Ahead of his UFC 282 co-main event clash with Jared Gordon this weekend, lightweight contender, Paddy Pimblett continues to add fuel to his rivalry with featherweight standout, Ilia Topuria – labelling the German-born contender a “mongrel” as well as criticizing his lack of English during their pre-fight press conference.

Pimblett, who so far has enjoyed a promotional-perfect stint with the UFC since his September debut inside the Octagon, most recently submitted Jordan Leavitt back in July at UFC London – landing a second round rear-naked choke success.

Earlier this year at UFC London in March, Topuria managed to stop Jai Herbert at the lightweight limit, securing a brutal second round one-punch knockout win on foreign soil.

However, prior to their respective victories at the March event, Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria shared a physical altercation during fight week at the London event, with the duo separated by security and UFC officials after a brief back-and-forth scuffle.

Sharing several war-of-words since across social media, Pimblett and Topuria both continued their rivalry at tonight’s pre-fight press conference ahead of UFC 282 – with Pimblett bringing up the latter’s country of birth, Germany, as well as labeling him a “mongrel” and critcizing his lack of English in spoken language.

Welcoming the opportunity to take part in another physical scuffle ahead of their separate Octagon walks this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada – Pimblett and Topuria were corralled once again by UFC officials and security.

Landing a pair of victories under the banner of the promotion before his July win over Leavitt, Liverpool native, Paddy Pimblett stopped the duo of Kazula Vargas, and Luigi Vendramini.

Boasting an impressive 12-0 undefeated record, Topuria has bested Youssef Zalal, Damon Jackson, Ryan Hall, and the aforenoted, Wolverhampton native, Herbert during his impressive Octagon tenure to date.

Ahead of their respective Octagon walks at UFC 282 next weekend, lightweight contender, Paddy Pimblett has claimed he will “snap” the chin of undefeated featherweight challenger, Ilia Topuria – if the German-born contender elects to confront him with his entourage again.

Pimblett, who makes his fourth Octagon appearance next weekend at UFC 282, co-headlines the T-Mobile Arena card against Jared Gordon, in search of his fourth consecutive victory since his debut in the Octagon back in September of last year.

As for Topuria, the surging finisher returns to the featherweight limit against his fellow unbeaten, Bryce Mitchell, returning to the weight class following a brief excursion at lightweight against Jai Herbert back in March, which resulted in a brutal second round KO win for Topuria.

However, ahead of their respective Octagon walks in London on that occasion as well, Pimblett and Topuria engaged in a physical altercation at the fighter hotel during fight week, with members of both teams separating the duo as security corralled Topuria.

Paddy Pimblett sends stark message to rival, Ilia Topuria

Commenting on the possibility of a redux altercation with Topuria next weekend in ‘Sin City’ – Paddy Pimblett revealed how he has organized to shack up outside of the fighter hotel at a different lodging, however, plans to “snap” the jaw of the featherweight should they meet.

“I’ve got myself a house,” Paddy Pimblett told BT Sport. “I don’t need to stay in a hotel with those mushrooms, that hand sanitizer boy [Ilia Topuria] and that – if I see him, lad, I’ll end up snapping his chin. So I’ll just stay away, lad, won’t get (in trouble) with NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission).”

Claiming Pimblett had to be removed from the UFC Performance Institute via a back entrance upon his arrival at the Las Vegas facility, Topuria insisted he was no bully.

“When I arrived at the PI this morning, I had to wait until they got Paddy (Pimblett) out the backdoor,” Ilia Topuria said. “I am no bully, you don’t have to avoid me. You already apologized. I still don’t like you. As long as you behave yourself when you see me, I won’t give a f*ck about you.” (Transcribed by Mirror)

Mitchell, who boasts an undefeated 15-0 professional record, last competed earlier this year at UFC 272 back in March, scoring an impressive and one-sided unanimous decision win over Muay Thai striking veteran, Edson Barboza.

For Topuria, the German-born featherweight contender has been sidelined since March to boot, making a brief lightweight excursion against Jai Herbert at UFC London, turning in a spectacular second round one-punch knockout win.

Expected to headline an event earlier this month against fellow undefeated featherweight grappler, Movsar Evloev, Bryce Mitchell saw the bout shelved after the former suffered an undisclosed injury back in October, scrapping the bout.

Bryce Mitchell previews his upcoming Octagon comeback

Releasing a new rap song to promote his end-of-year UFC 282 clash with Topuria – as well as explaining how he’s “frugal” with his earnings, given the fact he does not earn a lot.

“I hop on the saddle, I ride into battle, I took lots of hits so you know I’m not fragile,” Byrce Mitchell raps in a short snippet on his official Twitter account. “Fightin’ real brutally, make it look beautifully, really ain’t new to me, do this sh*t usually. I don’t get paid much so I spend it real frugally, praise be to God there ain’t sh*t you can’t do to me.”

In the midst of six-fightht winning run since his Octagon tenure began back in July 2018, Bryce Mitchell has landed other notable wins over the likes of Charles Rosa, and Andre Fili – as well as landing a rare twister submission win over Matt Sayles.

Undefeated featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell looks set to face fellow undefeated fighter, Ilia Topuria at UFC Fight Night: 214. Mitchell’s original opponent, Movsar Evloev, was forced to withdraw from the bout due to sustaining an injury.

Bryce Mitchell was scheduled to take on Evloev at UFC Fight 214 on November 5th in the main-event slot but after information was released regarding the Russian’s injury speculation has circulated whether Mitchell would remain on the card.

Thankfully for Mitchell now it seems an opponent has been found. Topuria took to social media to declare his interest in the matchup and as of now with the American accepting the call we await to see if UFC matchmakers will confirm this fight to go ahead on the originally scheduled date.

‘Thug Nasty’ had been slowly building up an impressive resume since joining the UFC, holding victories over the likes of Charles Rosa and Andre Fili before providing his most impressive performance to date when he was able to neutralize the ever-dangerous Edson Barboza back at UFC 272.

His new opponent, Topuria, had also been doing the same since his arrival at the promotion. Topuria landed a successful debut after he beat Youssef Zalal in 2020. Since then, the Georgian has gone on to finish his next three opponents holding stoppage victories over Damon Jackson, Ryan Hall, and most recently Jai Herbert at UFC London.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting confirmation from the UFC of this matchup with both men touted as being part of the future of the featherweight division.

Bryce Mitchell accepts the call from Ilia Topuria

Answering the call from Topuria, Bryce Mitchell took to his social media to welcome the opportunity to fight and is looking forward to getting back at ‘El Matador’ after claiming he has been mentioning his name far too much.

‘I see I’m getting called out by Ilia Topuria to fight he wants to go on Twitter and post a picture of his abs, his little perfect eight-pack, or whatever. Hey buddy, you see this, you see that buddy (slapping his stomach). I’ve been eating peanut butter cookies for like three weeks now and I’ll still get off my couch and whoop your a** buddy, I don’t give a damn about them abs. Let’s go buddy I’m tired of you putting my name in your mouth… shouldn’t have done it.’

Despite losing out on what would have been a fascinating matchup with his original opponent, fans of the sport will not be displeased should this new matchup get confirmed.

Who do you believe would win in a matchup between Bryce Mitchell and Ilia Topuria?
