UFC 200 was the promotion’s chance at making a huge statement to the sports world. The milestone pay-per-view card had some highs and lows with Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor being moved from the event, but another rematch in Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones 2 was inserted. Unfortunately or everyone involved, the dramas would start smack in the middle of the three-card fight week. Jeff Novitsky of USADA would announce that ‘Bones’ had failed a drug test, and the scandalous story of UFC 200 began.

The MMA community lamented the loss of the UFC main event. Although Anderson Silva would step in to lead the charge at the top of the card, we all knew it would never be up to the mammoth task on three days notice. The historic card was somewhat restored, but only temporarily. USADA would strike again, but only after the lacklustre UFC 200 card had transpired.

Lesnar’s Impact

World Wrestling Entertainment superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt in the co-main event at UFC 200. The damage of the 137 strikes landed on ‘The Super Samoan’ showed as a swollen Hunt paid respect to the returning Lesnar. That respect would be short-lived, and soon turned to resentment and anger. Lesnar too was revealed to have failed not one, but two drug tests.

Hunt would lose his cool, many would argue understandably, taking an aggressive stance against the UFC and USADA. During a number of explicit rants the disgruntled ‘Super Samoan’ scorned his employers and their dope testing partners for giving Lesnar the opportunity to ‘try and kill him.’ To make matters worse, the UFC would not fine Lesnar, and thus squashed Hunt’s request for remuneration from the WWE star’s record $2.5 million purse.

USADA

What will likely make this whole saga even more infuriating for Hunt an his fans is a report published by Marc Raimondi on MMAFighting.com this morning. The article explains in length how USADA could has expedited Lesnar’s two positive test results to have them back in time before UFC 200. This procedure incurs extra cost, but could well have saved Mark Hunt a night of punishment from a man he later described as a ‘juiced up gorilla.’

USADA did not get the test result back until July 14, according to the UFC. That time frame between the sample collection and the result returning is standard in the industry.

However, USADA could have gotten the results back quicker had the agency requested it be expedited.

Lesnar’s sample was sent to the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory. Anthony Butch, the lab’s director, told MMA Fighting through a spokesperson that expedited results can return in anywhere from two days to a week. The cost for an expedited result starts at $35 per sample with the cost rising for weekend and holiday testing. The maximum is $450.

Mark Hunt’s expression says it all…

The report indicates that there’s no guarantee that results will come back quicker with expedition, but they certainly won’ without at least a request. Given USADA’s waiver of Lesnar’s four-month standard testing window for new or returning athletes, would an expedition on his test results on fight week have been prudent? Pretty sure we know what Mark Hunt would say.

It’s been three weeks now since the festivities of UFC 200 went down. The promotion set out to put on their greatest show to date, but a number of unexpected occurrences saw the event steadily slide down hill. In terms of overall entertainment UFC 200 could not deliver, at least not to the high standard expected. The event took some big hits during fight week and after, making the memory of the highly anticipated event seem so much more sour. First off it Was Jon Jones who delivered a staggering body blow to UFC 200.

The current interim and former undisputed light-heavyweight champion ‘Bones’ was yanked from the event on Wednesday of the July 9 fight week. The three-day run of live UFC shows hadn’t even got underway yet and already the promotion was dealing with crisis. Failing a USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency) test dating back to June 16 meant ‘Bones’ was replaced by Anderson Silva. The troubles of UFC 200 were far from over.

Lesnar body slams the UFC

Returning from five years away, ex-heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar took on one-punch knockout artist Mark Hunt. The WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) star turned up at the weigh-in looking in his best condition yet. Physically Lesnar was huge as always, but ripped to shreds too. ‘The Super Samoan’ voiced his suspicions about potential steroid use, but the fight went ahead. Lesnar won a convincing decision, but the worst was yet to come.

Once again the Elliot Ness of the UFC, Jeff Novitsky and his ‘untouchables’ USADA had claimed UFC 200’s biggest remaining star, albeit days after the fight had transpired. Hunt was furious, first calling for all of Brock Lesnar’s record-breaking $2.5 million purse, then taking a stand against the UFC and kick starting a fighters union at the same time.

Hunt’s continued anger

Hunt was beside himself with rage, both regarding Lesnar’s failed test but the overall treatment from the UFC since July 9 and the lack of deterrents for offenders. The mandatory two-year ban was not enough argued ‘The Super Samoan,’ also raising the question of criminal charges if he were injured or worse. After explicitly condemning the promotion and their practice, Hunt also revealed he’d likely never fight for the UFC again.

Well now there’s been more from Hunt on the issue, as per his official Facebook page, as he blasts USADA for stopping by and testing him.

