A mixed rules bout between DREAM Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki and K-1 World MAX 2010 -70kg Japan tournament winner Yuichiro “Jienotsu” Nagashima has been booked for Fighting and Entertainment Group’s end of year event, MMA Fighting has learned from sources.

The bout between two of Japan’s most eccentric lightweights will be contested under alternating rounds of MMA and K-1 rules as we first saw at Dynamite!! 2004, when Jerome Le Banner and Bob Sapp fought to a draw.

Le Banner may have missed out on a K-1 Finals berth on Saturday due to his temper tantrum against Kyotaro in Seoul, but the Frenchman will instead be appearing at Dynamite!! 2010, Le Banner’s management has told French website Ikusa.fr. The K-1 veteran will take on Dream light heavyweight GP finalist Tatsuya Mizuno in a mixed martial arts rules bout. Le Banner has not fought MMA since a 2006 victory of Jimmy Ambriz and has a notable 2005 win over current UFC standout Yoshihiro Akiyama.

Kawajiri is coming off a loss to Shinya Aoki for the DREAM title, losing to the champ by submission in the first round at DREAM.15 in July. Before that he had won four straight under the DREAM banner going 7-2 in his last nine bouts. K-1 and DREAM promoter Fighting Entertainment Group are starting to fall apart at the seams, and Gary Goodridge is the latest in a long line of fighters to come forward and confirm that.

Bibiano Fernandes, Andy Souwer, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and others on and off the record have stated over the past twelve months that they have not been paid in a timely fashion for fights under the FEG banner and although Goodridge first made his situation known back in August , he claims that he has still not received his compensation.

“It’s been almost a year since I fought Mousasi at FEG’s NYE show in Japan. I want my money. I stayed quiet because I thought they were going to pay me but I still haven’t seen a penny. I have bills I have to pay. I worked for the Japanese people for over a decade, and I never thought they would treat me like this.”

Bibiano FernandesDREAM featherweight champion Bibiano Fernandes (8-2) is set to defend his title for the second time at the upcoming New Year’s Eve Dynamite!!! 2010 event in Japan. He’s slated to face Japanese opponent Hiroyuki Takaya (14-8-1) in a rematch of their 2009 Featherweight Grand Prix Final match, and is expecting nothing less than a “war” when both men step into the ring.

Bibiano spoke to Tatame.com about his preparations for Takaya and his expectations for the fight.

“He’s a tough guy, but nowadays everybody’s tough, it’s hard. He has good hands, but I have to be the best plan I can use against him, set things straight, be pretty sharp. I have to be prepared to exchange with him, do what I do: mixing Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling…He’s a slippery guy, knows how to defend himself, knows how to escape from the positions when he’s got his back on the floor and then stand up and go for the trade of punches. I’ll do what I can do: if I can submit him, it’s cool. I’ll do whatever it is I can do to win that fight. The guys is a hard one, do I have to do everything right to win this fight. He’s too emotional, he can screw things up with that. He’ll bring much emotion to the fight, he’ll come forward, he’ll like to hit me a lot, so let’s see what happens.”

Check out the rest of Bibiano’s comments as he discusses the WEC-UFC merger and his thoughts on their featherweight champ José Aldo.

Bibiano won the DREAM title at the DREAM.11 – Featherweight Grand Prix 2009 Finals by defeating Takaya by split decision. He would then go on to defend his title against former lightweight champ Joachim Hansen at DREAM.13 by split decision also.
