Conor McGregor had nothing good to say about Nate Diaz’s 10-round boxing showdown with Jake Paul.

On August 5, ‘The Problem Child’ added a seventh career win to his record, defeating two-time Conor McGregor opponent Nate Diaz in an entertaining bout that saw both fighters shine at times. Many were quick to heap praise on Diaz for giving Paul a tough test, particularly in the later rounds, and keeping fans entertained with his mid-fight antics.

Even Dana White was complimentary of Diaz’s performance, a sentiment that Conor McGregor did not share. During an interview with Matchroom Boxing, the former two-division UFC champ slammed Diaz’s performance, making mention of the 10th-round guillotine choke that the ‘Stockton Samurai’ briefly slapped on his opponent.

“What guillotine,” McGregor asked during the interview. “Did he get it? Did he finish it? Why did he not finish it? What did he f*cking do? He wrapped around his head. If you got the gilly, finish it, mate. He done nothing.”

And if it weren’t already obvious, Conor McGregor was equally unimpressed with both ‘The Problem Child’ and his former Octagon foe.

“I wasn’t impressed with either of them,” McGregor added.

Despite Conor McGregor’s Disapproval, Paul vs. Diaz Has Proven to Be a Success

Whether or not Conor McGregor was impressed with the fight doesn’t change the fact that the high-profile crossover clash was a fairly successful event from a financial standpoint. According to Jake Paul’s Instagram, the bout doubled the number of buys that his fight with Tommy Fury did in February and more than quadrupled the U.S. pay-per-view revenue of that same fight. Early reports indicate that the bout sold an estimated 450,000 buys, putting the PPV revenue alone at around $27 million.

With his first foray into pro boxing now in the books, much of the combat sports community is waiting to find out what Nate Diaz will do next. Prior to the bout, all signs pointed toward the kid from 209 returning to the UFC for a long-awaited trilogy bout with Conor McGregor. But a $10 million offer to run it back with Jake Paul inside the PFL Smart Cage may be too big of an opportunity to pass up.

As for Conor McGregor, the Irishman remains adamant that he will return to the Octagon in October for a fight with opposing TUF coach ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler.

Jake Paul confident he can smash Nate Diaz in MMA with a year of training: ‘I’ve done the calculations’

Jake Paul believes that with enough time, he can hand Nate Diaz a defeat in the world of mixed martial arts.

‘The Problem Child’ scored his seventh career win earlier this month, landing a unanimous decision victory over Diaz after 10 entertaining rounds of action in the Lone Star State. Immediately following the bout, Jake Paul doubled down on his $10 million MMA challenge to Diaz, suggesting they run it back inside the PFL Smart Cage next year. Diaz seemingly accepted the offer during his own post-fight interview, but no official announcement has been made.

Of course, fans and fellow fighters were quick to pick Diaz in the potential rematch, and understandably so. The ‘Stockton Samurai’ has more than 15 years of experience in MMA while Jake Paul is yet to step foot inside a cage. But that hasn’t stopped ‘The Problem Child’ from suggesting that with enough prep time, he’ll add another win over the TUF alumnus to his resume.

“Not right now, but in a year maybe,” Paul said with a laugh on his brother Logan’s Impaulsive podcast. “Honestly, I will will it into existence and I will work so f*cking hard that I can do it. The best part about is that MMA matches obviously start standing up like a boxing match. He can’t hurt me with punches, if his punches aren’t strong how are his kicks going to be. Of course, you can get a guillotine on someone when they’re not expecting it in a f*cking boxing match, duh.

In the 10th round of their boxing class, Jake Paul attempted to clinch up, allowing Diaz to grab his neck and cinch in a guillotine choke before being broken up by the ref.

Jake Paul on How Things Will Play Out Against Nate Diaz in MMA

Diaz will undoubtedly go into a mixed martial arts matchup with ‘The Problem Child’ carrying a decided advantage, but it appears that Paul has already convinced himself that the very wide gap in MMA experience won’t matter.

“If I can prepare for it, the crazy thing about it, I’ve done the calculations in my head,” Paul said. “We start standing up. I learn kicks, I learn how to defend kicks. I’m beating his ass standing up clear as day in boxing. He tries to get close to me, I can just stick and move. He tries to take me down, my takedown defense and takedowns are better than his. I have way higher wrestling experience than his. He’s not going to be able to take me down. He’s slow, so I’m going to see the shots coming. Boom, block the shots.

“He can’t take me down to submit me. It becomes a standing match. Three five-minute rounds, easy. I just fought for 30 minutes, that’s only 15 minutes. I can work twice as hard in half the amount of time, expend twice as much energy to keep him away from me, while punching, not letting him take me down, and I will just simply have to watch out for his guillotine” (h/t MMA Fighting).

