Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira title fight possible Joe Rogan pushing me to book it

Amid fan fervour, UFC CEO, Dana White has revealed a potential super fight between Octagon champions, Jon Jones and Alex Pereira is a real “possibility” – with veteran color-commentator, Joe Rogan pushing the former to book the pairing.

Jones, the current heavyweight champion and a former two-time light heavyweight gold holder, has been sidelined for over 500 days, and is expected to make his return at the end of this year after he deals with two misdeameanor charges in relation to a March incident with a drug testing agent.

All but booked to take on former two-time heavyweight gold holder, Stipe Miocic in his return at UFC 309 in November at Madison Square Garden, Jones’ most recent win came in the form of a first round guillotine choke submission win over Ciryl Gane in March of last year.

As for former two-weight champion, Pereira, the Sao Paulo knockout artist headlined UFC 303 at the end of last month, laying waste to former champion, Jiri Prochazka with a devastating second round high-kick knockout.

And staking his claim for a heavyweight move in a bid to become the first-ever three-divison champion in the history of the UFC, Pereira has been heavily linked with a title fight against Jones in the near future.

Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira still “possible” as per Dana White

According to White, a clamored-for title super pairing between Jones and Pereira is a real “possibility”, with the above-mentioned, Rogan leading the charge to get the matchup made.

“Possibility,” Dana White said on The Big Podcast of a fight between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira. “I mean, (Joe) Rogan is pushing me right now to try and make that fight. It’s just – guys, let me explain something to you. Jon Jones is a whole other – Jon Jones – I consider Jon Jones to be the greatest combat fighter of all-time.”

“When you talk about the (Muhammad) Ali’s and the this and that – and let me tell you what, I got Ali’s picture on everywhere,” Dana White explained. “I love Muhammad Ali, I love Mike Tyson. Jon Jones is the nastiest dude ever.”

Who do you think wins in a future super fight: Jon Jones or Alex Pereira?

Most MMA fans will find it hard to argue against the fact that Jon Jones is the greatest fighter to ever compete in the sport.

From being the youngest UFC champion in history to defending the belt 11 times consecutively and then going up to heavyweight and becoming champion in that division also, “Bones” has done it all.

The one issue that comes with arguing his case is whether or not you have to add a footnote to some of his wins because of several failed drug tests throughout his career.

There is some form of explanation for some of these, but not everyone is willing to accept these reasonings because of how often they’ve become talking points.

Joe Rogan References Lance Armstrong When Debating Whether Or Not Jon Jones Was Guilty Of Cheating

During a recent podcast episode, a former opponent of Jones’, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson appeared on the JRE MMA Show alongside UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Jackson, like many fans, assumed that some of Jones’ career was up for debate because of the positive tests that he hadn’t looked into in lots of detail.

Rogan then explained what the issue is with some of these findings and why some still believe that the current heavyweight champion is in the clear.

“He did but the problem that he got popped with, there were so miniscule levels that it didn’t make sense.”

Jackson responded, stating that given the fact that the conversation began by talking about Alistair Overeem, his former opponent never appeared to give off signs of performance enhancing drugs from his appearance alone.

“He don’t look like somebody that does steroids.”

Rogan made the point of how some of the most famous examples of athletes using steroids or other drugs to cheat didn’t necessarily give it away just by looking at them, referencing Lance Armstrong who was stripped of his record-setting seven consecutive Tour de France victories.

“No he doesn’t… but neither did Lance Armstrong… he was doing testosterone, he was definitely doing that too. Those guys were doing a lot of s***.”

Rampage Jackson was a legendary figure in Japan as he competed in Pride from 2001 until 2006 as he had 19 straight fights in Japan.

With Jackson being a beloved figure in Japan, he met a member of the Yazuka Gang, who was running Japan at that time. The gang was involved in gambling, drug trafficking, and extortion and they allegedly had ties to Pride.

After some time, Rampage Jackson finally met a gang member who found out he had a Japanese kid, and the gang member gave him a unique gift.

“I had a friend out there. His name was 36 and the guy took a liking to me. He was super cool all [tattooed] up. I think he was super rich. When he found out that I had Japanese kids he said, ‘Your son needs this’. It was like a gold samurai helmet,” Jackson said on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Jackson says his ex-wife told him the gift was worth around $30,000 to $40,000.

Rampage Jackson did return to Japan for his last MMA fight back in 2019 as he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Fedor Emelinaneko.

Rampage Jackson teases boxing return

Rampage Jackson was linked to a boxing match with Shannon Briggs last month in Qatar but the fight was scratched due to some concerns the promotion was scamming them.

