All-time boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been keeping busy in retirement by taking on multiple exhibition bouts. The 45-year-old US-born athlete has participated in four exhibition boxing fights, with one more scheduled, since his final professional fight against UFC fighter Conor McGregor in 2017.

Since he retired from professional boxing in 2017, Mayweather has faced kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa, YouTuber Logan Paul, sparring partner Don Moore, and RIZIN fighter Mikuru Asakura. Upcoming later this year, the American boxer is booked against Deji, a UK celebrity YouTuber, on November 13.

However, exhibition fights will not be forever for Floyd Mayweather. According to Global Titans CEO Uday Singh, the 50-0 boxer is looking to put his unblemished record on the line and step back in the professional boxing circuit again, but they’re looking for the right opponent. Singh spoke with Insider.com and said:

“We do have plans to do a real fight which is not an exhibition fight with Floyd and someone else next year. We’re looking at Vegas as a venue, and that’s somewhere next year after October. We already talked and will announce names a bit later. These are very big names as we’ve had interest from a few people like Conor [McGregor] and Manny Pacquiao.”

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather had one of the biggest fights in boxing history when they fought in 2015. The US-born fighter has taken two fights in the Japanese MMA promotion RIZIN, and last month Pacquiao and Mayweather were photographed together at a RIZIN event alongside the organization’s promoter Nobuyuki Sakakibara. Sakakibara also worked with PRIDE FC.

Floyd Mayweather keeping busy making good money in exhibition matches

While professional boxing will be on the table soon, Uday Singh does admit that exhibition matches have been quite lucrative for the retired boxer. Speaking to Insider.com, he explained that for Floyd Mayweather’s last bout against Moore he made 25 to 30 million dollars. In his next fight against YouTuber Deji, Mayweather will see “Up to 30 million dollars.” According to earlier reports, for his two fights in RIZIN, the 45-year-old boxer has been pocketing 10 million dollars each.

The CEO Singh adds that they will happily re-enter the boxing business but it must be with the right business partner. He added:

“When we’re talking to anyone, we’re talking one-year, two, three, four, or five-year partnerships … We do have things like Jake Paul fighting Deji on the cards, Jake Paul fighting Tommy Fury on the cards, and that’s going to be an e

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has been labeled a ‘mosquito’ by former MMA star Bob Sapp, as he tries to goad the former eight-weight boxing Champion into a lucrative exhibition bout.

Although Pacquiao is set to face off in his first exhibition boxing event against Youtuber DK Yoo, now the Filipino native is faced with a very different offer.

The former MMA legend Bob Sapp not only weighs more than double the weight of the ‘PacMan’, but he also towers over Pacquiao by a whole 8.5 inches.

Despite the evident disadvantage, Sapp is confident he can work out a deal, as met up with Luis Singson a former confidante of Manny Pacquiao at the EDSA Shangri-La to make a video, which was covered by abs-cbn.com

In the video ‘The Beast’ can be heard calling out to Pacquaio urging him to take the fight while taking shots at the size of the 43-year-old.

“Manny accept this fight. I’ll treat you like a mosquito,” Sapp exclaimed.

“I’m in shape too because Manny … He may have a shot at me just like keeping a gun right here and shooting at me. But I’m a tank; it’s just going to bounce off.”

What would mean a fight between Manny Pacquiao vs. Bob Sapp mean?

In spite of the fact, that this bout has a slim chance of materializing due to many factors this has not stopped people surrounding Pacquiao from convincing him otherwise.

Even the current Narvacan mayor, Pablito V. Sanidad Sr even stated: “I will talk to Manny. I think Bob is best for him.”

The argument for what’s best for Manny Pacquiao is not necessarily to find a more suited opponent for his age, however, the situation of a fight that could generate a lucrative return.

“[The Philippines] is the only place where he will earn a lot. They say that the fighting in the exhibitions where he makes money,” Sanidad continued.

With both fighters coming from different fighting disciples, in addition, to the gaping weight differential, this fight has the potential to send shockwaves around the boxing and MMA worlds as there would now be a modern-day David versus Goliath.