It’s possible that Jake Paul could ultimately opt to take another boxing match before making his proposed MMA debut. ‘The Problem Child’ has long been tied to a rumored bout with fellow social media star KSI. Currently, KSI is scheduled to headline a Misfits boxing event in October, taking on the only man to hand Paul a loss inside the squared circle, Tommy Fury.

But no matter which route he chooses to travel from this point, Paul is optimistic that his inevitable MMA debut will be a successful one. If given enough time to prepare, that is.

“Seriously, with eight to nine months of training, I know I can beat Nate Diaz in MMA,” Paul said.

Daniel Cormier casts doubt on Jake Paul’s MMA potential following Diaz fight: ‘Nate will submit him’

Jake Paul

While Jake Paul may have been good enough to secure his seventh career win against Nate Diaz in the boxing ring, it wasn’t enough to convince Daniel Cormier that ‘The Problem Child’ can hold his own in mixed martial arts.

Paul landed a unanimous decision win following an entertaining 10-round scrap with the ‘Stockton Samurai’ in Dallas on August 5. Back in the win column after a February loss to Tommy Furry, Paul is expected to turn his attention toward making a mixed martial arts debut under the PFL banner in early 2024. No official details have been announced, but ‘The Problem Child’ has made it abundantly clear that he wants to make his MMA debut against Nate Diaz inside the PFL Smart Cage. Paul even doubled down on his $10 million dollar offer to the TUF alumnus immediately following their boxing bout in the Lone Star State.

While ‘The Problem Child’ has looked undeniably impressive inside the squared circle at times, Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe Jake Paul has a chance in hell of surviving against Nate Diaz in a cage. And his performance inside the American Airlines Center did nothing to convince ‘DC’ otherwise.

“Nate will submit him,” Cormier said on this YouTube channel. “If they fight, Nate will submit him. I’ll take less confidence in Jake Paul fighting Nate in MMA because of last weekend. Jake’s best chance of dominating Nate Diaz was in boxing, and he didn’t. While he did win the fight convincingly, he didn’t put him out like many people thought he would – and that’s different.”

‘DC’ Willing to Give Jake Paul Credit Where Credit is Due

Clearly, the UFC Hall of Famer wasn’t entirely impressed with Jake Paul’s performance, but he made it clear that ‘The Problem Child’ is better than many give him credit for.

“Jake Paul, for me, did a good job – but still shows that there’s a lot of work to be done,” Cormier continued. “What I will say about Jake Paul: He’s better than people try to give him credit for and he’s a lot tougher than people try to give him credit for, because one of the areas I thought he would struggle was when it got hard, he would kind of fold up and go back to making videos or doing something different. But he doesn’t pack it in – he fights through the tough times” (h/t MMA Mania).

Previously, Nate Diaz suggested that after handing his business with Jake Paul, he would look to re-sign with the UFC in hopes of closing out his long-awaited trilogy with Irish megastar Conor McGregor. However, the ‘Stockton Samurai’ seemingly accepted Paul’s PFL challenge during a post-fight interview, suggesting that the two men may mix it up in four-ounce gloves before Diaz makes his way back home to the Octagon.

Combat sports icons Conor McGregor and Jake Paul offered their take on the revelation that the UFC may not be involved in the billionaire beatdown between tech gurus Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

On Friday, Musk caught the attention of fight fans after revealing details surrounding his utter ridiculous and all-to-real scrap with Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. Initially, all signs pointed toward the fight taking place inside the Octagon, but according to the Titan of Teslan, the Las Vegas-based promotion won’t have anything to do with the social media smackdown.

“The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC),” Musk posted on X. “Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.”

Suggesting that the fight will not be promoted by the UFC in any way, shape, or form certainly came as a surprise to many. But for former two-division world champion Conor McGregor, it was a welcomed bit of news.

I could not be less interested in this, I am so happy the ufc will not be involved,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted post.

Of course, not everyone was thrilled about Dana White being removed from the equation. One user even suggested that the UFC’s involvement was the only thing keeping the fight from being a complete circus. “If UFC is taken away from the equation, then I see this as a clown show just like those YouTube fights.”

Like Conor McGregor, Jake Paul Applauds Elon Musk’s Decision, but for Decidedly Different Reasons

Another man happy to hear about Elon Musk’s plans for his fight with ‘The Zuck’ was YouTube star and pro boxer Jake Paul. Taking to social media, ‘The Problem Child’ applauded Musk’s decision to drop the UFC and distribute all proceeds to charity. Of course, Paul made it clear that he was interested in being evolved, suggesting Musk could use some of the funds to establish a pension for professional fighters.

