Darren Till has praised UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya after his dominant win against Paulo Costa at UFC 253 on Fight Island.

Till also set out his own path for a title shot against the last style bender in the same tweet he praised the champion in.

The number 6 middleweight contender, Till believes if he puts on a dominant performance in his next fight against the number 4 ranked middleweight, Jack Hermansson then he will have done enough to earn a fight against Adesanya.

Speaking to his 240,000 followers, Till said: ‘What a fight by the champ, he’s some striker. I have got to come back, beat Jack. Beat maybe one more, or if I beat jack badly… jump straight in & fight the champ!’ Till also believes he can beat Adesanya, explaining that if he works hard he can outstrike Adesanya by being quicker than him: ‘I do believe I can outstrike him if I’m faster… I have to work extremely hard now though. More than ever before!’

Till also continued his praise of Adesanya in a successive tweet in which he posted a picture of the champion with the caption ‘Champ!!!!.’

Till and Adesanya have been known to have a joke between the two of them. Both of the fighters have uploaded videos which they have DM’d to each other on Instagram. Recently Adesanya sent a video to Till asking if he was ‘going to show up to his next fight or will he have visa issues.’ referring to the Brit’s late trouble with getting into America before his fight with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244.

Darren Till last fought against Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Island on the 25th July where he lost on a unanimous decision to the former Middleweight king. Till is next expected to fight against Jack Hermansson on December the 5th.

Will Darren Till ever get a Middleweight title shot and would he beat Israel Adesanya?

Darren Till vs. Jack Hermansson In The Works For December 5

Darren Till

Middleweight contenders Darren Till and Jack Hermansson will square off in the main event match-up on December 5 according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN who broke the news on social media earlier tonight, he wrote.

“Breaking: Darren Till (@darrentill2) vs. Jack  Hermansson (@jackthejokermma) will headline UFC Fight Night on Dec. 5, pending medical clearance on Till’s left knee (which is looking good). MW matchups are fire right now. Adesanya/Costa. Whittaker/Cannonier. Hermansson/Till.”

As stated above Till is currently healing up after suffering a knee injury during his most recent fight – a unanimous decision loss to former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.

Prior to that, the Englishman enjoyed a successful middleweight debut beating one-time title challenger Kelvin Gastelum by split decision, snapping his own two-fight losing skid which saw his previously impressive welterweight run come to an end.

Despite recent losses Till remains confident he will become UFC champion sooner rather than later.

“When people give excuses over little things in life and the weight cuts and whatever it just doesn’t cohere with me. You either win a fight or you lose a fight,” Till said. “There is no if, buts, what’s. Yeah, if my knee was a little bit better maybe things would’ve been a bit different but it was a three-two fight for him or three-two fight for me, so I haven’t left that fight thinking anything. He was the former champ. A few more fights mate and I am going to be the champion.”

Hermansson got back to winning ways last time out with a quick submission victory over Gastelum. Before that, he was knocked out by Jared Cannonier at UFC Copenhagen who will now face Whittaker in what appears to be a number one contender fight. The former Cage Warriors champion holds several high profile wins over the likes over Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, David Branch and Thales Leites.

Who will win on December 5? Darren Till or Jack Hermansson?

Luke Rockhold Reveals Fighters He Has Eye On Other Than Chris Weidman

Luke Rockhold is not only targeting Chris Weidman.

The former UFC middleweight champion recently expressed his intentions to return to the sport and hinted at a rematch with Weidman.

However, there are other names in the middleweight division that Rockhold has his eye on as well.

“There’s Darren Till, there’s the grappler the Norwegian kid, he looks good, [Jack] Hermansson looks tough,” Rockhold told Submission Radio. “I want somebody who means something and is a name, something meant to be. I left the division the number two-ranked middleweight in the world. So, they can say what they want because I’m unranked at the moment, but I can come back and reassert myself very quickly if I need to.”

“Anderson [Silva] would be fun, but I don’t think he wants anything of this sort. He called me out when he was in the UFC, and I called him out and he ran away, and then, you know, even at this point I don’t think he still wants it. I’ve put that fight in the hands of their team and they’ve seemingly worked their way around it as best they can over the years – many, many years of it.”

Rockhold vs. Whittaker?

Another name that interests Rockhold is another former champion in Whittaker. The pair were originally set to face each other at UFC 221 for the 185-pound strap back in February 2018 until an injury forced Whittaker to withdraw.

“The Reaper” recently returned to the win column last month after outpointing Till, but for Rockhold, the Aussie doesn’t look the same as he did during his run to the middleweight title.

“I don’t think Rob looked like he was back in the day,” he added. “I think Darren Till looked okay. I think he looked like decent. Rob doesn’t look like he’s got the fire he’s once had. I mean, you gotta find the fire if he’s going to come back and compete at that level.

“I’m not opposed to it [fighting Rob]. I’m gonna let him go do his thing and then see how he fares. [Jared] Cannonier’s got some, that dude’s got some fire in his blood. And so, if Robert doesn’t find that f*cken fire, he’s gonna fall short. So, I’m just looking at the division as a whole. And you gotta be ready, you gotta be fired up, you gotta be motivated.”

Rockhold last competed in July last year when he was knocked out by Jan Blachowicz in his light heavyweight debut. In total, he has lost three of his last four outings.

Derek Brunson

Derek Brunson is eyeing fights with some of the big names at middleweight after taking out rising star Edmen Shahbazyan in the main event at UFC Vegas 5 this past weekend.

Brunson entered the Octagon a huge underdog against the surging contender who many expected would continue his rise to the top of the 185lb division. The 36-year-old used his superior wrestling and nasty ground and pound to dominate his opponent over two rounds. Shahbazyan looked done but was allowed to fight on in round three only to be quickly stopped once the final stanza began.

It appears Brunson has already lined up his next two potential victims. The American says he wants to face either Jack Hermansson or Darren Till next.

“Hermanson or Til next sounds good to me. Both ranked ahead of me & no fight scheduled! @UFC @AliAbdelaziz00 @danawhite @Mickmaynard2,” Brunson wrote on social media.

Hermansson is riding high after one of the biggest wins of career. The European standout quickly tapped Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Island 2 to establish himself as one of the best in the division after previously suffering defeat to fellow contender Jared Cannonier.

Till on the other hand is coming off a defeat to former middleweight king Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Island 3. The Englishman was impressive during his close decision loss to Whittaker but is unlikely to fight any time soon after suffering a nasty knee injury during the fight.

Who do you think Derek Brunson should face next?
