It’s well documented that Mark Hunt’s relationship with the UFC hasn’t been perfect over the last few years, and it doesn’t seem to be improving.

A few weeks ago, Hunt was pulled by the UFC from his scheduled main event bout with Marcin Tybura at the upcoming UFC Sydney card. The promotion cited health concerns as the reason for pulling Hunt after “The Super Samoan” revealed health issues he’s been dealing with in a piece he wrote for the Player’s Voice.

Hunt, however, recently said that he’s passed all his medicals, and he feels as if he should be able to fight. He also said that he’s going to be losing quite a bit of money due to the UFC’s decision:

“A journalist rings me up and says, ‘You’re not fighting in Sydney,” Hunt told ESPN recently. “I had to check to see if it was true. I was really upset by that. I’ve lost a lot of money on this camp, and losing this fight will cost me over $1 million. I had plans for that money. I have taxes to pay. To hear it from a journalist – they could have called me themselves.

“And the thing is, I didn’t know why they pulled me. I still don’t. I’ve passed all the medicals. I’d like to know the reason I’ve been put on the sideline.”

Continuing on, Hunt listed a few other choices the UFC has made that he feels could be labeled as questionable, while once again indicating that he should have been able to compete in Australia:

“There’s nothing in the results that says I can’t fight. . . The UFC says they’re acting for my well-being; why did they put me in the Octagon with all these cheaters, then? Why are they letting Georges St-Pierre fight again when he’s talked about seeing aliens? They just let a guy fight with a staph infection last week. If they’re worried about our well-being, why did they do all that?”

In regards to the ‘cheaters’ he mentioned, Hunt is currently suing the UFC, Dana White and Brock Lesnar due to the fact that Lesnar failed a drug test surrounding their UFC 200 bout.

Do you agree with Hunt, or did the UFC make the right decision?

Mark Hunt is still extremely upset with UFC President Dana White after being pulled from the UFC’s Sydney card next month (Sat. November 18, 2017) from the Qudos Banks Arena in Sydney, Australia.

The decision to yank him from the card came after reading his article for Players Voice in Australia. He was previously scheduled to take on Marcin Tybura in the main event, however, after reading Hunt’s comments the decision to pull him from the card was made. Here’s an excerpt from Hunt’s article:

“My body is f**ked but my mind is still here,” Hunt said. “I’ve still got my senses about me and I know what’s right and wrong, which is the main thing. Sometimes I don’t sleep well. You can hear me starting to stutter and slur my words. My memory is not that good anymore. I’ll forget something I did yesterday but I can remember the s**t I did years and years ago.”

In response to being pulled from the card Hunt went on an expletive-filled rant on Instagram bashing UFC President Dana White. “The Super Samoan” later claimed that his words in his article were taken out of context and that the real reason he believes he was removed from the card is because he has an ongoing lawsuit against the UFC.

Hunt is suing the UFC and former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar after “The Beast” tested positive for performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) following their UFC 200 co-main event meeting. TMZ recently caught up with Dana White to get his reaction to being bashed by Hunt on Instagram. Here’s what he had to say (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“He’s always going off on me,” White said.

“Listen, sometimes you gotta protect these guys from themselves and that’s what we’re looking into right now. He made a statement that I’ve hated him forever. I don’t hate Mark Hunt at all. I never hated Mark Hunt. He knows that. I was actually really good with Mark Hunt.”

“I don’t expect an apology at all, no.”

UFC President Dana White told TMZ Sports on Thursday the company decided to remove Mark Hunt from its event in Sydney next month as a medical precaution.

“Sometimes, you gotta protect these guys from themselves and that’s what we’re looking into right now,” White said.

The decision to pull Hunt from his scheduled bout with Marcin Tybura and replace him on the card with Fabricio Werdum came after the 43-year-old penned a piece for PlayersVoice titled “If I Die Fighting, That’s Fine” that detailed his medical woes.

“My body is f–ked but my mind is still here,” Hunt wrote. “I’ve still got my senses about me and I know what’s right and wrong, which is the main thing.

“Sometimes I don’t sleep well. You can hear me starting to stutter and slur my words. My memory is not that good anymore. I’ll forget something I did yesterday but I can remember the s–t I did years and years ago. That’s just the price I’ve paidthe price of being a fighter.”

Citing medical concerns, UFC announced Tuesday that Hunt had been removed from the card in Sydney, according to ESPN.com’s Brett Okamoto

Hunt responded with a profane Instagram post (warning: NSFW language) in which he referred to White as a “peice of s–t motherf–ker” and a “bald headed prick.”

In January, the New Zealand native filed a civil lawsuit against White, UFC and Brock Lesnar after Lesnar failed drug tests following a unanimous-decision victory over Hunt at UFC 200. The result has since been overturned to a no-contest.
