Elle Brooke Offers Bold Predication in Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Elle Brooke believes Jake Paul is in a lose-lose situation.

After making a name for himself by boxing a slew of past-their-prime MMA stars, ‘The Problem Child’ will return to the ring for a clash with one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The bout is scheduled to emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday, November 15, and is slated to be one of the most-watched combat sports events of all time.

Much of the commentary surrounding their scrap has been about the massive 31-year age gap between the two combatants and how that will play into the outcome. Some, like Joe Rogan and Francis Ngannou, believe Tyson’s legendary power could still win the day while others think that Paul’s youth will be more than enough to close the experience gap and get the job done.

Brooke, the reigning Misfits Boxing middleweight champion, subscribes to the latter, believing that Paul’s speed will be the difference-maker in The Lone Star State.

“By being the younger, fitter person that’s how he gets it done,” Brooke told Daily Star. Poor, poor Mike Tyson has already had to pull out once. I just think Jake is younger, fitter and stronger, especially in the heavyweight division.

“It’s not necessarily about skill but when you have speed because of youth, I think that will come into play. Do I think he’s going to knock him out? Realistically, I’m not sure. I hope he does to make a statement because a lot of people are going to be doubting him. But then he’s going to get a lot of stick… ‘You knocked out a 60-year-old, what does that prove?’. So Jake cannot win.”

Before Paul and Tyson go toe-to-toe, Elle Brook will return to the influencer boxing scene set to defend her gold against bare-knuckle brawler Jenny Savage. Their clash will headline the Misfits & DAZN X Series 18 card on September 14 at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle, England.

Brooke is coming off a split draw against former UFC star Paige VanZant in May. Before that, she plowed her way through Andrea-Jane Bunker, earning a third-round TKO to claim the Misfits middleweight crown. Thus far, the Portsmouth native is 4-1-1 in her boxing career.

Savage has spent the last four years competing under the BKFC banner, going 3-3 with wins over Sheena Brandenburg, Delaney Bailey, and Nekah Dmitriyeva.

Freddie Roach says Jake Paul is just 'Okay' Ahead of Mike Tyson Fight: "You know, a club fighter"

Jake Paul will have youth on his side when he steps inside the ring with legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson this November. According to iconic boxing trainer Freddie Roach, that’s about all he’ll have working in his favor.

When Paul goes toe-to-toe with the former unified heavyweight world champion in Arlington, Texas, there will be a 31-year age gap between the two generational stars. That factoid has sparked a lot of debate over whether or not the fight should be happening with many believing that Tyson is taking an unnecessary risk against the 28-year-old ‘Problem Child’ from Cleveland.

Roach, who trained Tyson during the twilight of his professional boxing career, recently recalled what it was like taking punches from the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ during an interview with DAZN.

“Mike’s a great guy and I did train him for a couple of fights before the end of his career, but his heart wasn’t really in it at that time. If he didn’t knock you out in a couple of rounds he’d get a torn meniscus in his knee or an injury somewhere here or there.

“But the thing is Mike is a great puncher, he trains very hard. Being with Mike for two fights it was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it. Catching him on the mitts was very difficult and a lot of fun. Getting whacked by Mike Tyson with the right hook isn’t my favorite spot but I lived through it!” (h/t Seconds Out)

Roach has been unimpressed with what he’s seen out of Jake Paul

Roach has also seen Jake Paul putting in work at the gym and offered his honest opinion of the YouTube star’s skills.

“The kid’s okay,” Roach told FightHype. “You know, a club fighter, I don’t know. I’ve never really met him. He was in my gym and they wanted to work, use the ring. Okay, go ahead.”

Paul is 10-1 in his professional boxing career thus far, though very few of those bouts have come against legitimate boxers. The Problem Child’ has primarily made a name for himself competing against past-their-prime MMA stars like Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz.

The few fights he has won against actual boxers came against a pair of no-name talents who had not been active in the sport for years. Meanwhile, his lone loss came against Tommy Fury, a fighter who is more of a reality TV star than a fighter these days. Paul lost the February 2023 bout via split decision.

Francis Ngannou Gives Jake Paul Stark Warning About Mike Tyson: "Mike is something else."

Francis Ngannou is confident Mike Tyson will get the job done when he returns to the ring for a scrap with Jake Paul this fall.

On Friday, November 15, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet‘ heads to the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for his first professional fight in nearly 20 years. Much has been said about the 58-year-old’s highly anticipated comeback, much of it surrounding the massive age gap between the two combatants.

Still, there are plenty who believe Tyson’s legendary power will be ever-present against ‘The Problem Child’ in The Lone Star State.

Speaking with the YouTube star on his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, Ngannou offered his frank prediction for how things will play out when Paul tests himself against the former unified heavyweight world champion.

