if he’s truly looking for somebody to blame for his lack of title opportunities, he may want to take a look in the mirror. Chimaev has seen six previously scheduled matchups canceled over the last few years, at least four of them the result of his own illnesses or weight-cutting issues.

Another problem seems to be the fact that ‘Borz’ can’t get cleared to enter the United States due to his close relationship with Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov. However, Chimaev thinks much of that can be resolved should GOP nominee Donald Trump win the upcoming U.S. presidential election on November 5.

“As long as Donald Trump is not the president [of the United States] we can’t come back to the U.S. Maybe that’s the reason. Let’s not cover the truth. But I’m not upset. Whenever they let me fight I will fight. Whenever I get the belt let it be and even if I don’t get the belt I will still be the champion without the belt.”

Khamzat Chimaev moved to UAE in hopes of Resolving his travel dilemma

Earlier this year, Chimaev’s jiu-jitsu coach Alan Nascimento revealed that the fighter was in fact encountering difficulties entering the United States and has since moved to the United Arab Emirates to try and mitigate his travel-related issues.

“[Chimaev] just got a 10-year visa in Abu Dhabi and will apply for a type of passport here in the UAE, something like a citizenship, that could be used for travels,” Nascimento told MMA Fighting. “Many Russian athletes are suffering with that. Chechens, Dagestani, Russians in general. But I think things will start to flow for Chimaev soon, and for other athletes too.”

“Sports save lives. To see athletes, people that have never committed any crimes and are just trying to live life in a positive manner and serve as example for the next generations, to pay the price and be unable to work because of problems caused by other people, I don’t think it’s fair. I don’t think it’s right. People might condemn what I’m saying, but what does an athlete have to do with a war started by two people that have nothing to do with sports?”