Check it out:

“Don’t fucken waste my time with your bullshit testing ok why are u even testing when u fuckers don’t do shit about it take your out of competition testing and stick it up your ass cheating motherfuckers what a bunch of wankers”

Then, responding to a fan who questioned his status, Hunt continued his rant:

“Shut up idiot u don’t know shit wats the point if testing wen there isn’t really any harsh penalties 2 years ban is bullshit if the guy cheating had killed his oponent would u still think 2 years was a good enough penalty you’re a moron shut your mouth dummy they should lose all the money be banned for life and go criminal court”

“Idiots like (you) don’t understand its jus a matter of time before someone dies and u think your stupid ass would be still talking like that stfu dummy”

UFC heavyweight, Pride FC veteran and former K-1 world champion Mark Hunt has really been there and done it in the combat sports world. His exciting one punch knockouts make ‘The Super Samoan’ a huge draw among fans, and he has been quite the Cinderella story since joining the UFC, at least for a time he was. After facing Brock Lesnar at the historic UFC 200 card on July 9, things have taken a drastic turn.

Lesnar was revealed to have failed a dope screen by USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency) on both June 28 and July 9, the day of their fight. Having won a convincing decision over Hunt and took home a record-breaking $2.5 million purse, Lesnar’s drug scandal has enraged fans, but one worse than ‘The Super Samoan’ himself.

Brock Lesnar UFC 200 Weigh in

Lesnar’s shredded physique had many eyebrows raised before UFC 200. He was visibly bigger than seven years ago at UFC 100, and as he creeps up on 40 years of age his opponent Hunt is suspicious in pre-fight interviews. Initially after the fight ‘The Super Samoan’ was typically respectful as usual. Once the bad news on the WWE superstar was revealed though, Hunt declared he wanted all of Lesnar’s purse or a release from his contract with the UFC

It appears Mark Hunt has seen enough cheating and underhanded tactics by his fellow fighters, having fought three fighters that have failed drug tests either before or after the fact, or both. Appearing on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani this afternoon, ‘The Super Samoan’ furthered his call to fighters to join his union. He also makes some seriously damning statements about the UFC, USADA, Brock Lesnar and anyone who thinks it’s OK to ‘juice’ and fight.

Fair warning: This interview is not for the faint of heart as Mark Hunt does not hold back at all.

“All these people who follow that piece of crap cheater are saying ‘why are you still talking about it? It’s OK to cheat,’ Listen here; all these boys and girls who want to be prize fighters just stick a needle in your ass and you’ll be fine!”

“I reached out to Dana to ask him what’s going on, and they aren’t doing a damn thing. What if I get really badly hurt or die? He’s a cheater, Brock is sticking needles in his arsehole, they should go to court for it. Who’s gonna look after my kids if I die against one of these cheaters?”

“That’s how these dirty cheaters win titles, they are all cheating, they aren’t clean. At this moment I don’t want to be a part of this company unless they do something about this sh*t. They are not doing anything about it.”

“If you are gonna make this a cheaters sport, lets all cheat, we’ll all stick needles in our arse and see who dies first. To be honest I don’t know why they gave him the exemption, it’s like he’s walking in to the octagon with a gun. Someone could die because someone was cheating.”

“There’s no way that white monkey is gonna make 265. Then when he gets caught then they throw me under the bus? You f*cking cheaters should all die in a fire, f*cking kiss my arse. I’m thinking maybe (the UFC) knew.”

“Why did they give him the exemption? They were just like ‘let’s stick this juiced up monkey in there for a big fight.’ Then the fool had his own press conference. People are scared because of what the company says, f*ck the company. They don’t care about you!”

“I’ll probably get a firing message from the company, but f*ck them, the company is a bunch of scumbag. They made enough money from our blood for years. The worse thing about it is I get sh*t from these steroid using monkeys, are you gonna look after my family? C*nts.”

“They should get sued and go to criminal court. I’m considering legal action. F*ck the UFC, bunch of c*nts, motherf*ckers, f*ck you fire me for that!”

“Trying to start a union is hard, but I can’t carry on fighting cheaters. It’s a bunch of cheaters and crooks. We need all the fighters to get together, this is about the future of the kids who look up to us as fighters. The UFC just thew me under the bus, they don’t give a sh*t about us.”

“It’s time for us to stick together, these companies don’t make nothing without us, they make no money without fighters. It’s gotta be done, somethings gotta be done. I’m not interested in working for a company that throws you under the bus. They are all cheaters, f*ck em’”

“Sooner or later someone is gonna die, are they just gonna let the other guy walk away if he gets caught doping. This is up to the fighters to make it better. Why would you want to get in the UFC when everyone is cheating anyway?”
