While not a usual topic of discussion in the MMA world, Cardi B is making waves due to her response to insults by former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields on Twitter.
Shields, a veteran of major MMA promotions like the UFC, PFL, and Strikeforce, is known for being outspoken. His Twitter tirade turned to that of misogynist Andrew Tate getting banned from social media, and he didn’t hold back when sharing his opinion.
“People are freaking out about young boys looking up to Andrew Tate but totally fine with young girls looking up to Cardi B and the Kardashians,” Jake Shields began. “Tate’s main message is stop being lazy and making excuses and go work hard and get in shape and make money.”
“Cardi’s is go do drugs,” Shields continued. “F*** random men and go through life as a brain-dead moron.”
Harsh words, and it’s worth noting that Jake Shields came under heavy fire for supporting Andrew Tate. A man who is a self-confessed “misogynist” with some sickening views on women. However, for some reason, Shields defends the man. Going so far as to top off his tirade with a final attempt at defense on Tate’s behalf. “Dozens of rapers have songs glorifying murder,” He said. “But Andrew Tate’s the biggest problem.”
Cardi B claps back at Jake Shields
In a now-deleted tweet, the New York City native would share her thoughts on the situation, and respond to the former Strikeforce champion. “I’m married,” the rapper said. “I don’t smoke weed, I don’t pop pills, I don’t do coke, I’m a mom of 2 and I do a lot of charity work.”
“…But hey,” she continued. “Let me put Cardi into it to defend a man who defends misogyny and rape.”
As far as Andrew Tate goes, he’s been quoted to have said women are property, and similar to dogs. “If I have responsibility over her, then I must have a degree of authority,” Tate said in a Youtube video, according to BBC News. “You can’t be responsible for a dog if it doesn’t obey you,” he concluded.
Unsurprisingly, with poor views such as those, Tate has come under fire seemingly worldwide, a prime factor that lead to his social media accounts being banned.
The misogynistic views of Tate are definitely not shared by anyone here at LowKick MMA, and we encourage everybody to treat people fairly regardless of race or gender.

Former UFC welterweight title challenger, Jake Shields has claimed that he has received an offer of a fight from a Twitter user by the name of ‘Boogerbeard1’, before questioning fans and fellow users of the social media platform how badly he should beat him en route to victory.
Whilst any form of a fight between Shields and the aforenoted Twitter user is currently up in the air, the user provided a snippet from an article on the official UFC website, detailing how featherweight grappler, Chase Hooper, and middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya would corner him.
“His professional debut. It’s hard to tell how serious he is, as we’ve learned, but with (Chase) Hopper sure to serve as his BJJ coach and Israel Adesanya sure to serve as his striking coach, he would, at the very least, have the most famous corner in the game,” The UFC article snippet read.
Sharing that snippet accompanied by a post on his Twitter, the user claimed he would “wear him (Jake Shields) like a skinsuit.”
“I promised I would have a fight coming. Now, it’s time to deliver. I will peel the skin from Jake Shields and body, and wear him like a skinsuit.”
Jake Shields is a longtime student of Jiu-Jitsu standout, Cesar Gracie
“I’ve been challenged to a fight by an internet troll,” Jake Shields tweeted. “I’m gonna leave it up to you the fans how badly I beat him and what I should finish him with.”
Retiring from professional mixed martial arts boasting a 33-11-1(1) record, Shields, a former Strikeforce, Elite XC, Shooto, and Rumble on the Rock champion, has defeated the likes of Ray Cooper, Toby Imada, Dave Menne, Yushin Okami, Carlos Condit, Paul Daley, Robbie Lawler, Dan Henderson, Martin Kampmann, Tyron Woodley, and Demian Maia.