Although Jackson is hopeful he still can box Briggs, he doubts it will happen and instead is turning his attention to a boxing match against Rashad Evans.

“He and I are talking about doing a boxing match against each other in November,” Jackson said. “We’re trying to get that going.”

Evans has also expressed interest in the boxing match with Jackson and it does seem likely it will happen soon.

Jackson is 38-14 as a pro-MMA fighter but hasn’t fought since 2019. He is the former UFC light heavyweight champion.

Joe Rogan claims Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury fight wad fixed they could pull it off

Veteran UFC color-commentator, Joe Rogan has speculated that last year’s professional boxing match between former undisputed WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, and ex-UFC champion, Francis Ngannou was fixed – believing the latter likely should have been awarded the victory.

Sharing the squared circle in October of last year, former UFC heavyweight kingpin, Ngannou made his professional boxing debut against the then-unbeaten WBC gold holder, Fury, sharing the ring over the course of 10 rounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

And landing huge plaudits for his stunning, upset performance against storied Morecambe native, Fury in his first-ever outing in professional boxing, Ngannou even managed to score a massive knockdown on the WBC champion, sending him to the canvas flush.

However, dropping a hugely controversial split decision loss come the culmination of the bout, Ngannou stressed his belief that he should have actually prevailed with a win, before admitting he was never going to be able to score a judges win in their crossover.

Joe Rogan claims “fix was in” on Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury fight

And reflecting on the huge boxing clash, the above-mentioned, Rogan boldly claimed during a recent podcast appearance that he believes the “fix was In” on Ngannou’s clash with Fury, and insisted the Cameroon striker should have won.

“I thought he (Francis Ngannou) won that fight,” Joe Rogan said. “But, you know, they were setting up that [Oleksandr] Usyk fight [for Tyson Fury]. They were not gonna let – yeah, it just seemed like the fix was in a little bit.”

“It was close enough that they could pull it off,” Joe Rogan explained. “You could go, ‘OKay, maybe. Maybe you could see him winning that,’ but i don’t think so. I thought Francis won it. A lot of people thought Francis won it.”

Making his sophomore outing in professional boxing in March of this year, Batie knockout ace, Ngannou was felled with a hellacious second round knockout loss to former two-time world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua in the Middle East.

Joe Rogan recalls the time he saved a nightclub bouncer from getting KO'd by UFC champ Leon Edwards

Joe Rogan saved a nightclub guard from getting his ass handed to him by the welterweight world champion.

During a recent episode of his JRE Fight Companion podcast, the longtime UFC commentator recalled back to a 2021 incident when he had to intervene and stop a bouncer from making “the biggest mistake” of his life. After hosting ‘Rocky’ on his show, Rogan went out to a club with Edwards and comedian Dave Chappelle.

Leon Edwards

As their evening came to a close a security guard became overly aggressive toward Edwards, seemingly unaware that he was attempting to push around one of the best fighters on the planet.

Recognizing the potential disaster about to unfold, Rogan stepped in and informed the guard of the mistake he was about to make.

“I brought Leon to a show,” Rogan recounted. “Me and him were hanging out then afterwards we all went out to this club. There was this dude, but he was a bodyguard and he talked shit to Leon Edwards. It was at the end of the night and this guy decided he was going to kick everybody out. For some reason, he singled out Leon and he got in his face and said something like, ‘Hey man, I f*cking told you it’s time to leave.’

“And then I got in between and said, ‘I know you’ve probably made some f*cked up mistakes in your life, but you’re about to make the biggest one.’ I go, ‘That’s one of the baddest motherf*ckers on the planet and you’re about to make one of the biggest mistakes of your life’ and he’s like, ‘I’m sorry.’

Leon Edwards goes for his third successful title defense at uFC 304 in Manchester

After scoring his second-straight defense of the welterweight title against an undeserving Colby Covington at UFC 296 in December, ‘Rocky’ will return to the Octagon on July 27 for a clash with the division’s top-ranked contender, Belal Muhammad. The pair will headline UFC 304 when the promotion heads back to Manchester.

Leon Edwards vs. Belal

The fight will serve as a rematch between the two after their first meeting in March 2021 ended in a no-contest after Edwards inadvertently poked Muhammad in the eye, bringing a stop to the fight 18 seconds into the second round.

Belal

‘Remember The Name’ is currently sitting on a nine-fight win streak dating back to April 2019. His last four victories have come against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, Vicente Luque, Sean Brady, and Gilbert Burns — all top 15 opponents in the 185-pound division.
