UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping has commented on Conor McGregor’s recent scuffle with music star Machine Gun Kelly on the MTV VMAs red carpet at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

A couple of explanations for the scuffle have already been offered up. It was originally reported that the confrontation was triggered by MGK refusing to take a picture with McGregor. Later, it was suggested that the former dual-weight UFC champion had been slipping into the DMs of Kelly’s girlfriend, Megan Fox.

Bisping explained why he thinks McGregor and the music artist ended up in a confrontation, citing the possibility of McGregor being pain meds from his leg injury.

“I’ve been there,” Bisping said on his “Believe You Me” podcast. “I mean, I’ve not been there doing that at the MTV f*cking music awards. What I mean is that I’ve had surgery, and the medication that they give you, you lose your f*cking mind. I think a lot of that was (Sunday) because he was out of his mind, on the pain pills because that’s how it goes.

“They make you very f*cking antsy, very erratic, very angry. Me and Callum, Callum is the calmest kid ever. Callum was f*cking arguing with everything I was saying when he had surgery. They kind of make you like that. I don’t know. I’m not making excuses for him, but just from what I saw, I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ve had that feeling before.’” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

Bisping was recently on the receiving end of McGregor’s rage. The British MMA legend got into a social media spat with ‘Notorious’ who wasn’t afraid to hit below the belt during the online beef. Things between the two had quietened down as of late, it’s unclear if Bisping’s latest comments will restart the rivalry.

Dana White isn’t worried about Conor McGregor after his run-in with Machine Gun Kelly at the VMA’s on Sunday.

The UFC’s biggest star got into a physical altercation with the recording artist. It was originally reported that the confrontation was triggered by MGK refusing to take a picture with McGregor. Later, it was suggested that the former dual-weight UFC champion had been slipping into the DMs of Kelly’s girlfriend, Megan Fox.

Whatever the reason for McGregor and Kelly’s beef, it now appears to have been squashed.

The UFC president recently revealed to media that he had spoken to both men and it was all just one big misunderstanding.

“I talked to both. actually,” White said following Tuesday’s Dana White’s Contender Series 39 event. “They’re all good now. (It was) A misunderstanding, or whatever it was.”

White insists he’s not concerned about McGregor’s recent erratic behaviour.

“Guys, this is the fight business,” White said. “I got 700 lunatics under contract here. What do you guys think – these are the things that happen sometimes. This isn’t Microsoft. We’re in a crazy f*ckin’ business here.

“I think we all know Conor’s personality, and we’ve got some guys that were like that. These guys are fighters, and this is the fight business. Crazy sh*t happens in the fight business.”

“There’s all the sh*t that you guys know about because it happens in public,” White added. “Nevermind the sh*t you don’t know about that happens every day.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

McGregor is currently in recovery after suffering a nasty leg break just one round into his third fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The Irishman recently revealed he feels ready to start kicking again but has been advised by medical professionals to wait a bit longer. ‘Notorious’ is expected to make his eagerly anticipated return to the Octagon in the summer of next year.

Dana White has given his take on the altercation between former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and popular rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

On the red carpet ahead of the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, McGregor came to blows with the multi-platinum recording artist. A source told PEOPLE Magazine that the incident stemmed from the Irishman’s desire to take a photo with MGK. When the 31-year-old’s team apparently denied the request, McGregor appeared to yell at the singer, who was accompanied by his girlfriend Megan Fox.

One video shows the “Notorious” megastar throwing a drink towards MGK as he’s held back by security. While McGregor’s antics should never surprise us at this point, a near-scrap with Machine Gun Kelly isn’t a story most would have expected heading into this year’s VMAs.

Following McGregor’s post-incident comments downplaying the scuffle with MGK, UFC president Dana White also suggested the altercation was nothing serious. Speaking to reporters following Tuesday’s Dana White’s Contender Series event, White revealed that he’d spoke to both men following what he described as a “misunderstanding.”

“Yeah, I think that it was just a, you know, I talked to both actually. They are all good now. (It was) A misunderstanding or whatever it was. But I think I saw two of them, you know, I think TMZ grabbed Conor and Conor told them, there’s no problem between them.” (h/t Sportskeeda)

The UFC kingpin further stated that incidents like the VMAs scuffle are just what happens in the “fight business.” When asked about McGregor’s latest antics, White suggested he can’t focus on one person’s actions when he has hundreds of “lunatics” under contract in the UFC.

“Guys, this is the fight business. I got 700 fucking lunatics under contract here. What do you guys think? These are the things that happen sometimes. This isn’t Microsoft. We’re in a crazy fucking business. We all know Conor’s personality and you know, we got some guys that are like that. These guys are fighters and this is the fight business and crazy shit happens in the fight business,” Dana White said.

McGregor is currently in recovery after suffering a brutal leg break in his last appearance. In the UFC 264 main event, the Irishman’s trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier ended in anticlimactic fashion after the gruesome injury.

Nevertheless, McGregor is clearly not having trouble keeping himself in the headlines. Whether through his questionable interactions with the likes of Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov on Twitter, or public arguments with the biggest names in the music industry, MMA’s biggest star remains the talk of the town.

Conor McGregor has reportedly been sliding in Megan Fox’s DM’s.

The Irishman got into a surprise scuffle with Machine Gun Kelly at the VMA’s on Sunday.

It was originally thought McGregor tried to approach MGK to thank him for supporting at his last fight. The rapper and his girlfriend, Fox, were in attendance at UFC 264. ‘Notorious’ was pushed away by security working for Kelly, and this may have caused McGregor to spill his drink. The former dual-weight UFC champion gathered his thoughts before launching a drink at MGK and Fox. McGregor even threw a punch before the fracas was broken up and both men entered the awards ceremony.

According to Extra host Billy Bush, the ugly incident was caused by the UFC star sliding in the DMs of the Hollywood actress.

This is something that would line up with what McGregor had to say immediately after the incident as he denied any knowledge of the singer except for the fact he dated Fox.

“Absolutely nothing (happened),” McGregor said of the bust-up with MGK. “I don’t know. I just showed up and I don’t know. I don’t even know the guy to be honest with you. Just rumors. Nothing happened with me. I only fight real fighters. People that actually fight. I certainly don’t fight little Vanilla Ice white rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

This is not the first time McGregor has overstepped with someone’s significant other. In the build-up and aftermath of UFC 264, the Irishman accused Dustin Poirier’s wife of sending him unsolicited direct messages on Instagram. McGregor also made disparaging comments about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife in the build-up to their fight at UFC 229.
