Chalk up a rare submission win for Muay Thai ace, Germaine ‘The Iron Lady’ de Randamie. With the contest likely all to play for in the third and final frame, the former UFC featherweight champion locked up a high-elbow guillotine on the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Julianna ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ Peña – choking the latter unconscious.

Dominating the opening round with strikes, as well as maintaining her distance with lateral movement, the Utrecht native briefly threatened with a Von Flue choke in the second round, as Peña held onto a guillotine of her own with de Randamie in side-control.

The veteran Netherlands striker displayed her grappling chaps as Peña looked to score a takedown in the third – jumping for a guillotine at the fence, scoring a technical submission win with referee Jason Herzog forced to separate the two.

Below, check out the highlights of #1 ranked bantamweight contender, de Randamie’s unlikely submission success over Peña.

Condit

Former interim UFC welterweight champion, ‘The Natural Born Killer’ Carlos Condit is back to winning ways for the first time since May of 2015.

The veteran 36-year-old looked at his once gleaming best again tonight opposite The Ultimate Fighter victor, fellow veteran, Court McGee – on his way to a unanimous decision (30-27 x3) victory. Utilising both orthodox and southpaw on cue, Condit varied his strikes with kicks and punches, targeting the body and head with aplomb. Making his mark toward the close of the first round, the Albuquerque native scored what seems to be a nasty break of McGee’s nose with a counter right hook, resulting in the fight’s sole knockdown.

Continuning his trend of creative striking beyond the opening frame, Condit turned up the heat and volume in the final round to bring a halt to a dissapointing five-fight slide for the stunning eighteen year veteran.

Below, catch highlights from Condit’s return to the win column against McGee.

Tonight’s (Sat., October 13, 2018) Bellator 208 from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York closed out the Viacom-owned promotion’s back-to-back East Coast weekend. So far, it has not disappointed fans and Cheick Kongo continued that trend.

The Heavyweight Grand Prix is the central focus of this weekend, but there were a couple of other big men fighting on the main card that wanted to make a statement.

Kongo entered Bellator 208 on fire. Having won six straight fights, Kongo possibly could set himself up for a title shot if he can get past his opponent. Tim Johnson is the man tasked with ending Kongo’s impressive win streak. Johnson made his Bellator debut tonight after having a winning record in the UFC.

The French striker seized his opportunity early in the fight. Kongo absolutely smashed Johnson with a flurry of right hands on the ground prompting the referee to end the fight. It was an odd finish where it looked like Johnson gave up rather quickly.
