Worst Idea Ever: Dorky NY Comedian Challenges GSP to Fight on His Cable Access Show

Comedian Chris Gethard (imagine having that surname in high school) appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to issue a challenge to injured UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre to fight him on his New York cable access television show.

According to Gethard, facing a big profile name like St-Pierre could propel him to superstardom if he manages to pull of a win like his fellow New Yorker Matt Serra did against the dominant champ.

“Let’s think of it this way, I’m just a regular dude. When I walked out here all these people were like, ‘Who? Who is that?’ Imagine if a guy just like me manages to beat the champ,” Gethard told Fallon. “It will be just like ‘Rocky.’ Gethard is the new Rocky, man. Like Micky Ward.”

All he has to do is say he thinks St-Pierre is a chicken and is ducking him and he’s have the fight. Ask Nick Diaz.

This isn’t the first time Gethard, (pronounced “geth-erd”) has publicly called out a celebrity. In 2010 he campaigned via Twitter to persuade Shawn “P-Diddy” Combs to appear on his show. 13 months later Combs agreed and guested on the show last January. While it’s unlikely that GSP will accept Gethard’s challenge unless he wants a homicide on his record, there’s a good chance that “Rush” will make a stop in New York to be on the show if the campaign takes off.

If you want to see the “fight” happen, you can send a Tweet to GSP’s official Twitter account with the homoertotic hashtag #GSPGethard. Be prepared to be ridiculed by your friends, though.

Alternatively, you could use #GethardDeathwish.

Check out a sample of Gethard’s brand of comedy below.

Video: Herb Dean on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”

How appropriate is it that a man nicknamed “The Predator” would referee a match-up of giant, pedophillic mustaches?

How appropriate is it that a man nicknamed “The Predator” would referee a match-up of giant, pedophillic mustaches?

Now that Movember has passed us by, this bit of MMA-themed mustache hilarity comes to us courtesy of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which has been known to cater to the stars of the octagon before. Featuring the long awaited World Heavyweight Handlebar Championship bout between Herman Cain‘s pencil thin soup strainer and Mario Mario‘s plumber stache, the fight quickly devolved into the sloppiest slugfest we’ve seen this side of Hunt/Rothwell.

As always, Luigi had to step in and save Mario’s ass. And it’s clear that during the commercial break, Mario’s mustache resorted to the ultimate dirty tactic, no, not the transparent kick to the balls, we’re talking about the Bob-Omb. Though his facial hair won the battle, Mario was inappropriately fondled by Cain backstage, so we all know who won the war.

We’re just happy that Fallon managed to make it a whole sketch without cracking up.

Jason Miller made a stop on “The Late Show With Jimmy Fallon” last night ahead of Wednesday’s The Ultimate Fighter 14 premiere and among other things “Mayhem” shared his thoughts on how he would fare against Jason Statham and Jason Bourne.

Although he only talked briefly about TUF and his opposing coach Michael Bisping, the “Bully Beatdown” host did express his true dislike for “The Count” and said he’s looking forward to smashing him when they square off on December 3 at the show’s finale.

With the appearance, Miller joins the likes of UFC president Dana White, former UFC light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans, former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar, who have all appeared on the late-night show. Current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and his next opponent,  Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will be on Monday’s show.