“Elon Musk is the real boss of bosses. Meanwhile Dana White selling Musk Zuck t-shirts. This is how you do it. All to charity. Would be amazing to use some of the proceeds to setup a pension plan for fighters. Elon – I am al in to help in any way.”

Responding to his own post on X, Elon Musk also revealed that he underwent an MRI and will likely need to undergo surgery before stepping inside the cage with the META CEO.

“I spent 3 hours in an MRI machine on Monday. Bottom line is that my C5/C6 fusion is solid, so not an issue,” Musk added. “However, there is a problem with my right shoulder blade rubbing against my ribs, which requires minor surgery. Recovery will only take a few months.”

Despite being a constant target for Jake Paul, Dana White holds no ill will toward the social media sensation.

Paul has been a massive advocate for fighter pay in recent years, a stance that has seen him regularly target Dana White, calling out the UFC President in a variety of ways. Most recently, ‘The Problem Child’ took aim at White after tenured UFC standout Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson revealed that he has not received his show money for UFC 291 despite not stepping inside the Octagon.

Though he’s regularly the butt of Jake Paul’s jokes online, Dana White has no animosity with the Youtuber-turned-pro-boxer.

“I don’t f*cking hate Jake Paul,” White said on a recent episode of “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.” “Jake Paul is one of those guys that he’s a young kid, and he’s just trying to get attention. He’s always looking for attention and, he’s doing his thing. Whatever – it’s all good.”

Jake Paul recently added another mixed martial artist to his growing hit list, dispatching former UFC star Nate Diaz via unanimous decision in an entertaining 10-round boxing match at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. ‘The Problem Child’ moved to 7-1 in his combat sports career and bounced back after suffering his first loss against Tommy Fury in February.

Dana White Lauds the Brilliance of Logan Paul

While he may not have a strong opinion on Jake Paul, Dana White is an admittedly big fan of his older brother, Logan Paul.

“The brother is f*cking brilliant,” White said. “I mean, the brother’s f*cking raking in big dough. Logan Paul is a businessman. This kid’s really making some big moves, and KSI too. Those kids are making real money and doing their thing,” (h/t MMA Junkie).

Earlier this year, Logan Paul revealed that his brainchild, PRIME Hydration, would become the official sports drink of the UFC.

Logan Paul has been an active member of the WWE roster over the last year but on October 19, he will make his return to the squared circle for a boxing match with embattled BJJ standout Dillon Danis. The pair are scheduled to co-headline a Misfits boxing event in Manchester, England. The main event is expected to feature Paul’s PRIME business partner KSI as he returns to the ring to take on Tommy Fury.

Jake Paul mocks Nate Diaz's striking how did he hurt anyone with his punches in his career UFC

Turning in a comprehensive unanimous decision victory over former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz over the course of last weekend in Dallas, Texas, outspoken puncher, Jake Paul has questioned how the Stockton veteran managed to hurt any prior opponents, appearing to scoff at the striking ability of the former.

Paul, who improved to 7-1 as a professional with his win over Californian fan-favorite, Diaz atop a pay-per-view event in ‘The Lone Star State’ over the course of last weekend, turned in a rather one-sided unanimous decision (98-91, 97-92, 97-92) win over the former UFC welterweight contender.

Almost finishing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Diaz in the opening round, Ohio boxer, Paul swarmed with a slew of strikes early in the opening frame, as well as then dropping Diaz with a winging left hook in the fourth round – en route to a unanimous judging triumph.

Jake Paul mocks the striking ability of UFC alum, Nate Diaz

And immediately offering Diaz a rematch under the PFL (Professional Fighters League) banner with a purse worth a cool $10,000,000 awaiting the former, Paul certainly fancies his chances of a rematch win under the unified mixed martial arts ruleset, appearing to scoff at the former’s striking prowess.

“Guy’s (Conor McGregor) lost it, he’s lost it,” Jake Paul said of Conor McGregor during an appearance on IMPAULSIVE. “I don’t think he is a good fighter. After I seen what like Nate Diaz did to him, hurting him, like bro, how did Nate Diaz hurt anyone with his punches in his whole entire career? F*cking dropping these guys, hitting Conor and Conor’s wobbling into the cage. I could have stood there with my chin out and let Nate Diaz punch me as hard as he wanted to and the sh*t didn’t hurt at all.”

“The heavier gloves are actually more dangerous,” Jake Paul continued. “Because, would you rather get hit with a 10 pound sledgehammer or a five pound sledgehammer? Also, with a bigger surface area, the trauma gets passed into a bigger surface area, which creates more of an impact on your head.”

Off the back of his judging loss to Diaz, the Stockton native has been welcomed back to the UFC in a potential resigning – by former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor for a trilogy rubber match in the future
