KSI was able to open up the card and take the first match against Swarmz. KSI was putting it on Swarmz early, but Swarmz was able to make it through to the second round. KSI will make his boxing return later this evening when he faces rapper Swarmz in the opening matchup of the event before closing out the card against professional boxer Luis Alcarez Pineda. KSI was originally set to face fellow YouTuber Alex Wassabi, but he had to withdraw from the bout due to suffering a concussion.

Despite having two opponents to overcome later this evening, if successful the YouTube star has welcomed the opportunity to face fellow social media personality Jake Paul who has amassed an undefeated 5-0 record since entering the world of boxing.

Taking to social media KSI responded to critics who claimed Jake Paul would beat him if the two were to ever match up.

“Crying from outside of the club ??. Jake Paul and you can get it soon.

I WANT ALL THE SMOKE ?

YouTube star KSI returns to Boxing after over 1000 days since his last matchup

KSI’s only professional bout came against the brother of Jake Paul, Logan, who he was able to beat via split-decision back in 2019. Since this bout, the pair have put their differences aside to work together on a business venture known as ‘Prime’, a sports hydration drink.

Whilst he was able to reconcile with one Paul, that seems unlikely with the other as he and Jake often exchange blows on Twitter.

Jake Paul was supposed to compete earlier this month but saw his initial opponent Tommy Fury withdraw due to travel issues only for the replacement opponent Hasim Rahman Jr also have to miss out on the opportunity due to not being granted permission to compete by the athletic commission where the event was being held.

In his most recent outing, Paul stopped former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, inside the distance, having gone to a decision against ‘The Chosen One just four months prior to the rematch.

You can catch all the action over at DAZN pay-per-view. If you are not subscribed to DAZN it will cost £19.98, however, if you are already a subscriber to the streaming site, you can purchase the fight for £11.99.

29-year-old Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, better known by social media fans and combat sports enthusiasts as KSI will face not one, but two challengers on the same night. Emanating from the famous O2 Arena in London, KSI will take on English rapper and boxer Swarmz and Mexican professional boxer Luis Alcarez Pineda.

Ahead of the highly-anticipated event, KSI went face-to-face with both of his opponents at the same time before they square off on Saturday night.

Originally scheduled to face Alex Wassabi, the American pulled out of the fight due to injury. While resident ‘Problem Child’ Jake Paul offered up his services following his own fight’s cancellation, KSI went a different route announcing that Swarmz would step in to take Wassabi’s place. Fans were less than impressed with the replacement and quickly accused KSI of intentionally choosing a weaker opponent for his showing at the O2.

In response, KSI initially brought in Bulgarian fighter Ivan Nikolov to compete in a second fight with the YouTube star on the same night. With a record of 3-16-0, Nikolov did not appear to be much of a threat, but the fact that KSI was willing to face both fighters back-to-back on the same night had piqued the interest of fight fans. Shortly after the announcement, Nikolov was promptly removed from the bout after being exposed for having ‘neo-Nazi tattoos and white supremacist beliefs.’

Luis Alcarez Pineda Steps in to Face KSI in Dual Main Event

KSI commented on Nikolov’s removal from the contest and announced that Luis Alcarez Pineda would be stepping up to take his place keeping the two-fight main event intact.

“I replaced my second opponent because… he’s a white supremacist,” KSI said in an interview with The Sun. “Ivan isn’t my opponent anymore. He has been removed. The matchmaker also got fired for allowing this to happen in the first place. But yes, my new opponent is Luis Alcarez Pineda. He has a better record to be honest, 2-5, so he hasn’t lost as many times as Ivan. He’s Mexican, younger as well, 23.”

Pineda enters the bout with a record of 2-5-0, a losing record albeit better than that of Nikolov. The Mexican fighter has scored two unanimous decision wins over Pablo Poom Leal and Jose Adolfo in his professional career.

Although KSI opted not to take Jake Paul up on his offer to step in and face him in London’s main event, the YouTube star claims to have every intention of taking on ‘The Problem Child’ when he feels he is ready.

“I want to f*ck him (Jake Paul) up, essentially. But in order to do that, I need to be constantly testing myself, pushing myself, and seeing how far I can go. I feel like even fighting two people in one night is a perfect way to do that. No one else has done it that I know in recent years, especially in YouTube boxing. I thought ‘hey, I’ve got good stamina, I’m ready, I feel confident in general and in myself, so let’s get it.”

YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI will be boxing two people on the same night, on August 27th

KSI will go toe to toe with rapper, and semi professional futbol player, Swarmz in the first bout. He then announced that he will also be facing off against a professional boxer, Ivan Nikolov. KSI hasn’t boxed since he fought Logan Paul back in 2019, winning the bout by decision. Ince that fight, KSI has been focusing more on YouTube and his potential rap career.

KSI was supposed to box against another YouTuber, Alex Wassabi. Wassabi had to pull out of the fight, causing Swarmz to step in for the YouTuber. The Fight will take place on DAZN as a Pay-Per-View. Wassabi also beat KSI’s brother, Deji, earlier this year.

Nikolov has a professional record of 3-16-2, and predominately boxes prospects that are looking to fluff up their record.

KSI announced the fight on his YouTube

“Yes, you heard that right ladies and gentlemen,” KSI said. “I, KSI, will be fighting two people, on August 27th. I mean, that alone should enough for you to want to buy the pay-per-view on DAZN. Two for the price of one ladies and gentlemen. I mean, are you not entertained? It’s never been done before in YouTube boxing.” (Transcribed by BJPenn.com)

It seems as if KSI will be opening the event, and closing the event, with the Main Event of the evening being against Nikolov. The matches will be taking place at the O2 Arena, in London, England, which is also KSI’s hometown. KSI had turned down an offer to fight Jake Paul on the 27th, making fans criticize him for not taking the fight. Paul had poked fun at the YouTuber for taking the fight against Swarmz, and not against him.

Professional boxer, KSI (Olajide Olatunde) has drawn criticism across social media for his decision to accept a short notice fight with friend and fellow rapper, ‘Swarmz’ on August 27. at the O2 Arena in London – despite receiving another short notice offer to fight the undefeated, Jake Paul on the same card at 180lbs.

KSI, who was initially scheduled to fight against Alex Wassabi in his first squared circle matchup since 2019, made his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul’s elder sibling, Logan Paul – landing a close, split decision win at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Originally slated to fight fellow YouTuber, Wassabi on August 27. – the latter was forced from the end-of-month headliner due to a reported concussion, leading to a short notice offer from Paul to fight his U.K. rival on the same date.

Set to return to the ring this week, Paul saw a pair of matches against both Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. shelved, resulting in the entire cancellation of his promoted Madison Square Garden card.

KSI has been ridiculed for accepting a fight with ‘Swarmz’ instead of Jake Paul

Accepting a short notice offer to fight the aforenoted ‘Swamrz’ – whom previously recorded a song with KSI, has landed the latter some criticizm, namely from Paul across social media in a series of tweets.

“KSI vs. Swampz (sic) (laughing face emoji),” Jake Paul tweeted. “Don’t they have music together? He’s fighting someone who has never fought before and that is his friend… This fight should be free.”

“Mums: “JJ (KSI) how do we see this fight? You and Swampz (sic) made a song together…” Jake Paul tweeted. “JJ: “Well he once was 3 hours late to a video shoot we were doing. That made me very upset.”

“When Tommy (Fury) pulled out we gave the fans the choice to refund their tickets if they didn’t want to see the replacement,” Jake Paul tweeted. “KSI & @TheO2 how do fans get refunded?”
