The UFC continues to stack the card for UFC 211 PPV (pay-per-view) event. The promotion recently announced that former championship contender Henry Cejudo would face Sergio Pettis in a flyweight bout at the event. No word yet on if this bout will be featured on the main or preliminary card.

This is a big fight for not only the fighters but for the fans as this fight is a matter of staying in the title picture as well as a fight that could send the winner up the ladder in the rankings.

Cejudo (10-2) is coming off back-to-back losses after opening his professional career with 10 straight wins. He lost to champion Demetrious Johnson by first-round TKO last April at UFC 197 and then a split-decision loss to Joseph Benavidez.

Pettis (15-2,) is on a three fight winning streak and is coming off a win over John Moraga by unanimous decision in January at UFC Fight Night 103.

With every decision comes a consequence and for those fighters who took part in battle this past at TUF 24 Finale, it’s their time to faces those consequences in the form of medical suspensions.

The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions Finale (also known as The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale) took place on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Some of the more notable suspensions include Henry Cejudo and Jake Ellenberger being suspended for potentially six months. Here are the entire medical suspensions:

Henry Cejudo: Must have left hand x-rayed, if positive then must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/02/17; minimum suspension of no contest until 12/25, no contact until 12/18

Jake Ellenberger: Must have left foot x-rayed or have an MRI, if positive then must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/02/17; minimum suspension of no contest until 01/03/17, no contact until 12/25

Ryan Benoit: Must have nose x-rayed, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/02/17; minimum suspension of no contest until 01/03/17, no contact until 12/25

Devin Clark: Must have right thumb x-rayed, if positive then must be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/02/17

Jamie Moyle: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17 due to laceration above left eye

Elvis Mutapcic: Suspended until 01/18/17, no contact until 01/03/17 due to left frontal scalp laceration

Tim Elliott: Suspended until 01/03/17, no contact until 12/25

With another Las Vegas UFC card out of the way, that means that the fighter pay was released quickly, and MMAFighting snapped it up. Here’s how everyone on the card stacked up income-wise (all winners’ pay is split 50/50 between show money and win bonus unless otherwise noted):

Prelims on UFC Fight Pass
Devin Clark: ($20,000) defeated Josh Stansbury ($12,000)
Anthony Smith ($30,000) defeated Elvis Mutapcic ($16,000)

Prelims on FOX Sports 1
Jamie Moyle ($10,000 + $10,000 = $20,000) defeated Kailin Curran ($20,000)
“Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim ($20,000) defeated Brendan O’Reilly ($12,000)
Rob Font ($33,000) defeated Matt Schnell ($10,000)
Ryan Hall ($34,000) defeated Gray Maynard ($51,000)

Main Card on Fox Sports 1
Brandon Moreno ($24,000) defeatedRyan Benoit ($15,000)
Sara McMann ($56,000) defeated Alexis Davis ($27,000)
Jared Cannonier ($24,000) defeated Ion Cutelaba ($12,000)
Jorge Masvidal ($120,000) defeated Jake Ellenberger ($78,000)
Joseph Benavidez ($140,000) defeated Henry Cejudo ($50,000)
Demetrious Johnson ($350,000 with no win bonus) defeated Tim Elliott ($100,000)

It looks like there are some changes in the UFC’s payout strategies. In the past, TUF winners generally went up very slowly from the UFC minimum at the time (which currently appears to be $10,000) with escalators in maybe the $2,000 to show range per fight. Ryan Hall, in his first fight since winning TUF 22 a year ago at a $10,000/$10,000 purse, saw his show and win money nearly double to $17,000 on each side. Meanwhile, Tim Elliott, presumably due to the nature of TUF 24, got a big jump to $100,000 to show. That’s four times as much as Carla Esparez and Rose Namajunas were contracted to earn in the strawweight tournament finals of TUF 20, which took place two years ago.

The two went toe-to-toe for three rounds in an extremely close fight, but it was ultimately Benavidez who walked away with the decision, although some felt as if “The Messenger” should’ve been awarded the contest.

Two low blows cost Cejudo a point in the first round, which two judges scored 9-9, but one judge surprisingly gave Benavidez a 10-8 round in the first frame.

This season’s Ultimate Fighter Season 24 (TUF 24) coaches, No.1 and 2-ranked flyweights Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo, would meet in the co-main event of yesterday’s (Saturday December 3, 2016) TUF 24 Season Finale to possibly determine the next challenger for the 125-pound strap.

The first round saw Cejudo rock Banavidez early with a right hand, but the two-time flyweight title challenger was able to recover from the blow. Despite having a point taken away after two low blows, Cejudo was able to win the round with an impressive stand-up output.

The second round saw more of Cejudo displaying his impressive development in the stand-up department, landing nice body kicks, counter right hands, and left hooks. The third round was the most competitive of the contest, as both men landed big and powerful shots on one another.

In the end, however, the judges would deliver a split decision ruling of 27-29, 30-26, and 29-27 in favor of Benavidez.
