“I am determined to make my impact outside the ring bigger than anything I do within it,” Paul continued. “I believe the United States has the best boxers. Let’s put it to the test. Anyone who works hard enough to fight for their country in the most iconic contest has my support. Team USA let’s go!!! See y’all in Paris.”

Jake Paul scored a highlight-reel-worthy knockout against Andre August on Friday night.

Stepping into the squared circle for the ninth time in his professional boxing career, the ‘Problem Child’ looked to add a win over a “legitimate boxer” after making a name for himself competing against a series of past-their-prime MMA stars.

Paul began the bout looking light on his feet and leading with the left jab while August attempted to work the body. Taking notice of August’s tendency to duck under every time he moved into land a body blow, Paul teed up a booming right uppercut that caught August on the button and sent him crashing to the canvas with less than a minute to go in the opening round.

August climbed back to his feet but was unable to maintain his footing. The referee had no choice, but to call for the stoppage.

Jake Paul faces off with Andre August ahead of boxing fight return I dropped your coach in sparring

Jake Paul comes face-to-face with his newest opponent, Andre August, ahead of their boxing match this weekend.

Paul is set to make his ring return this Saturday at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando Florida. The pair squared off and I. classic Paul fashion, took the time to trash talk, claiming that he ‘dropped’ August Coach.

Why is Jake Paul fighting Andre August?

Paul has made a name for himself picking well-known names and matchups which are winnable for him. This will be the first time Paul will take on a ‘traditional’ boxer.

‘The Problem child’ claims he wants to shift his career to one of a classical boxing prospect. Steadily build up his record and in-ring experience while slowly raising the calibre of his opponent as he goes.

August currently boasts a 10-1 record but has only fought once since 2019, returning to a win in August over Brandon Martin.

“I’m a professional boxer and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life.” (H/T Independent)

So far, my entire boxing career has been on pay-per-view, but now it’s about more than business. Now I want to build my experience in the ring against seasoned fighters. I’m coming to prove my greatness on Friday 15 December, live on DAZN for the world to see.”

Via Twitter, Paul would go on to boast of his opponent’s knockout record and claim that it was the first step to becoming a world champion.

“August has more KO’s than me, more wins than me, more experience than me, but I like to gamble. The path to world champ starts here. Just straight-up boxing.”

Jake Paul Taunts Ex-UFC Star Nate Diaz While Trying on a pair of PFL Gloves: ‘I’d kill that man’

Jake Paul simply won’t stop until he gets Nate Diaz to sign on the dotted line for a fight inside the PFL Smart Cage.

In August, ‘The Problem Child’ scored a unanimous decision victory against Diaz in an entertaining 10-round scrap inside Dallas’ American Airlines Center. Immediately following the boxing contest, Paul laid down a $10 million offer to run it back in MMA. Diaz seemingly accepted the offer in the heat of the moment but has since backed away from the potential rematch.

Of course, that hasn’t stopped Jake Paul from attempting to goad Diaz into taking the fight every chance he gets. Recently, the social media star offered another word of warning to the ‘Stockton Samurai’ courtesy of the Professional Fighter League’s official account on X.

Nate Diaz is a smart man staying away from me in MMA, smart man,” Paul said in the clip. “Man, he can’t take me down. I have better wrestling than him. Ohio Division I state wrestling experience. He clearly can’t punch me, he punches so soft, pillow hands. If we fought in MMA it’d only be 15 minutes, which is half the amount of time we just fought. I’d up the punch count, up the pace, kill that man” (h/t MiddleEasy).

Jake Paul Returns to the Ring on December 15

For now, Jake Paul will put his focus on a return to the squared circle on December 15 when he meets 35-year-old cruiserweight Andre August. According to the recordkeeping site BoxRec, August has a 10-1 record with five wins coming by way of knockout. However, August has only competed once since 2019, and only two of his opponents entered their fight with a winning record.

“Ask and I shall deliver. August has more KO’s than me, more wins than me, more experience than me, but I like to gamble. The path to world champ starts here. Just straight up boxing,” Paul wrote on social media upon revealing his opponent.

As for Nate Diaz, the former UFC superstar has not made any announcements regarding his next move. Before competing against Jake Paul, he had expressed an interest in re-signing with the UFC, presumably to book a trilogy fight with the yet-to-return Conor McGregor. Perhaps those are still the plans, but only time will tell.

Jake Paul set to fight Andre August in professional boxing match in December

Polarizing professional boxer, Jake Paul is slated to make his return to the ring on December 15. – taking on fellow professional, Andre August in Orlando, Florida – over the course of eight rounds at the cruiserweight limit.

Paul, who boasts a 7-1 professional boxing record, most recently headlined a pay-per-view card in August of this year in Texas, landing a one-sided unanimous decision win over former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz, dropping the Stockton native en route to his victory.

As for August, the 10-1 puncher – who has been blasted and labelled as a “complete unknown” fighter for Paul at this stage of his naive career, most recently landed a unanimous decision win over Brandon Martin back in August of this year to boot.

Jake Paul books December fight with Andre August

Ariel Helwani was first to report the news of Jake Paul’s professional boxing return next month against Andre August.

“Jake Paul’s next fight will be against Andre August (10-1) on Dec. 15 in Orlando, Paul and his promotion MVP announced this am,” Helwani posted on his official X account. “Fight will be contested at cruiserweight. Eight rounds.”

Addressing his leftfield fight with relative unknown, August, Paul claimed that he wants to become a world champion in the sport, and hopes to “build” experience against “seasoned fighters”.

“I’m a professional boxer and i want to be world champion,” Jake Paul said in a press release. “So I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life. So far, my entire boxing career has been on pay-per-view, but now it’s about more than business. Now I want to build my experience in the ring against seasoned fighters. I’m coming to prove my greatness Friday, December 15th live on DAZN for the world to see.”

Himself speaking on the booking of a fight between Paul and August, the Ohio native’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian claimed that the bout will be “unforgettable” for viewing fans.

“Jake’s global star power has already made him one of the biggest names in boxing,” Bidarian said. “He’s sold more pay-per-views over his first eight fights than any other boxer ever and he’s one of the few names in the game advocating for women and prospects in the sport. And now he’s once again doing what very few of the best and biggester boxers in the world have done in their 9th professional fights – fighting someone with a better record and more experience.”

“Pound-for-pound, the great Terrence Crawford fought a 9-14 opponent in his 9th fight, Canelo Alvarez fought a 0-1 opponent, and Gervonta Davis fought an opponent that had 31 losses. But Terrence, Canelo and Gervonta didn’t have the world watching. Jake Paul does, and he’s once again putting it all on the line taking on a 10-1 opponent. Thank you to DAZN for working with us to make this event accessible to fans around the world.”
