Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann both got the finish tonight at the O2 Arena in London, and came through for Drake on a huge bet that he placed.
Before the event even kicked off, Rap/pop icon Drake placed a bet of over $2 million dollars on a parlay that consisted of Pimblett and McCann both winning. Both McCann and Pimblett made short work of their opposition at UFC: London, while setting the crowd on fire. The two hometown heroes were able to finish both their opponents. McCann won her bout by TKO, while Pimblett was able to secure a fantastic rear naked choke, while securing Jordan Leavitt’s arm in the body triangle.
Drake will be gifting both Paddy Pimblett and ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann Rolex’s for their performances.
The dynamic duo have also received a $50k bonus for their performances as well.
Pimblett has moved to a perfect 3-0 inside the UFC and is still one of the biggest names inside the organization, in such a short time. His deal with ‘Barstool Sports’ has made his stock rise exponentially as well. The founder of the company, Dave Portnoy was in attendance for the fights, backing both McCann and Pimblett.
Pimblett will be looking to get back into the octagon as soon as possible, as he vowed he would get back into the octagon before the year was out. Leavitt is a really good fighter and no short task, but Pimblett was never in serious trouble. Even when he was on his back or in a bad position, Pimblett was the aggressor in the fight.
McCann on the other hand , set the place on fire with her outstanding striking performance. She had a beautiful spinning elbow, which set up a flurry of strikes to win the match. With their chemistry the two have in interviews together, it would be a crime to not schedule these two to fight on every card possible together.

Rap star, Drake has revealed he has slapped a whopping $1,000,000 wager on UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya to successfully defend his divisional title this weekend in the main event of UFC 276 – picking the Nigerian-Kiwi to score a triumph against Jared Cannonier.
Israel Adesanya, who headlines UFC 276 this weekend during International Fight Week, attempts to secure his fifth successful defense of the middleweight championship, taking on the #2 rated challenger, Cannonier.
Last time out, the City Kickboxing staple managed to hand former champion and two-time foe, Robert Whittaker a unanimous decision loss in the main event of UFC 271 in February.
On that same Toyota Center card, Cannonier eanred his premier title challenge under the promotion’s banner – knocking out common-opponent, Derek Brunson with a slew of brutal second round ground elbows.
Drake backs Israel Adesanya to land a win over Jared Cannonier — placing a $1,000,000 bet
Entering this weekend’s T-Mobile Arena showdown as a clear and distinct favorite, Adesanya spoke with the aforenoted rapper, Drake ahead of his fight with Cannonier – with the Canadian superstar revealing he has splashed a cool $1,000,000 bet on the former to defend his undisputed championship.
“I already know what time it is, you know, I put a light million up,” Drake said during a FaceTime call with Israel Adesanya. “The return on investment is a lot. I just wanna wish you luck and I love you, brother. You’re different, you’re a different guy, bro, I have a deep, deep, deep level of respect for you. … For sure, I gotta walk you out.”
“You know what’s crazy, I never walked anybody out before, I gotta walk you out,” Drake said. “We’ll figure something out. Good luck, brother – I’ll hit you up after the fight.”
Most notably in the past, Drake featured on the stage during the weigh-ins for UFC 229 in October 2018, accompanying former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor ahead of his title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The Drake curse lives on under the UFC banner. Earlier tonight, the rap star placed a $427,000 bet on Justin Gaethje to win the UFC 274 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this weekend (Sun, May 7, 2020). Gaethje challenged Charles Oliveira for the vacant 155-pound championship. Drake took to Instagram to show off his bet, which…
Earlier tonight, the rap star placed a $427,000 bet on Justin Gaethje to win the UFC 274 pay-per-view (PPV) main event this weekend (Sun, May 7, 2020). Gaethje challenged Charles Oliveira for the vacant 155-pound championship.
Drake took to Instagram to show off his bet, which would’ve won him $1 million had Gaethje came out on top.
However, when it was all said and done from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, Oliveira pulled off another first-round submission. Gaethje did have some success early on, knocking Oliveira down a few times and getting some big shots in. But the Brazilian rallied late, putting Gaethje down and locking up the rear-naked choke.
