Reigning UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski has leaped to the defense of social media star, Hasbulla Magomedov – after former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor, claimed he wanted to kick the Russian teenager over a goal post.

Volkanovski, the current undisputed featherweight champion, most recently co-headlined UFC 276 back in July during International Fight Week, handing three-time foe, former champion, Max Holloway a unanimous decision loss in the pair’s title trilogy matchup.

As for McGregor, the recently turned 34-year-old striker has been sidelined since July of last year, headlining UFC 264 against former interim lightweight titleholder, Dustin Poirier – dropping a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO defeat after he fractured his left tibia in the closing stages of the first frame.

Recently, footage emerged showing 19-year-old social media star, Hasbulla Magomedov, slapping featherweight champion, Volkanovski in the face with a burger during a recent visit to the champion’s native Australia.

And whilst the featherweight kingpin appears to have taken Hasbulla’s latest cunning assault in good jest, McGregor unleashed a tirade of tweets at the youngster on Wednesday night, calling him “inbred” and threatening to kick him.

“I’d love to boot that little g*mp Hasbulla over a goal post,” Conor McGregor tweeted. “How much to get him on the volley? I’m gonna make it my mission to score a 3 pointer with him one day, hon the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association).”

Alexander Volkanovski warns Conor McGregor from provoking Hasbulla

Jumping to the defense of Hasbulla, Volkanovski, who has found himself somewhat linked to a potential lightweight excursion against McGregor amid his continued success at the Dubliner’s former featherweight stomping ground, insisted the latter would have to go through him first, in order to get to Hasbulla.

“You’ll have to go through me first,” Alexander Volkanovski tweeted. “Leave my mate alone, @TheNotoriousMMA (Conor McGregor).”

Expected to remain sidelined until next year as he targets an Australian homecoming, Volkanovski has been linked with both title defenses against either Yair Rodriguez or Josh Emmett next.

While most members of the mixed martial arts community seem to enjoy his presence, one Irish superstar does not.

Conor McGregor wants to ‘score a 3-pointer’ with Hasbulla Magomedov

“The Notorious” lived up to his nickname in a recent string of now-deleted tweets aimed at Hasbulla.

“I’d love to boot that little gimp hasbulla over a goal post,” McGregor wrote. “How much to get him on the volley? Little smelly inbred. I’m gonna make it my mission to score a 3-pointer with him one day, hon the gaa.”

Hasbulla responded to Conor McGregor

Hasbulla came across the unexpected tirade from McGregor and threw some verbal jabs of his own to heat up the budding rivalry.

“I don’t follow bums… didn’t know someone was running their mouth. @ me next time,” he responded to McGregor.

After he noticed that McGregor got rid of his tweets, Hasbulla appeared to declare himself the winner of the online matchup and mocked McGregor for it.

“At least one of us maintained an undefeated record @TheNotoriousMMA Hasbulla 1 Conor 0.”

Hasbulla appeared to get the last word in the exchange. McGregor did not respond further to the messages and no clear motive stood out other than the possibility of the former two-division UFC champion taking issue with the pint-sized influencer’s recent videos, including one where he slapped the reigning featherweight champion and pound-for-pound king Alexander Volkanovski in the face with a burger. Although Volkanovski took the incident in stride, playing along for the fans, some were not happy with Hasbulla’s actions, and that may include McGregor.

Hasbulla, a hugely-popular social media figure recently grabbed the headlines again earlier this month, after footage emerged of the Russian teenager striking four-time NBA champion and former LA Lakers star, Shaquille O’Neal in the face whilst the two travelled on a boat.

The 19-year-old, who attended UFC 267 back in October of last year on ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi, UAE, sat front row at the Etihad Arena, before he was brought into the Octagon by lightweight challenger, Islam Makhachev and lofted into the air following his submission win over Dan Hooker.

In his latest social media viral attempt, footage has emerged of Hasbulla sitting alongside New South Wales tactician and UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski – before leaning in and smashing a burger into the Australian’s face, before rubbing the contents into his face with a couple of napkins.

