Although Wanderlei Silva has been under lock and key for over a year now by the UFC, now the ex-Pride FC champ fulfil this writer’s dream fight…

UFC and Pride FC legend Wanderlei Silva ran in to trouble in 2014, as he fled the Nevada State Athletic Commission dope test when they turned up at his gym in Brazil. Causing a whole world of trouble for the UFC, meaning The Ultimate Fighter Finale and following UFC 175 main event’s got scrambled, and eventually going full villain against the promotion that once made him a millionaire.

Indeed Silva had the hump with the UFC, and would go on to accuse the promotion and Dana White of fixing fight, screwing the fighters and monopolizing the market. Well at his re-hearing with the NAC today, ‘The Axe Murderer’ got some great news. No longer was he restricted to the contract the UFC held over him, and he was now free to fight again. His words:

“I was wrong, apologize. In July of last year, I posted a number of comments on Facebook and Twitter, which included repeated claims that the UFC ‘fixed fights’ and that I could ‘prove it.’ I hereby retract any such statements in their entirety as I failed to understand that the term ‘fight-fixing’ specifically refers to the illegal action or practice of dishonestly determining the outcome of a contest before it occurs. I understand the UFC’s reputation would be harmed if my fans and others actually believed the UFC engaged in fight fixing, and I have no evidence to support such a claim. I apologize for any misunderstanding my comments may have caused.”

His Attorney

“It’s a good day for Wanderlei,” attorney Ross Goodman told MMA Fighting. “We were able to get his lawsuit settled and more importantly, we got Wanderlei released from the UFC. Now he’s free to do whatever he wants to do.”

There’s been much talk of Silva joining Bellator MMA as a middleweight, to the rejoive of many of his fans. He won’t have to tread over the minefield of the new Reebok owned UFC landscape, and also has a great chance at winning the championship over at BMMA, and potentially reviving some of his previously dominant glory days.

So what do you think, could Silva be a force outside the UFC? How about a fight against Fedor Emelianenko at openweight? Now that would be amazing. It’s a fight I persoanlly have wanted to see for so many years, and the new Rizin Fighting Federation ran by the ex-Pride owner could blast the poor numbers of their first show out of the water with this fight!

Stay tuned.

Antonio Silva’s Manager Admits to Use of Mind Control Games to Beat Fedor

You know what they say about big heads? Big brains! And apparently Antonio Silva’s got one big sharp brain he used to beat Fedor Emelianenko. Fighters Only produced this interview from Fedor’s coach, Vladimir Voronov in which he blames “forbidden psychological technologies” that “could not be seen by the naked eye” for Fedor’s loss. Voronov’s interview was given to Russian website, Lifesports.Ru and we’re not sure how good the translation provided is, but here’s what it looked like at Fighters Only:

“We believe that forbidden psychological technology was used… It seems to us that not everything was right, and that certain technologies were used. Not ones that could be seen by the naked eye but psychological technologies that worked on both fighters at a distance. That is why during the fight Fedor was just not like himself. It seemed very strange behaviour from Fedor. He stepped into the ring and did everything exactly the opposite of what we practiced before the fight. We were all shocked! Fedor had never previously done such a thing. Now nearly a week passes, everything settles, and we understand why all this happened.”

The article goes on to say “‘Voronov also observed with suspicion the fact that Fedor seemed to look “a little depressed” while Silva “literally glowed from the overflowing of his energy”. Voronov suspects the use of a person or persons in the audience capable of “blocking energy” and “transferring energy from one person to another’”

In reaction to all this serious suspicion, Antonio “Big Foot” Silva’s manager Alex Davis turned to the underground forums of MixedMartialArts.com to admit to the mind games! Davis said:

“Jeez!! I got [caught!] I will have to come out with the truth now! I hired a Macumbeiro and we killed a black chicken on the crossroads. After this, over a few beers, I showed the witch doctor Fedor’s fights, and he was worried that a chicken wouldn’t be enough, so we went out and killed a black goat just to make sure! Very potent stuff! Really messed Fedor’s brain waves up! We wanted to try that other military stuff Voronov is talking about, but it’s expensive technology and we were broke! The chicken and the goat came out way cheaper. Witch doctor is a friend; [he] did it for a few beers and an autograph!”

Now we at Fix get it… haha Davis is mocking the accusations…. but they do say that people who are lying use a lot of detail in their stories. And this above, my friends, is a lot of detail from Alex Davis. So we’re gonna go ahead and side with the crazy Russians here and bank on that mind control theory. We just hope the athletic commissions figure out some kind of mind control testing as a future preventative measure.

Fedor Emelianenko is pushed against the cage by Antonio Silva.EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The long and historic career of Russian heavyweight star Fedor Emelianenko was filled with moments where he fought back from the brink of defeat, only to vanquish a bigger foe. But every great runs out of comebacks at some point, and for the second fight in a row, Emelianenko could not find the magic that had been the hallmark of his legendary run.

Emelianenko took a hellacious pounding in the second round of his Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix opening round fight against Antonio Silva, and though he managed to survive the beating, it might have been the last round of his career. In between rounds, the fight was stopped due to swelling around his right eye that compromised his vision, and after dropping his second straight fight, Emelianenko admitted he might have fought for the last time.

“Yes, maybe it’s the last time,” the 34-year-old said moments after the fight. “Maybe it’s high time. Thank God for everything. I spent a great, beautiful long sporting life. Maybe it’s God’s will.”

Heavyweight great Fedor Emelianenko will leave it up to observers and pundits to determine who the No. 1 heavyweight in the world is following the conclusion of the 2010 Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Should the winner of the tournament be ranked higher than the UFC heavyweights?

“That’s probably something the specialists and commentators should decide,” Fedor said Thursday on a conference call promoting his upcoming quarterfinal bout against Antonio Silva.

Even when Fedor was considered the general consensus No. 1 heavyweight for the many years prior to his loss last June to Fabricio Werdum, Fedor has never been one to rank himself above everyone in his division.

“I never believed I was the best fighter in the world,” Fedor said.
