On Saturday night, former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, made his first appearance for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Stepping inside the squared circle, Rockhold squared off with former UFC standout ‘Platinum’ Mikey Perry in the BKFC 41 headliner.

Mike Perry jumped off the scratch line and immediately put pressure on Rockhold in the first round. Near the end of the round, Rockhold landed a big left hand that rocked Perry. ‘Platinum’ responded with a big left hand of his own that had Rockhold hurt. Backpedaling quickly, Rockhold used his reach advantage to land another solid left as Perry pursued.

Perry came out for the second bringing pressure once again. ‘Platinum’ began targeting the body of Rockhold and landed a big right hand on Rockhold in the process. In an odd turn of events, Rockhold removed his mouthpiece mid-fight and made it clear to referee Dan Miragliotta that he did not want to continue. The bout was waved off as a result.

Francis Ngannou backed for taking stance against UFC he's a real man with f*cking balls

Former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold has heaped praise on former promotional heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou for taking a stance against the organization, claiming “yes men” has landed the Dana White-led outfit into it’s current standing.

Ngannou, a former undisputed heavyweight champion under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from active competition since headlining UFC 270 back in January of last year, successfully unifying the heavyweight titles in a unanimous decision victory over then-interim gold holder, Ciryl Gane.

Departing the promotion back in January of this year following the completion of his contractual obligations in December of last year, Francis Ngannou has yet to ink terms with any promotion to make a return to mixed martial arts.

Linked with an immediate transition to professional boxing, the Cameroonian is set for crunch talks with Singapore-based promotion, ONE Championship this weekend, as he continues to find himself tied to a potential move to the Chatri Sityodtong-led mixed martial arts promotion.

Leaving the UFC in unceremonious circumstances, in which the above-mentioned, White insisted Ngannou would never be welcomed back to the promotion, former middleweight titleholder, Rockhold has backed the former heavyweight best in his exit.

“Francis (Ngannou) – he’s a real man with f*cking balls,” Luke Rockhold said during a recent interview with MMA Fighting reporter, Damon Martin. “And he can make a decision. There’s too many ‘yes’ men in the world. The UFC is where it is today because all those motherf*ckers are ‘yes’ men. And they’re just playing their game so the UFC is going to keep playing their game and keep controlling the fighters.”

“If there weren’t as many ‘yes’ men – if there were more Francis Ngannous, and Luke Rockholds, and people that had a f*cking pair of balls, we’d have an even f*cking playing field,” Luke Rockhold explained. “We’d have an even f*cking playing field. But there’s too many b*tches in the world.”

Luke Rockhold eyes potential UFC return despite retiring it's on my terms

Former undisputed UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold has failed to rule out the possibility of making a return to the Octagon in the future, despite calling time on his professional mixed martial arts career back in August of last year.

Rockhold, a former undisputed middleweight champion under the banners of the UFC and Strikeforce, called time on his mixed martial arts career back in August of last year, after marking his return to the Octagon at UFC 278.

Featuring in a main card clash against one-time middleweight title challenger, Paulo Costa, Californian veteran, Rockhold suffered a unanimous decision loss, in a heralded back-and-forth clash.

Slated to return to combat sports this month under the banner of BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship), Rockhold is set to clash with former UFC welterweight contender, Mike Perry in a main event slot in Colorado.

Luke Rockhold fails to rule out potential UFC comeback

Weighing up a potential return to mixed martial arts, Rockhold claimed that he would, however, only consider a comeback to the UFC if it was on his own terms.

“Who knows if I’m gonna go back [to UFC] or not,” Luke Rockhold told Submission Radio during a recent interview. “I don’t know. If it’s on my terms – I might still go back. You never know, but I’m gonna continue doing what I’m doing right now, and I’m gonna keep knocking f*cking peoples’ heads off and let my legs heal up and improve my hands. Make some f*cking money.”

Taking inspiration from newly minted undisputed middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, Rockhold branded the Nigerian-Kiwi as a “f*cking gangster”.

“It was picture f*cking perfect,” Luke Rockhold said of Israel Adesanya’s win over Alex Pereira at UFC 287. “Good for him. …I’m sure I inspired ‘Izzy’ when he was younger and he’s inspiring me now. You can draw inspiration through everybody. He’s a f*cking gangster.”

He doesn’t understand danger; he’s so f*cking dumb. It makes him effective, but also I think it’s gonna leave me the opening so I can put this kid away. I’m big, and I hit hard.