Manny Pacquiao’s son, Emmanuel Pacquiao, has suffered a major upset defeat in his fourth amateur boxing bout.

Although Manny Pacquiao himself might be done boxing, his bloodline certainly is not. Recently, Pacquiao’s son, Emmanuel Pacquiao, began his own journey in the world of boxing. He started off with an unblemished 3-0 record as an amateur.

However, that all came to a close recently, as Pacquiao was defeated by Chris Smith from the Irish Center in San Fransisco. It’s said that Pacquiao was involved in some heavy exchanges and fought well throughout the contest.

However, when it was all said and done, the judges awarded Smith the decision victory. Of course, being the son of one of the greatest boxers of all time, Emmanuel Pacquiao is sure to face a ton of scrutiny.

With that being said, he’s only competing as an amateur at the moment, and as he’s stated in the past, a professional debut does seem to be in the cards down the line.

“At first, I was just quietly going into it and stuff, but I guess it’s unavoidable. I’m trying my best. I have to get used to it,” Pacquiao Jr. said.

“I’ve constantly been training. I’ve been training for months [in the US], and this is all I want: get more experience, get better. “I think we’ll see in the future whether I will turn professional. Right now, I’m just trying to get better, to get more amateur fights, bring my record so we’ll see in the future.”

Pacquiao Jr.’s career is only getting started, and he has a wealth of knowledge in his corner. If his father’s experience wasn’t enough, he also works with legendary coach Freddie Roach, as well as boxing megastar Canelo Alvarez.

It’s even a possibility that his father, Manny Pacquiao, returns to boxing, as his bid for president in the Philippines was unsuccessful.

Boxing great Manny Pacquiao has made his retirement from professional boxing official.

There had been speculation regarding Pacquiao’s future in the sport of boxing, with reports that the legend was considering retirement. Tuesday, the future Hall of Famer made it official with the following video.

Here is some of what Pacquiao had to say in the video (h/t Yahoo Sports).

“It is difficult for me to accept that my time as a boxer is over,” Pacquiao said. “Today, I am announcing my retirement. I had never thought that this day would come. As I hang up my boxing gloves, I would like to thank the whole world, especially the Filipino people, for supporting Manny Pacquiao.

“Goodbye, boxing. Thank you for changing my life. My family was desperate, you gave us hope. You give me the chance to fight out way out of poverty. Because of you, I was able to inspire people all over the world.”

Pacquiao will now look to express that gratitude by serving the people as the president of The Philippines in 2022 but not before leaving behind a remarkable legacy in boxing. SportsCenter has joined the growing list of those saluting Pacquiao for his legendary career by citing just a few of his unique achievements.

Earlier this year, there were rumblings of a potential fight between Pacquiao and UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Those talks would die out following McGregor’s loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

Pacquiao’s career ran for a lengthy span of 26 years, where he accumulated a total of 62 victories.

The WBA Welterweight Title showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugas is in the books.

Earlier tonight (Aug. 21), Pacquiao and Ugas shared the ring. Ugas put his welterweight gold on the line. The action took place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was clear early on that Pacquiao would utilize an aggressive style as he didn’t want to stay on the outside against Ugas. Ugas found a home for the jab but Pacquiao would also return fire with combinations.

In the fourth round, Ugas was warned after landing a low blow. The two continued to trade leather with counter jabs. Ugas had success with the double jab.

Ugas continued to land clean shots with the right hand. Down the stretch, it became clear that Pacquiao knew he had to push the action.

The bout went the distance and the score totals were read. The scores were 115-113, 116-112, and 116-112. All three judges scored the fight for Ugas.

After the fight Ugas said he wants to unify the welterweight titles. When asked specifically if Errol Spence Jr. is on his mind, Ugas said that’s the fight he wants next but he wishes the WBC and IBF Champion a speedy recovery from his retinal tear. The other champion is WBO titleholder Terence Crawford, who is soon to be a free agent after his next fight, potentially against Shawn Porter.

Manny Pacquiao said he doesn’t know if he will be boxing again. He also said he’ll make a final announcement on whether or not he will run for President of the Philippines.
