Ryan Garcia does not believe Conor McGregor is a good boxer and is of the opinion that the Irishman would struggle to beat Jake Paul in the ring.

The 22-year-old was not impressed by McGregor’s first and only boxing match which came in 2017 against Floyd Mayweather. ‘Notorious’ was able to win a few rounds against the boxing great before being outclassed and ultimately stopped inside ten rounds.

“People can say whatever they want. When I watched Conor fight Mayweather. Conor can’t box. He can’t box,” Garcia told SPORTS JOE. “If Conor was smart, he’d ask Jake Paul to go in the Octagon with him. If you’re the bigger star you should do that because Conor is not that good of a boxer in my opinion. I’m just keeping it real 100%. I understand that it was against Floyd Mayweather, but your punches didn’t even look good. You know what I mean? Like when you were throwing them, they didn’t have no torque on them. They didn’t have no snap on them. You didn’t have anything on them. Can you make improvements? Of course, anybody can. How much can you? I don’t know. I don’t know the type of work that you put in. I don’t know the type of dedication he’s putting into boxing. He steps into the ring again with anybody good, he’s not going to win. He’s just not.”

Paul is set for his third professional boxing match this weekend. The internet celebrity will take on former UFC fighter Ben Askren on an April 17 Triller pay-per-view.

Garcia thinks Paul would give McGregor a run for his money. The lightweight boxing contender would even be willing to bet $100,000 that Paul would go the distance with McGregor.

“I think him and Jake Paul, if the brings the same fight he brought to Floyd against Jake Paul, that’s more competitive. I promise you,” Garcia said. “I’ll put a hundred thousand dollars he won’t knock out Jake Paul. You can mark it down right now. I’ll put a hundred thousand he won’t be able to knock out Jake Paul. Will he beat him? Maybe. He won’t knock him out though.”

Some observers might be changing their predictions for the Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren fight.

The pair will compete in an eight-round boxing match taking place Saturday night at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

For most observers as well as oddsmakers, Paul is the favorite and will likely come out with the win. Part of that is because of Askren’s age and lack of striking he displayed throughout his combat sports career.

And while he is solely working on his boxing for a change, he hasn’t done much to impress many, especially with sparring footage he posted last month. That has certainly changed now.

With just days to go for the fight, Askren took part in a recent workout and displayed how his boxing skills were looking and they were impressive to say the least.

Jake Paul has categorically denied any wrongdoing after being accused of sexual assault by TikTok star Justine Paradis.

On Friday, Paradis posted a 20-minute video in which she accuses the YouTuber of forcing her into oral sex in July 2019.

The 24-year-old was hesitant to go public with her accusations as the alleged incident had taken place two years ago.

Paul has since released a statement denying the claims and claiming they are “manufactured” to exploit the attention that is currently on him ahead of his fight with Ben Askren on April 17.

“Sexual assault accusations aren’t something that I, or anyone should ever take lightly, but to be crystal clear, this claim made against me is 100% false,” Paul wrote in a statement released on social media.

“Not only have I never had any sexual relationship with this individual, but this claim is solely a manufactured accusation and a blatant attempt for attention during a highly visible fight week. Make no mistake, I plan on pursuing this defamation of character case to the fullest extent of the law. There are irreparable damages from these types of accusations, and more important, false allegation of this nature diminish those who have truly been victims of misconduct.

“Again, this individual is directly using the attention from her social media posts and video to promote her adult content website and Amazon shopping list – designed for people to buy her gifts. These allegations come conveniently for her, almost 2 years after the alleged incident and the week of my fight (of course).

“At the time of her story I was in a relationship, and as someone who was a momma’s boy growing up, I respect women and mothers more than anything. I most certainly have never laid a finger on a girl without their consent.”
