Joe Rogan reacts to the recent criticism given to him by former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

It all started when McGregor talked about possibly appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast over the weekend in Chicago. This led to him making some interesting comments towards Rogan regarding his commentary. Spechiappy, his fights against Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Rogan fired back at the former UFC champion on Tuesday during an episode of his podcast.

“That is not really true because no one ever gives me a script, Rogan stated (H/T to MMA Weekly). That’s a fact. I don’t know what exactly he said, maybe he didn’t like my commentary. I bet he likes it when he wins. That’s his perception, I understand what he’s saying. Sometimes people think that but it’s very difficult when someone is calling your fight. If he’s talking about me calling someone’s fight that’s not his friend, that makes much more sense. It’s f—king hard. It’s hard for me. I have a really hard time calling friend’s fights. It’s f—king hard.”

As seen in the main event of UFC 229 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Nurmagomedov beat McGregor by fourth-round neck crank.

The second fight with Diaz came back at UFC 202 when Diaz suffered a majority decision loss. This came five months after Diaz submitted McGregor in their first bout at UFC 196.

For Rogan, he calls the fight like he sees it and uses past fights to dictate how the next fight of a fighter goes should it be a rematch.

“I get his position,” Rogan said.”That Diaz fight was a good f—king fight. It was a hard fight. I wasn’t calling it like the last fight but I had to call it with the knowledge of the last fight. I had to know what happened in the last fight. In the last fight, Diaz survived the storm, tagged him, had him rocked and then finished him on the ground.

“It doesn’t mean that he didn’t win the second fight. It was a close f—king fight, the second fight was a very close fight but you have to acknowledge that, that other fight took place. I don’t know him that well but I like him a lot,” Rogan said about McGregor. “I respect the f—k out of him.”

Joe Rogan offers a reason that he thinks a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone may not happen. This has been a fight that many fans have expressed interest in seeing. While McGregor and Cerrone have hinted at it, UFC President Dana White has made it known that it’s not a done deal.

Just last month, the former lightweight title contender teased the possible dates in a recent photo shared on his Instagram account. He captioned it with, “April 13 or July 6th.” Then he would follow it up with July 6th as the likely confirmed date.

The longtime UFC color commentator talked about this fight between Cerrone and the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion. This talk came about on his most recent podcast with former UFC star Brendan Schaub.

According to Rogan, the problem come down to the position of the card as he’s heard the UFC wanted to place them in the co-main event.

“They were trying to do ‘Cowboy’ versus Conor and apparently the sticking point was that it was going to be a co-main event,” Rogan said (H/T to MMANews). “I think the idea is that they have to have world titles as a main event for pay-per-view.”

“I think he’s only interested in big fights,” Rogan said. “Like things that excite him now because he’s got so much money and so much success. It’s just one of those things.”

If this is true that the UFC wanted to put their biggest star and PPV draw in a co-headlining role is surprising. It’s also hard to believe. Time will tell whether this fight actually gets booked.
