Bobby Green demands fight pursue from UFC No Contest I need my money bro

UFC lightweight staple, Bobby Green called for the entirety of his fight pursue off the back of last night’s first round official ‘No Contest’ against Jared Gordon last night at UFC Vegas 71, claiming the promotion were trying to “slide” him on his money.

Green, a perennial lightweight contender under the banner of the UFC, featured in a main card clash against New York native, Gordon at last night’s UFC Vegas 71 card – returning to the Octagon for the first time this year.

Clashing heads with Gordon during a late first round exchange, Green capitilized on the accidental headbutt, landing a series of ground strikes of the former, appearing to first land a knockout victory via ground strikes.

However, upon review, the Nevada State Athletic Commission officials Octagon-side confirmed that the bout would be overturned to an official ‘No Contest’ – due to the clash of heads, with Green denied his first round KO win.

Bobby Green demands his fight pursue from the UFC

Speaking with media backstage following his walk to the Octagon – albeit, briefly, Green called for the UFC to pay him his fight pursue, accusing them of “sliding” him on his money.

“We’re going to let some feelings out today,” Bobby Green told assembled media following UFC Vegas 71. “F*ck this, f*ck this, and f*ck this. Like, I get it – we f*cking clashed heads. I was trying to go for an elbow, and he (Jared Gordon) kind of dipped his head and we kind of clashed, but he was still f*cking moving. He was trying to put me into a f*cking triangle. I fought the triangle sh*t off, and he was still moving fine, and then after – when I busted his ass – he was f*cked up.”

“They (the UFC) want to try to slide me on my money,” Bobby Green explained. “That’s what I’m mad about. I need my money, bro. I need my money.”

Bobby Green and Jared Gordon fought to a no contest at UFC Vegas 71 after an accidental clash of heads led to what initially looked like a first-round knockout.

Bobby Green came out with his signature style, keeping his lands low and pushing the pace early, but Gordon had some success counter-striking. Things appeared to be trending toward an early finish for the fight as both men were swinging heavy and landing clean. With 30 seconds left in the opening round, Green lunged in looking to throw a left, but instead, he accidentally rammed his head into Gordon’s. Immediately feeling the effects, ‘Flash’ crashed to the canvas allowing Green to unleash some brutal ground and pound that rendered Gordon unconscious.

Following the contest, referee Keith Peterson along with the instant replay officials reviewed the footage and determined that the fight-ending sequence was a direct result of the clash of heads. As a result, the bout was officially ruled a no-contest with just 25 seconds to go in the opening round.

Official Result: Bobby Green vs. Jared Gordon was ruled a no-contest after an accidental headbutt at 4:35 of Round 1

UK phenom Paddy Pimblett has recently had his hopes dashed when it comes to making a 2023 return to the UFC octagon after the ankle injury he suffered at UFC 282 against Jared Gordon.

While all hope is not lost, the UK star admits he is very doubtful it may happen and has said that the actual extent of the damage is a lot worse than doctors and Pimblett himself believed it to be.

Standing at 20-3 overall and 4-0 in the UFC octagon, Pimblett has been hailed as the potential “next Conor McGregor. He has the charisma, the unique look, and the win streak behind him. However, at UFC 282, a controversial decision victory over Gordon made many doubt his skills. Speculation began about how poorly he’d fair amongst the lightweight elite, and sadly the ankle injury Pimblett suffered at UFC 282 has not allowed him to redeem himself or confirm those suspicions as of yet.

Speaking to Sky Sports, ‘The Baddy’ spilled the beans on the status of his injury, and the news was not very positive at all. In fact, Pimblett isn’t even sure when he will return, just that things are indeed a lot worse than everybody had expected.

“I’m about to get surgery after my last fight,” Paddy Pimblett told Sky Sports. “I hurt my foot in the first round, in like the first minute or two, threw a kick, hurt it. I felt it, but obviously, we crack on, we get through the fight.”

“At the end of the fight, I can remember going back to the medical room just saying my foot is sore. Couldn’t get it looked at properly until I got home. Then, when the actual swelling went down – I didn’t know when to get surgery – it was a lot worse than we thought. I had to get inner and outer ligament surgery – well, reconstruction. So it’s big.”

Already on crutches for six weeks at the time of the interview, Paddy Pimblett went on to say he could need another six weeks on them before he could even hope to train and get back to his regular fighting self.

“I’ll be lucky to fight this year,” he admitted.

Paddy Pimblett wants to run it back with Jared Gordon once he’s cleared to return later this year.

The Baddy’ earned his fourth-straight win inside the Octagon at UFC 282, defeating Gordon via unanimous decision. However, the decision would quickly go down as one of the most controversial results in the promotion’s 30-year history with fans, fighters, and media members overwhelmingly scoring it in favor of Gordon after 15 minutes. A fact that continues to annoy Pimblett months later.

