A new streaming service is slated to bring together sports like never before.

Per a report from Variety, Fox Corp., Warner Bros. Discovery, and Disney are teaming up to deliver a one-stop-shop for sports fans looking to get every game without needing four different subscriptions. The app — expected to launch this fall — will bring ESPN, TNT, and Fox Sports under one umbrella, including the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

No details regarding the price have been released, but the service will provide subscribers with access to “ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV and ESPN+, as well as hundreds of hours from the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, and many top college divisions.”

The service will be available to all ESPN+, Hulu, and Max subscribers and will reportedly be split into thirds for each company to have ownership, licensing sports content “on a non-exclusive basis.”

CEOs of Disney, Fox, and Discovery Release statements Regarding new partnership

“The launch of this new streaming sports service is a significant moment for Disney and ESPN, a major win for sports fans, and an important step forward for the media business,” Disney CEO, Bob Iger, said. “This means the full suite of ESPN channels will be available to consumers alongside the sports programming of other industry leaders as part of a differentiated sports-centric service.”

“We believe the service will provide passionate fans outside of the traditional bundle an array of amazing sports content all in one place,” said Lachlan Murdoch, CEO of Fox Corp.

“This new sports service exemplifies our ability as an industry to drive innovation and provide consumers with more choice, enjoyment, and value and we’re thrilled to deliver it to sports fans,” said David Zaslav, Warner Bros. Discovery’s CEO.

You can now buy UFC pay-per-views on Amazon Prime after WME-IMG and Amazon executives came to a deal, according to Sports Business Daily.

The UFC’s television deal with FOX is up soon with the option of renewal, meanwhile, it’s been speculated that Amazon is looking to get into live sports, so who knows what could come of this deal.

FOX currently pays about $200 million a year to broadcast live UFC content, with many events being featured on FS1 and 2, two channels that only come with a premium cable package. Amazon Prime, on the other hand, is available to anyone with internet access, which would certainly broaden their accessibility.

Before the UFC even dreamed of a deal with FOX, they were broadcast live on SPIKE TV up until 2011, when the UFC officially made the switch.

Will Amazon pony up upwards of $200 million a year like FOX is to broadcast live UFC events? Or do you see FOX and the UFC coming to terms on a new deal?

It’s a very Merry Christmas for the UFC and the Fox Network this morning. According to reports, the overnight ratings for the UFC 206 rebroadcast on the main Fox network Christmas Eve are in, and the network scored big. Approximately 4.689 million viewers tuned in for the broadcast. Keep in mind that overnight ratings are subject to change, and the final number may be adjusted later. These ratings also do not take into consideration DVR viewership, which can add viewers after the fact.

Either way, it’s great news for Fox and the UFC. UFC 206 took place December 10th in Toronto, and the much-maligned card wound up being an over achiever that produced the UFC Fight of the Year in DooHo Choi vs. Cub Swanson. Matt Brown vs. Cowboy Cerrone, the night’s co-main event, also made the cut for the UFC’s Top 10 fights of the year.

In the main event, Max Holloway scored a TKO victory over Anthony Pettis to secure the interim Featherweight championship.

The importance of this event performing well on Fox cannot be understated, as UFC owners WME-IMG are currently in the early stages of shopping around for a new television deal. Whether the promotion remains with Fox, moves elsewhere, or splits content between networks, ratings will likely be more important than ever over the next year.

As a point of comparison, UFC on Fox 1, featuring a title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos, averaged 5.7 million viewers. However recent Fox cards have brought in 2 to 3 million viewers a show. That a previously recorded show having already aired on PPV could bring in such a high number is remarkable.

UFC Fight Night 89 goes down tomorrow night (Saturday June 18, 2016) from the TD Place Arena in Ottawa, Canada. It’s weigh-in day here at LowKickMMA.com, and there’s a host of well known names set to hit the scales at 5 PM ET. Although officially they’ll be weighing in this morning, we will now get to see the new format of the weigh-in show as we did at UFC 199, meaning less dehydrated zombies on show.

The main event pits welterweight contenders Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson and Rory MacDonald against each other in a battle for that 170-pound title fight. The Canadian MacDonald hasn’t seen action since his gruelling five round war with Robbie Lawler at UFC 189, but could well set himself up for a trilogy fight with a victory on home turf. It’s been a whole different story for Thompson, who has knocked out Johny Hendricks and Jake Ellenberger to cap off his current six fight win streak.

The co-main event for the evening sees dangerous strikers Donald Cerrone and Patrick Cote go to war. ‘Cowboy’ will look to improve to 2-0 at 170 pounds after choking Alex Oliveira in February, and ‘The Predator’ is currently riding three straight, including stoppage wins over Josh Burkman and Ben Saunders.

There’s a host of other well known names and former title challengers on the card, so you won’t want to miss this weekend’s action in Canada.

Tune in live at 5 PM ET for the live streaming UFC Ottawa weigh-ins, or check in right after for the updated results!