Former UFC fighter Jake Shields says that the UFC is holding his longtime teammate and won’t let him fight out his UFC contract.
The Diaz situation has been a weird one to say the least. Every week he is calling for a someone in the top 10 to fight hm. He religiously calls out the UFC and Dana White, and even went as far as urinating on the UFC performance institute, in an attempt to make the organization mad.
It’s almost been a year since Diaz has step foot inside the octagon. His last fight was against Leon Edwards in a rather one sided bout, until the last minute of the final round. He has not had a fight since, despite never being injured in the time since. He has repeatedly said that he is looking for a fight, so he can finish his current contract with the UFC.
Shields has said that the situation is just a weird one, as Diaz is ready for a fight and wants to stay active, but the UFC will not give him anything substantial.
“The whole situation is just getting weird and frustrating,” Shields said of Diaz’s status. “I don’t think anything’s really changed. It just seems to be the same pattern of Nate wanting to fight. [But the UFC] They’re not offering anything.” Shields said in an interview with Helen Yee (Transcribed by MiddleEasy)
Jake Shields says that Nate Diaz was ready to fight Khamzat Chimaev after he beat a top 10 fighter
‘He always said he wants to fight top 10 because they offered him Khamzat,” he explained. “He wasn’t sure but then he said he’d fight him after the Burns fight, once, you know, he finally beat a ranked opponent and then they went off from the fight after he asked for it. So, seems like it’s been kind of weird, I think. It’s the last fight of his contract, the UFC just don’t want to let him out of his contract.”
The UFC was rumored to have offered a fight with Chimaev to Diaz before the Gilbert Burns fight, but he declined due to Chimaev not being in the top 10.
Do you think Nate Diaz will get a fight soon? Who would you like to see him fight?

Ahead of Front Row Fight Club’s promotional debut: Brawl By The Falls, we recently had a chance to chat with the owner Chris Mancuso himself.
He talked about:
What it means to have FRFC 1 in his hometown of Niagara Falls
The reason behind the name change and re-branding
The return of the Jake Shields Podcast
Future plans for FRFC, the cancellation of TOFC 1 in 2021, and more!
Chris Mancuso Wants to Leave a Legacy Behind with Front Row Fight Club, Discusses Name Change
Beginning the interview with Mancuso, the topic was quickly turned to his son’s birthday, which was the day of the call. Chris Mancuso beamed when his son’s birthday was mentioned and talked about how being a father motivates him to reach for the skies in terms of goals and ambition.
“Being a father motivates me to really be more than a 9-5 dad.. especially when I have sons, and they love sports as much as they do, and even for my daughter… I want to have more than just things and possessions to leave them; I want to leave them with a piece of myself, a piece of legacy.” the young Canadian Promoter said.
The topic then turned to the name change from Tarps Off Fight Club to FRFC.
“We originally planned to come back at the end of April,” He continued. “But in that time, I was approached by an online tech company from the UK… We get into a meeting, and the guys on board are super smart… there’s a whole new way the internet is moving, and these guys are at the front (of it)… they were like, ‘what do you think of changing the name?’”
Mancuso would talk about how skeptical he was at first because he was admittedly attached to the Tarps Off Sports name and what it meant to him. However, after a while, he said the new name started to grow on him.
“The more I thought about it.. you think of sitting first row, there’s that pristine to it… We have plans to go all over, including our second show, which will be in the United States right off the hop.” Which tied into his next point, talking about how the name change opened them up to a wider global audience.
Chris Mancuso On the Return of the Jake Shields Podcast
One of the biggest milestones Mancuso had with Tarps Off Sports was the inception of one of MMA’s most off-the-cuff and unique shows: the Jake Shields Podcast. Originally debuting in May of 2021, the show was only active for nine episodes. However, each show seemed to pack more of a punch and garnered more fans.
When asked about the show, Chris Mancuso had good news for the MMA world.
“Yeah, so Jake, if you follow MMA, you know who Jake is. Founding member of the scrap pack, (a close friend to the) Diaz bros… We found each other on Twitter… ended up hopping on (the podcast). The podcast isn’t necessarily gone. What’s happened is, Jake’s had a few high-end people ask him about taking some private jiu-Jitsu courses. So right now, he’s actually flying weekly to go train high-level people in Brazilian jiu-jitsu…
“And he’s doing amazing at that,” the owner of FRFC said. “And when we had a talk about it, I really was like: ‘Bro, you gotta go for this.’ Cause me and Jake can always pop the podcast back up.”
“It was just getting its pop…” He continued. “It was a super, super, super good show. You haven’t seen the last of me and Jake Shields doing stuff. It’s just Jake has some business that’s way bigger than a podcast going on. But, it does have a date when it will stop, so we’re waiting to get to that point. I’d say look for maybe towards the end of summer.”