The dreaded “Drake Curse” continues, as the fighters Drake tends to throw his support behind usually end up losing. This has been the same for fighters such as Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor in the past. Drake was a big supporter of McGregor ahead of his 2017 boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Mayweather ended up finishing the Irishman in that bout. Drake also placed a $250,000 bet on Masvidal to beat Colby Covington at UFC 272. Of course, Covington ended up taking home a lopsided unanimous decision win.
With all that being said, whoever Drake decides to throw his support behind next, that fighter better take extra precautions when they step into the Octagon – as it’s not exactly the advocacy you want before a big fight given the history.

Justin Gaethje has the opportunity to leave Pheonix, Arizona, the undisputed lightweight champion, and none are more confident than Drake, who wagered a $550,00 bet on the challenger.
Worldwide rapper, Drake, is no stranger to betting large sums of money on high-profile UFC fights. The musical icon took it a step further when placing over half a million on tonight’s UFC 274 main event. Drake posted a screenshot on his Instagram of his bet, which noted Justin Gaethje defeating Charles Oliveira to attain the UFC lightweight title. If Gaethje is victorious in his quest, the returns would see Drake earn $1,375,000.
Looking at the time stamp on the bet slip, Drake locked in his ticket before Oliveira missed weight twice, forcing the belt to be vacated and making the Brazilian ineligible to leave with gold.
Can Justin Gaethje Break the Drake Curse?
It’s normally not a good sign when Drake is a topic of conversation on fight week, as several victims have been in the firing line of the ‘Drake curse’. From losing fights after being spotted with the rapper to being on his belt slip. At UFC 272, Drake lost $275,000 after expecting Jorge Masvidal to beat Colby Covington.
Does Drake know something we don’t? Will he be laughing all the way to the bank at UFC 274, or has he made a big mistake? Time will tell when Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira square off in the main event.
The UFC 272 headliners have both reacted to Drake’s whopping loss of $275,000 by betting on Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Covington. The UFC 272 headliners have both reacted to Drake’s whopping loss of $275,000 by betting on Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Covington.
After The Toronto Raptors won the 2019 NBA championship, it appeared “The Drake Curse” had been lifted. Drake was now free to publicly back athletes without them having to fend off the dreaded curse in addition to competing against their opponents.
Masvidal learned about Drake’s $275K loss and evidently felt bad for his role in it. So “Gamebred” has extended an invitation to Drake to have a dinner on him the next time he’s in Miami.
“Next time you in Miami dinner on me @Drake,” Masvidal posted on Twitter.
This time, it is Drake who has the opportunity to splurge on someone else’s budget for once. That budget has become much fatter after Masvidal signed a new deal with the UFC to reportedly become the third highest-paid athlete in UFC history.
Another UFC star who once promised to pay back a backer who lost money betting on him is Nate Diaz, who said he’d pay back a fan who allegedly lost his rent money betting on Diaz. Coincidentally, the fight in question also involved Masvidal in the UFC 244 BMF title fight in 2019 that saw Masvidal defeat Diaz via doctor’s stoppage.
Colby Covington Roasts Drake For Epic Loss
While Masvidal is hoping to treat Drake to a Miami dinner with the works, the man responsible for the loss, Colby Covington, is only hosting a roast.
When asked at the UFC 272 post-fight press conference if he respects Masvidal as a competitor after their fierce battle, Covington instead shifted gears to Drake’s failed bet.
“Let’s talk about all the money that Drake lost tonight,” Covington began. “He needs to go back to selling those shitty albums to get back the money. He should’ve went to America’s Pick of The Week by MyBookie. I tried to give the people the pick of the week. I’m America’s champ, and I was America’s pick of the week.
“Drake, you suck at sports betting. Go back to your shitty little albums of rapping.”
Drake’s most recent album, Certified Lover Boy, was released last September and has broken multiple records. Drake also has sold over 170 million albums and is frequently and currently the #1 most streamed music artist on Spotify. The Canadian rapper was also named Billboard Music Awards’ Artist of the Decade.
Nevertheless, Colby Covington is evidently not impressed with Drake’s catalog nor his sports-betting acumen. And as the self-proclaimed “King of Miami,” should Drake arrive in The Magic City to take Masvidal up on his offer, Covington might not be so hospitable should he cross paths with “The 6 God.”
What are your thoughts on Jorge Masvidal’s and Colby Covington’s reactions to Drake’s $275,000 losing bet?
