Gilbert Burns and Josh Thomson fired back at Nate Diaz following his post-UFC 254 tweets.

Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Justin Gaethje with a triangle choke in the second round of their lightweight title unification fight on Saturday.

Diaz was not impressed, however, as he fired shots at Nurmagomedov along with Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier following the event.

The most recent tweet came on Sunday when he claimed Nurmagomedov was 29-1 with the one loss coming to him after an altercation the pair had a few years ago.

That led to many fans mocking Diaz and some fighters and ex-fighters also joined in like Burns and Thomson who responded with pictures of Diaz getting beaten up.

“Just stop @NateDiaz209,” Burns replied.

Burns has notably gone back-and-forth with Diaz in the past after the Stockton native played him down as a worthy title challenger. “Durinho” would fire back by mocking the number of losses on Diaz’s record on that occasion.

Meanwhile, Thomson — the only fighter to finish Diaz via strikes — also responded with a picture of the head kick that led to the latter’s defeat in their fight. Thomson is notably a teammate of Nurmagomedov’s at American Kickboxing Academy.

“Ssshhh….. ?

With just two fights since the start of 2017, Diaz certainly isn’t helping himself with these tweets.

What do you make of these interactions?

Gilbert Burns Fumes As Colby Covington Leapfrogs Him In The Rankings

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington moved up in the official rankings after becoming the first man to stop former champ Tyron Woodley in almost a decade at UFC Vegas 11 this past weekend. Covington is now the number one contender at welterweight after his fifth-round TKO win over Woodley.

He moved ahead of Gilbert Burns who previously picked up a dominant decision win over ‘The Chosen One’ and is now thought to be fighting welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, at UFC 256 later this year.

Burns was not a happy man after hearing ‘Chaos’ has leapfrogged him in the UFC rankings. The Brazilian took to social media to vent his frustrations and call on UFC president Dana White to hurry up and make his welterweight title shot official, he wrote.

“U gotta be kidding me! I beat Woodley when he was N1, than Colby came watches my fight do what I did n now he ranks higher than me? He just beat the number 5 and a guy coming from 2 loses n without a soul! Who does this Rankings? @danawhite send me the contract ASAP #AndNew.”

Burns like many has beef with the outspoken Covington. In the build-up to his fight against Demian Maia back in March, Burns made it very clear that settling the score in a fight with Covington was top of his wish list, he said.

“I am still focused on Maia but I really want to put my hands on Colby Covington. He talks so much crap about Brazil and I think it will be a great callout after I beat Maia. I don’t like what Colby has been saying about Kamaru (Usman), Brazil, and my former manager Glenn Robinson. I want to put my hands on him sooner or later. If I finish Maia he has to accept it. I have my right hand and my jiu-jitsu and I can finish Colby if we fought.”

Who do you think should be the number one contender at welterweight? Colby Covington or Gilbert Burns?

Gilbert Burns has dropped a hint that Michael Chandler is UFC bound after USADA showed up to the gym.

Ever since Chandler knocked out Benson Henderson and became a free agent many wondered what would be next for him. Many fans wanted to see him compete in the UFC and it appears those fans might be getting their wish as Burns posted a video of USADA at the gym followed by him showing Michel Chandler smiling.

“What’s going on here?” Burns wrote in a recent Tweet.

Michel Chandler would no doubt be a big signing for the UFC and could easily make his debut against someone in the top-10 of the lightweight division. For the former Bellator lightweight champion, he made it clear from the beginning that he was going to test free agency.

“There is an exclusive negotiation period. Ours is short, and you can also get it waved,” Chandler said to MMAFighting about a month ago. “At this point, not that I’m not here to negotiate with Bellator, but as I’ve said before, I like the idea of going to ONE FC, finishing the trilogy with Eddie and fighting across the world. I love the idea of fighting all the top-10 guys in the UFC, I love the idea of staying with Bellator for the next 10 fights, getting a job behind the mic and being the most decorated Bellator fighter of all-time.

“But Scott Coker had the opportunity to sign me five months ago, six months ago, four months ago before this fight happened, and it didn’t happen. So there’s not a huge time that we need to sit here and negotiate, Scott. You had the opportunity, you let me go into free agency. You said I’m not 21 years old anymore but I just finished the best lightweight you have on the roster besides me. I don’t really understand why it needs to be any longer than right now. Let me see what I’m worth.

“What will ONE FC offer me? What will PFL, the UFC offer me? Maybe Dana thinks I suck. Maybe Chatri’s like, “Maybe that trilogy with Eddie sounds cool, but we don’t want to pay you that much.’ Maybe that’s the case. I doubt it, but let me go see what I’m worth.”

Whether or not Chandler has indeed signed with the UFC is unknown at this point.
