Dana White

Dana White has revealed a Memphis by a bar owner who had been illegally pirating the UFC threatened to shoot him.

The UFC has been targeting illegal streamers of its event since the early 2010s, in 2014 the promotion was able to track down a supposed pirate and sue him for $12,000. Fast forward to 2022 and the UFC continues to be hunting down streamers.

After a recent appearance of Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, White relived one of the worst experiences he has had dealing with these streamers.

“We caught a lot of people and prosecuted people for it. It’s a whole ‘nother f—ng ballgame. (One) guy’s calling me up, crying, begging me not to do it. And these were guys that were doing it in bars. Their bars were stealing,” he said.

Dana White Reveals Near Fatal Memphis Trip

Dana White revealed on one occasion in Memphis things nearly took a serious turn for the worst.

“This is a true story. (We were in) Memphis, Tennessee, and we were doing Lookin’ For a Fight,” White recounted. “We were doing this wrestling thing and apparently, a guy on that street, I put his bar out of business. And they were threatening that if I walked out, they were gonna shoot me.

“If I walked out and did this f—ng skit we’re gonna do for Lookin’ For a Fight, they were gonna shoot me.”

The UFC are still searching for those illegally broadcasting their events, but White realises how difficult this has become due to how knowledgeable these streamers are.

“The kids are way ahead of it. You have to be persistent, and you really have to go after people. You can put that thing on the f—ng TV that says ‘If you get caught pirating this event…’ it’s a different story when you f—ng get caught.”

You can expect these streamers to continue to show themselves given the announcement to increase PPV prices at the beginning of the year.

Are PPV’s priced too highly?

Cody East has been charged with child abuse, false imprisonment, and battery.

First reported by KRQE, Cody East had a domestic violence incident with his wife, taking place over the weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A criminal complaint was filed by his wife, alleging East got into a fight with her and refused to allow her and their kids to get out of the car while making threatening comments.

East is set for a preliminary hearing on April 26th after being released from the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center on Tuesday, due to “Release on Commitment”

After signing with the UFC from “Dana White: Looking for a Fight”, East had a short-lived tenure in the promotion fighting only twice. In April of 2016 he fought Walt Harris and suffered a first round TKO defeat, following a second round TKO defeat to Curtis Blaydes in October of the same year.

Since his departure from the UFC, East has gone 1-4 his fights bringing his career record to 13-7. His most recent outing was a first round KO loss to Michael Quintero in June 2021 under the RUF MMA banner.

Cody East Has a Long History with the Law

The 33-year-old has had a troubling history with the law. In 2008 he was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading no-contest for child abuse. He also had been arrested for domestic violence in 2006 and 2010 but ultimately did not get prosecuted. East has also faced sexual assault charges twice. In 2016 he faced charges for aggravated battery and assault against a household member and false imprisonment.

What do you make of Cody East’s latest run-in with the law?

Paddy Pimblett Topuria

Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria found themselves in a heated exchange after passing by one another in one of the fighter hotels.

The pair were documented having a minor altercation before others stepped in to separate the pair.

Robbie Fox spoke to Pimblett following the incident and he broke down exactly what happened and why Topuria and his team acted in the way they did.

“If he wanted to do something, he would have come round the table and try to do something. But he knew full well, he hasn’t got the balls to do anything… I stood me ground and stood there with six mandem staring at me and was saying, ‘What? Come and do something!’ And not one of them done a thing. Gang of maggots.” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda.com)

You can watch the altercation between the pair here:

Paddy Pimblett detailed the reasoning for their conflict is regarding an offensive tweet Pimblett put about Georgians being terrorized by Russia. Since then, Pimblett has gone on to apologise for and delete the tweet.

Paddy Pimblett: Topuria “Made Himself Look Like An Idiot”

The Liverpool-based fighter also said he felt Topuria had made himself look like an idiot by uploading the footage which doesn’t show him in the best way.