Riding a promotional-perfect Octagon tenure to date, Alexander Volkanovski has landed an incredible 12-fight winning streak since his November 2016 UFC debut.

Currently sat upon both the featherweight throne and the official men’s pound-for-pound list in the UFC, Volkanovski recently capped his trilogy with former featherweight champion, Max Holloway – turning in a dominant unanimous decision win over the Hawaiian favorite in the co-main event of UFC 276 back in July during International Fight Week.

The Freestyle Fighting Gym stalwart and Joe Lopez product is still recovering from a fractured hand suffered in his summer showdown with Holloway, however, has been linked with a slew of potential title defenses against the likes of Yair Rodriguez, and Josh Emmett in his return from injury.

Alexander Volkanovski eyes an eventual lightweight division leap

Volkanovski has also expressed his interest in a lightweight division move, and has noted his willingness to serve as a back-up for UFC 280 in October as Charles Oliveira and the aforenoted, Makhachev battle for vacant division spoils.

The Russian social media star rose to fame at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic for his hilarious call-outs of UFC stars Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Since then, the world has come down with Hasbulla fever including four-time NBA world champion Shaquille O’Neal. In a short video clip uploaded by @HasbullaHive on Twitter, the small-scale star lands a solid jab on the 7’1″ tall NBA icon in playful collaboration.

Who Exactly is Hasbulla Magomedov?

If you use any type of social media, chances are you have come across a video clip of Hasbulla at some point. Born in Makhachkala, Dagestan in 2003. The internet was diagnosed with Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD) or ‘Dwarfism’. It’s a rare genetic condition that affects roughly 2.3% of the world’s population. Other famous individuals who have been diagnosed with dwarfism include actors Peter Dinklage and Warwick Davis.

One of his more popular acts is his portrayal of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Adopting the moniker of ‘Mini Khabib,’ he famously mimicked the Russian star’s iconic UFC 229 weigh-in. Since then, Hasbulla has appeared at UFC events, taking pictures with the UFC Hall of Famer and other MMA stars.

After meeting UFC President Dana White at UFC 261 in Abu Dhabi, many were convinced that a fight between the pint-sized star and his social media rival Abu Rozik would be featured inside the Octagon. Especially after their near brawl that took place at UFC 267. While White has joked about making the fight happen under the bright lights of the UFC, neither party has seriously considered making it a reality.

A United Kingdom newspaper had a photo of Hasbulla in their section of local kids enjoying the snow.

The local paper asked the citizens to send pictures of kids enjoying the snow, and one person sent in a photo of Hasbulla. The newspaper obviously did not know who it was and published it with the caption, “Hasbullah, seven, had never experienced snow before last week.”

The user who sent in the photo of Hasbulla tweeted the screenshot of his e-mail to the newspaper where he wrote, “Wee Hasbullah aged 7 on the Gleniffer Braes with Paisley/Glasgow in the background. This is the first time he has actually seen snow!”

Hasbulla became famous in 2021 as his faceoff with Abdu Rozik went viral. Ever since then, the world became enamored with him, and he even got the attention of the UFC. Dana White had a meeting with Hasbulla while he was in attendance at UFC 267, and he was inside the Octagon with Khabib Nurmagomedov after Islam Makhachev submitted Dan Hooker.

White also knows how big of a star Hasbulla is, as he says a video he posted about him is the most-watched on his Instagram.

“You know I posted that video of him saying, ‘Dana I’m coming to UFC Abu Dhabi,’ and then I said, ‘I’m on the plane can’t wait to meet you in Abu Dhabi?” On Instagram, I have 6.7 million followers, right? 6.4 million people watched that video on Instagram. It’s the biggest thing that I’ve ever posted. It’s insane,” White said to Barstool.

White also says there is a chance Hasbulla fights inside the Octagon against Rozik, which would be one of the most anticipated fights ever.

“I love the kid. Is there more than a zero percent chance [that he fights in the UFC]? Yes!”

What do you make of the newspaper being trolled to post a photo of Hasbulla?
