According to a report by ESPN, the UFC is in advanced talked to have new owners.

The report states that four bidders have submitted bids for the organization, which Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta hold majority stake in. The two brothers, along with Dana White and Flash Entertainment are joint owners.

“As a private company, we don’t discuss speculation or rumors related to our business,” UFC vice president of public relations Dave Sholler said.

Chinese-based Dalian Wanda Group is believed to be the leader with a bid between $3.5-4 billion. Chariman Wang Jianlin is the richest man in China, worth nearly $35 billion.

Last year, Wanda bought 20-percent of soccer power Atletic Madrid and is a FIFA partner. They also are owners of Legendary Entertainment, a major Hollywood film studio.

Along with Wanda, WME/IMG, The Blackstone Group and China Media Capital are believed to be the other bidders.

The UFC was founded in 1993 by Art Davie, Campbell McLaren, Rorion Gracie and Bob Meyrowitz. In 2001, the Fertittas bought the UFC for $2 million and created Zuffa, LLC, which has controlled the promotion since.

Under the guidance of the Fertittas and White, the promotion has grown into a major force. They have purchased several other MMA promotions along the way and continue to build UFC Fight Pass as an all-digital service.

By now everyone has heard the rumors regarding a potential boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and “The Notorious” one seems to be well-aware of that fact.

McGregor took to social media this weekend to fuel the rumors, as he posted an unofficial fight poster for the rumored McGregor-Mayweather bout on Instagram.

It’s worth noting that despite online rumors, which stem from a report by The Sun out of the U.K., UFC President Dana White has stated that there is no truth to the McGregor-Mayweather boxing match rumors. MMAFighting.com reporter Ariel Helwani has also noted that there is nothing to the rumors.

Regardless, that doesn’t seem to be stopping McGregor, as he continues to use the rumors to his advantage. Below is the aforementioned fight poster that McGregor put up on Instagram on Saturday.

Paige VanZant On Rousey Cussing Her Out: “Very Shocking & Totally Unnecessary”

As reported earlier this week, Miesha Tate told a story during her appearance on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast that involved Paige VanZant telling her about the time she was cussed out by Ronda Rousey at a VIP event for congratulating Holly Holm on beating her at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.

For those who missed the original story, the following is what Miesha Tate told Joe Rogan during her appearance on his podcast this week:

“[Paige] came up to me like, ‘Miesha, I have to tell you this experience I had with Ronda.’ I’m like, oh, what? She was like, ‘well, we were at Reebok deal recently, we were at a shoot and I was trying to find her so we could get a picture. And the Reebok people were like, ‘don’t ask Ronda for a picture.’ She was like, why? They’re like, ‘just don’t. Just stay away from Ronda. Don’t ask her for a picture.’

“I guess Ronda came later that day and sought her out and just cussed her out. Like, they had never really had a conversation either. [Paige] was like, ‘I don’t know Ronda other than hi/bye. That’s it.’ I guess Ronda came up and was like, ‘fuck you, you fair-weather bitch! How dare you cross me? Blah, blah, blah.’ She was like, ‘cross you? What are you talking about?’ And [Ronda] was like, ‘you congratulated Holly Holm for beating me, so fuck you, you fucking fair-weather 115-pound…’ Just went off on Paige. Paige came and told me and I was like, honey, welcome to my world.

“She was like, ‘oh my gosh, I’m glad that I saw this side of her so I know, because I didn’t understand. I told Ronda, I’m sorry if that offended you, but I’m allowed to congratulate whoever I want. I congratulated Rose Namajunas when she beat me. I was like, you know, you whooped my ass. That was a badass performance. I just simply told Holly congratulations once. It wasn’t anything anti-Ronda.’ But Ronda, I guess, just ripped her a new one.”

When asked by celebrity-gossip website TMZ.com about the story Tate told, UFC Women’s Strawweight contender and “Dancing With The Stars” participant Paige VanZant offered the following response:

“It appears that I offended Ronda by congratulating Holly after her victory. The incident was very shocking and totally unnecessary.”