Paddy Pimblett recently went under the knife to repair his damaged ankle. During an interview made available on his Youtube channel, Pimblett revealed that the injury in question was sustained during the first round of his December clash with Gordon.

“When I told [doctors] it happened in the first round of a fight, within the first minute, and they said, ‘Oh, did you fight finish there,’ and I was like, ‘No, I’d done another two and a half rounds,’ they went, ‘What?’” Pimblett said. “They said, ‘You should’ve just sat on your stool and not have carried on fighting.’

“I said, ‘Are you mad? You think I’m some p*ssy?’ People are like, ‘Oh, Jared Gordon did so well.’ He only done well because me ankle was f*cked. You stupid tw*t. And he’s just being a bitter little girl, going on every interview site, ‘Oh, I won that fight, I won that fight.’ Well, lad, Joe Solecki beat you [in 2021] but you got a split decision, so shut your mouth.”

Paddy Pimblett Goes Off on Jared Gordon in Expletive-Filled Tirade

Given the controversy surrounding their meeting last year, Paddy Pimblett was asked if he desired a rematch with Gordon.

“Yeah, I want to punch his head in toward the end of the year,” Pimblett responded. “I am going to run it back. I hope he beats Bobby Green because I’ll snap his arm for him in a round. Had a boxing match with him and I still won, because you’re sh*t.

“I hope he watched this. You’re f*cking dog sh*t. At my worst, you couldn’t beat me at your best. Injured, everything going wrong, and you couldn’t beat me on my worst day, and I beat you on your best, because you’re a little bum.”

According to MMADecisions.com, 23 out of the 24 scores reported by members of the media were in favor of Jared Gordon at UFC 282. Fans also heavily favored Gordon on the popular fan-scoring app Verdict. Despite all of this, Paddy Pimblett is still confident that he won their first meeting and is more than willing to run it back in an effort to quiet the critics. Unfortunately, the potential rematch will have to wait as ‘The Baddy’ is still recovering from surgery, a process that could take six to 10 weeks.

Jared Gordon is currently slated to square off with Bobby Green at a UFC Fight Night event on April 22nd.

Polarizing UFC lightweight contender, Paddy Pimblett is sticking to the belief that he landed a decision win over Jared Gordon, albeit close – knocking back criticizm he received from color commentator, Joe Rogan, who claimed the Queens native should have emerged victorious at UFC 282.

Co-headlining UFC 281 in December of last year, Pimblett, a former Cage Warriors featherweight champion, lodged his fourth consecutive victory under the UFC banner – defeating Gordon in a debated and controversial decision victory.

In the immediate aftermath of his victory, Huyton native, Pimblett insisted that he had done enough to prevent his first promotional loss, however, the likes of UFC color commentator, Rogan, and a host of other fighters and commenters in the community voiced their displeasure with the result.

Paddy Pimblett stands by controversial decision win over Jared Gordon

Undergoing ankle surgery following his win over Gordon – which has prevented a third London outing for Pimblett next month at UFC 286, the Next Generation MMA stalwart offered to rematch Gordon later this year, insisting he won the December clash regardless.

I still think I won,” Paddy Pimbeltt told MMA Junkie. “I won the first two rounds. The first round was closer than I thought on the night. I’ve watched it back. On the night, I thought he (Jared Gordon) only hit me with about two left hooks. I watched it back and he hit me with about six, seven. But yeah, I watched it back and I thought I won the first two rounds. I thought he won the third by just pushing me against the wall, but I think he got about two significant strikes that round all together.

I ended up getting him down,” Paddy Pimblett explained. “So, it’s however you scored the first round. But I scored it two rounds to me. If everyone wants to see it again, I don’t mind beating him at the end of the year, lad. Hopefully, he beats Bobby Green, then if he wants to fight toward the back end of the year, I’m game.

Taking umbrage with calls of a close nature against Gordon, Pimblett admitted that he was not as dominant in the victory as he initially believed.

I’ve seen people giving me stick for saying I won the fight after it, but what do you want me to do?” Paddy Pimblett asked. “Say, ‘Oh, I think I lost it.’ I do think I won. As I said, I’ve watched the fight back and I don’t think it was as dominant as I thought it was straight after it.

I felt brilliant going into that last fight,” Paddy Pimblett continued. “My fight camp was amazin. Never had any injuries or nothing like that going into it. But then when I was in there it just didn’t click. I just didn’t feel good. I felt like sh*t. … That’s probably my worst performance of them all. I was just glad that I went three fives (five minute rounds).
