UFC 126: Who could forget this great night of MMA?

At UFC 126, Anderson Silva was set to defend his middleweight title against Vitor Belfort. Belfort was seen as a man who could give Silva a run for his money and end his impressive win streak and give Silva his first loss inside the Octagon.

Towards the middle of the first round we go. Both Silva and Belfort standing, waiting for the other to make a move. Silva keeping his hands nice and low, like in all of his fights.

Then, in the blink of an eye, Silva drops Belfort with a front kick to the jaw. Shock and awe filled the stadium as Silva’s impressive front kick settled in everyone’s head.

Silva’s front kick was supposedly taught to him by none other then movie star, Steven Seagal.

Silva now is set to defend his title at UFC 134 in Rio for the UFC’s first trip to Brazil since the 90s.

Belfort on the other hand is set to fight Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 133 in Philadelphia.

Mirko Cro Cop is known for his famous leg kicks. His saying was “right leg hospital, left leg cemetery,” and here is where he first began the legend of his leg kicks.

At Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2001, Cro Cop faced off against Yuji Nagata, a famous wrestler from the country of Japan.

Just a few seconds in, Cro Cop went for the kill and used his legendary kickboxing skills to knock down Nagata and stun him. Cro Cop quickly went for the TKO and got it just 20 seconds into the fight. It was a young Cro Cop’s third bout and his second win.

This bout began Cro Cop’s career, and after this, he has gone on to become a fan favorite and top fighter. Even now, at the age of 36, Cro Cop can still hang with fighters.

Cro Cop is currently 27-9-2 with one no contest and is considered retired, but talks of him fighting yet again have resurfaced, and it has become a very good possibility. Cro Cop was last seen at UFC 128, where he suffered a third-round knockout loss to Brendan Schaub.

Nagata’s career story is different. Nagata has only had two fights in his entire MMA career. One was this fight with Cro Cop, the other was to Fedor Emelianenko. That might be the best 0-2 record of all-time. Neither fight, though, lasted more than one minute and two seconds.

Afterwards, Nagata went back to Japan Pro Wrestling and hasn’t fought since his 2003 knockout loss to Emelianenko.

At EliteXC: Destiny, K.J. Noons was set to face-off against Charles Bennett.

Not many gave Bennett a chance, and the trash talking before hand brought out the anger in Noons. Both fighters were taking it to each other, a pretty normal first round.

But towards the end of the round, Bennett hit Noons and gave his head a little ringing. Noons quickly disengages and circles away. Bennett wanted the fight bad enough though and landed a sweet right handed punch to the dome of Noons as he was going down to his knee and knocked Noons out cold.

Bennett, after his win, goes around doing back flips off of every conceivable corner in the cage. Bennett then went out and circled the cage in front of the roaring crowd.

After that fight it was a good start for Bennett. Bennett won his next two fights, but then the trouble happened. After that two-fight win streak Bennett went 3-8, leaving him with a grand total of 5-8 after the Noons knockout.

Bennett’s last fight was on April 16 of this year, a loss to Jason Gybels by rear-naked choke.

Noons had a slightly different career afterwards. This knockout was Noons’ first loss in his MMA career and he sunk to 3-1. After that fight though, Noons went on to win the EliteXC lightweight title over none other then Nick Diaz. This was the only loss for Diaz after he left the UFC for the second time.

Noons went 6-1 after the knockout and has not fought since losing by unanimous decision to Nick Diaz for the Strikeforce welterweight championship.