“He just made himself look like an idiot, to be honest. Made himself look like an idiot. He’s made a mockery out of it. He’s made himself look stupid. And the worst thing is, he’s not even Georgian. He lives in Benidorm. You live in Spain; you know what I mean? You little sausage. You’re not even Georgian. He goes on like he’s Georgian, he’s German, he’s Spanish. What are you lad? Make your mind up!”

Both men will have to put these issues aside for now as they set themselves ready for this weekend’s fight. Pimblett will be looking to get past Kazula Vargas as he continues to try and make a name for himself at lightweight. Ilia Topuria is set to make his lightweight debut this weekend against Jai Herbert, if he can get past Herbert, I imagine many fans will be wanting to see him face ‘The Baddy’ next.

Who would win in a potential fight? Paddy Pimblett or Ilia Topuria?

Tom Aspinall

Tom Aspinall has praised ‘The Gypsy King’ for the support he gave him through the early stages of his career.

Tom Aspinall is set to headline UFC London this weekend taking on Alexander Volkov spoke to Sky Sports regarding the influence Fury was able to have on him.

Tom Aspinall On Tyson Fury’s Influence

“I think Tyson Fury has helped me the most mentally, obviously I improved a lot in my skillset. My boxing improved. He brought me a long way skill-wise.

“But more so mentally, like, if Tyson Fury ever gets a watch of this thank you. I’ve never actually had the chance to thank him for it, like he has completely changed my career and the outlook for what I’ve got on combat and at fighting.

“Without him, I wouldn’t be where I am now all because my mentality has changed completely since I trained with him. It was quite a long time ago now; I was in my early twenties and wasn’t sure if I wanted to carry on with this sport or box or stop fighting altogether, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. He completely changed my whole outlook on everything so yeah I appreciate it.”

It seems a good thing that Fury was able to convince Tom Aspinall to either continue or look to pursue MMA because the UFC heavyweight is beginning to come into his own now. Alexander Volkov will be the toughest test to date for Aspinall who currently sits 11th in the heavyweight rankings. However, if he can overcome this, he would certainly guarantee himself Volkov’s slot at number 6 and put himself one giant step closer to a chance at UFC gold.

Fury will be supporting Aspinall when he steps into the octagon this weekend in the hopes his former training partner and friend can get the job done.

Does Tom Aspinall get past Alexander Volkov this weekend?

Kevin Lee Donald Trump

Kevin Lee has revealed he would like Donald Trump to pick the next opponent he will face in Eagle FC.

Following on from his unanimous decision victory over Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46 the former UFC fighter revealed he wants Trump to be involved when it comes to finding him his next challenge. Lee was able to secure the victory over Sanchez despite sustaining damage to his knee that he suffered within the first round.

Lee then caught viewers off guard during his post-fight interview in which he would reveal his interest in having Donald Trump involved.

“I hear Donald Trump is starting to get back into promoting,” Lee stated. “So, it would be fun if he picked the next opponent.”

Trump has had experience within the fight industry previously. The 45th U.S. President owned a large amount of equity stake in Affliction Entertainment who hosted multiple MMA events. Trump himself would appear at some of these events and promote them during the promotion short stay from 2008-2009.

If Lee is correct and Donald Trump is making a return to the MMA world, it will be interesting to see where he ends up at.

Kevin Lee: ‘I’m The Best 165er Out Here’

Kevin Lee was able to secure himself a successful debut victory over Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46 despite suffering an injury and it seems this victory has boosted ‘The Motown Phenom’s confidence by some way. Following on from his win Lee used his post-fight interview to stake his claim at a shot for the title.

“There’s no doubt, I’m the best 165er out here,” Lee stated. “The best guy for anyone who wants to weigh 165.” (Transcribed by Middleeasy.com)

Given the birth of the new 165lbs division it may not be long before Kevin Lee obtains the first chance to secure the Eagle FC super lightweight title and deliver on his promise of being the best.
