Earlier this month, YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul made their professional boxing debuts, headlining a Matchroom Boxing event on DAZN.

When it was all said and done after six rounds in the cruiserweight division, KSI was declared the winner via decision. The event received mixed reviews from the combat sports community, especially with world-class fighters, such as Billy Joe Saunders, being featured on the card below the YouTube stars.

Recently, longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan took to his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” to offer his thoughts on the event. Rogan decided to look at the positives in the card, especially for guys like Saunders. (H/T BJPenn.com)

“It was the headliner of a card with a Billy Joe Saunders fight,” Rogan said. “Billy Joe Saunders is one of the best fighters in the world. He’s an elite fighter. World champion. He defended his title on the undercard of two YouTube guys fighting [laughs].

“For him, I’m sure he’s just like ‘I’m getting paid! It’s good for him, so people can see what a killer he is. People didn’t know who he is — you didn’t know who he is. Now you do. It’s like it’s good. He won by knockout. It was a good showcase for him.”

As for the main event between KSI and Paul, Rogan saw very little art in the matchup.

“Dude they’re two YouTubers fighting, there’s no art,” Rogan said. “There’s some art to it. It’s a creation, there’s some drama, a lot of shit’s going down.”

YouTube personality Logan Paul will officially appeal his defeat to KSI in their boxing match earlier this month.

After their white-collar boxing match ended in a split draw last year, the two met professionally in a rematch promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing. It was a back-and-forth bout that ultimately ended with KSI getting the split decision win.

However, there was plenty of controversy with Paul being deducted two points following his knockdown of KSI. The American caught him with a beautiful uppercut but then proceeded to grab him and land another one as KSI was going down.

In the end, the final scorecards read 56-55, 57-54 and 55-56 in favor of KSI. Had Paul only been deducted one point, he wouldn’t have lost. That is why he has decided to appeal the result:

“My team and I have decided to file an official appeal for the fight because we just don’t believe that the outcome was right,” Paul told TMZ (via MMA Mania). “The two-point deduction was the reason I full out split decision lost the fight.

“By no means am I afraid of losing, but I truthfully 100-percent believe I did not lose this fight.”

This past Saturday, one of the biggest fights of the weekend featured two YouTube stars in KSI and Logan Paul. The pair made their professional boxing debuts for Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn, main eventing the DAZN card.

After six rounds in the cruiserweight division, KSI was declared the winner via split decision. Now, the disclosed purses for the two social media celebrities have been released, and they made a very nice chunk of change for the bout.

Per the Los Angeles Times and Boxing Scene’s Manouk Akopyan, KSI and Paul each hauled in $900,000 for the fight, making more than even WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders.

“Logan Paul and KSI will each earn $900,000 guaranteed on Saturday for their fight at Staples Center, per the CSAC. Devin Haney is making $1 million for his WBC title defense. Billy Joe Saunders will earn $750K for his WBO title defense.”

After the fight concluded, KSI noted he was done fighting Paul, and is now on to his next endeavor. As for Paul, he said he’s open to fighting again, and agreed when KSI said he should fight in MMA. KSI even suggested Paul fight CM Punk in the UFC.

Last night (Sat. November 9, 2019) Logan Paul lost his professional boxing debut against fellow YouTube star KSI.

The pair went six rounds in the cruiserweight division for Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn on DAZN. When it was all said and done, KSI was awarded the split decision victory.

It didn’t take long for Bellator star Dillon Danis, who has been campaigning for a fight with Logan’s brother, Jake, for quite some time, to react to the result.

Here’s what Danis had to say on Twitter.

“to be honest @jakepaul better thank god every day that i wasn’t allowed in that arena, cause if i was, i woulda slapped his face back behind his hairline”

“meet me in the parking lot @jakepaul for the real main event”

“congrats @KSIOlajidebt!”

Danis then deleted a Tweet in which he bashed Logan Paul’s performance, and apologized for picking on the other Paul brother.

“sorry for picking on you @LoganPaul actually thought you were half decent”

It will be interesting to see if a fight between Danis and Jake Paul eventually develops. The pair have built up quite the feud with each other on social media.

The madness that was KSI vs. Logan Paul II is finally in the books. Yesterday (Sat. November 9, 2019) KSI and Paul made their professional boxing debuts against one another for Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing on DAZN.

Both KSI and Paul went six rounds in the cruiserweight division. There was a lot of controversy throughout the fight in regards to knockdowns. Paul looked like the more technical of the pair, but KSI landed far more power shots with his wild style of swinging overhands.

When it was all said and done, KSI took home the split decision win, much to the crowd’s delight. KSI said he’s done fighting Paul, but Paul said he intends on fighting again in the future. Paul fighting in MMA was briefly mentioned, but not elaborated on. KSI suggested Paul fight CM Punk in the UFC.