“Yeah I do [think Tyson will beat you],” Ngannou told Paul. “Listen, I have seen how Tyson moves around just like to show me stuff… he still got it. Either way, I think Mike Tyson will beat you. We’re talking about Mike, bro. Mike is something else. He’s a specimen… Mike will move from this side to this side without you knowing” (h/t Middle Easy).

Asked what Paul should look out for when he meets ‘Iron’ inside the squared circle, Ngannou had just one word.

“Everything,” Ngannou told Paul with a smile. “Watch out for everything.”

Jake Paul goes for win No. 11 against Mike Tyson

Jake Paul goes into his 12th career fight with a solid 10-1 record with seven of his victories coming via KO. In February 2023, he suffered his first loss, coming up on the wrong side of the scorecards in a split decision against Tommy Fury.

Since then, he’s won four straight, including wins over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz and BKFC star ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

As for Tyson, his last pro fight came on June 11, 2005, in a losing effort against Kevin McBride. In 2020, Tyson competed in a charity boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. that went to an eight-round draw.

Hulk Hogan on Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Mike Tyson is a veteran boxer and all-time heavyweight great. He has been inactive for the past 20 years in boxing aside from an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr just a few years ago. Despite being a powerhouse in his youth, he is now nearly 60 years old.

Jake Paul is a YouTuber turned-boxer who has made a name for himself by defeating former UFC fighters in the ring including Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and others. His boxing fights always draw blockbuster numbers. He is set to fight the boxing legend Tyson on November 15 on Netflix.

Hulk Hogan, speaking to Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, explained his concerns about Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul. He said:

“Your brother’s too strong, bro. He’s strong. Last night, as soon as I saw him set the guy up with the left, he kept throwing the overhand right, I was like, ‘Oh my God, he’s going to kill somebody.’ No, I mean really. It was scary. I love Mike to death; I don’t want him to kill Mike, Jesus” [Ht Middleeasy]

A sparring partner of Mike Tyson, interestingly enough, said the exact opposite. In the upcoming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight, he fears for Paul’s safety. He explained:

“For me, it’s going to be a glorified sparring session. When Mike boxed Roy Jones Jr he hit Roy with a body shot and sunk him – and Mike knew he could hurt Roy Jones. Anybody that Mike hits is going to hurt, probably knockout as well but he carried Roy Jones.

Jake Paul Believes UFC Holding Conor McGregor Back to Strengthen Rights Deal

Jake Paul thinks the UFC is intentionally keeping Conor McGregor out of the Octagon to use him as a bargaining chip.

It’s been more than three years since we last saw the Irish megastar compete. Since then, there’s been a new rumor every other week regarding when he would make his long-awaited return to MMA’s biggest stage. After lobbying hard for a fight in late 2023 and early 2024, McGregor finally got his wish, booking a main event matchup with former Bellator champion Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29.

Unfortunately, the fight never came to fruition after McGregor opted to withdraw due to, of all things, a broken pinky toe. McGregor has since pushed for a rescheduled date in December, but so far, the UFC has appeared uninterested.

Conor McGregor

During a recent episode of his BS podcast, Jake Paul offered some insight into why the UFC may be dragging its feet on locking down a fight for McGregor, suggesting that it has everything to do with the promotion’s soon-to-be expired broadcast deal with ESPN.

“Conor has two fights left on his fight deal, but the UFC is trying to renew their rights deal.” Jake Paul stated during the discussion. “They license their content, which are the fights, to platforms. So they’re trying to renew their deal, and they’re negotiating with multiple people. But, let’s say they’re going with ESPN. They’re trying to renew the deal and get the most amount of money, a part of that negotiation is, ‘Hey, we have Conor McGregor for two more fights.

“But, if he were to fight now, that wouldn’t be part of the negotiation. ‘Oh we only have Conor for one fight’. So, that’s why Conor isn’t fighting now, and this is what they do to the fighters… Each contract is different, but you don’t want to win, because you’re locked in for more three more fights. They also have all these [contract] triggers… You’re owned across the board” (h/t BJPenn.com).

Is the UFC trying to keep Conor mcGregor Locked down?

McGregor has been very open about his UFC contract, confirming in prior interviews that he only has two fights left, and it would appear that ‘Mystic Mac’ is eager to get them out of the way so he can pursue ventures outside of the Octagon i.e. boxing or a fight under the BKFC banner, a promotion he now partially owns.

Conor McGregor

With McGregor headlining eight of the 10 highest-grossing pay-per-views in UFC history, he is an undeniable asset for the promotion and could very well be used to squeeze a few more dollars out of whoever the UFC signs with once its current ESPN deal expires at the end of 2025.

Unfortunately for McGregor, that means the promotion could try to keep him under contract and stall out his last two fights for as long as possible. Of course, the organization could opt to do an open-ended deal with McGregor, allowing him to partake in other interests outside of the Octagon while retaining his services, but we all saw how it went when Francis Ngannou tried to do it.
