Sean O’Malley has spoken out for the first time since suffering defeat at UFC 252 against Marlon “Chito” Vera. Speaking on the Timbo Sugar Show podcast, O’Malley detailed the events that occurred on fight night.

The bout ended in a Vera securing a first-round TKO over O’Malley, however, many believed this came due to an injury that O’Malley had sustained in the fight.

Regarding the result O’Malley expressed that while he is disappointed to have lost it did not matter the circumstance, Chito won.

“He won, it sucks for me because I’m like, god I lost to someone who I look at as not very good. I look at him and I feel like, he’s not that good and I fu***ng lost to him.”

The formerly undefeated fighter expressed that the camp leading up to the event was perfect and everything seemed to be going well on the night.

“Even in the back warming up, everything was perfect.” Said O’Malley. “I’m in good shape, I’m in Fu****g good shape, I’m breaking this fu***r 100 percent in my mind. Get back there doing out warmup everything is going perfect, about five minutes before they said alright you’ve got to walk I’m like hey Brandon do you reckon you can loosen up my ankle brace? It’s like Fu***ng tight, walked out, everything felt good. Got in there, was in front of him I’m like, in my mind I’m like this is easy. He’s slow, he can’t hit me.”

O’Malley continues explaining the pain he could feel in his leg felt the exact same as the pain from his previous foot injury. “I remember the pain that I had in the top of my foot, the lisfranc surgery. I had the same pain but all around my ankle and I remember dragging my foot up against the cage and even still didn’t feel in danger.”

Since the event, many viewers and analysts have broken down the fight determining that the injury came from a kick thrown by Vera, throwing away any doubt that the win was not genuine.

‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley claims he has been “humbled” after suffering his first pro defeat at the hands of Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at UFC 252 this past weekend.

O’Malley met Vera in the co-main event of UFC 252 on Saturday night. Despite what was an even contest on the feet for most of the fight, O’Malley would end up injuring his ankle which ultimately led to his demise.

He would eventually slip on his own feet and end up receiving ground and pound from Vera before the referee quickly put an end to the contest in the first round.

As a result, O’Malley suffered the first defeat of his professional career as he was carted off following the fight.

Post-fight O’Malley took to social media to show appreciation for all the well wishes coming his way.

“Love y’all ???,” he wrote on Twitter.

It didn’t take long for O’Malley to recover from his loss and get back to his old ways. ‘Suga’ can be seen in his latest Instagram post-playing video games and smoking a joint while surrounded by beautiful women as he heals up. The caption says humbled but we don’t think that is really the case – check it out.

UFC Bantamweight Marlon “Chito” Vera believes he should face former champion Dominick Cruz in his next fight.

Speaking to Ryan Galloway in a LowKick MMA exclusive, Vera explained why this matchup makes the most sense for him following his recent controversial loss to Song Yadong.

“I think Dominick Cruz paper wise make the most sense. We are like two or three rankings apart, he’s coming off a loss, I’m coming off a loss. I feel that’s the perfect fight to make right now.

Vera also shared that he would be interested to face Uriah Faber should he decide to fight again.

“If Uriah have the balls to actually fight for real instead of just making a show for weigh-ins and acting like a guy that will do it any time, he won’t. He’s broke. his last fight he got destroyed and I’m sure he don’t want to get that feeling again because he don’t train anymore. But if he got the balls to do it one more time, I’ll put him out for sure. I will send a message to him ‘Hey you don’t belong here anymore’. But that’s not the main focus, he is doing it for the social media. He have a team, he have a name so he has to do it so often just to stay relevant so I get it.”

When asked, Chito shared how he believes a fight with Cruz would play out.

“I think I put the pressure on him, and I break him. I’m a younger better version and I still have enough tools. His wrestling is pretty good so if this fight goes to the ground he’s not going to hold me there I think I can tap him out too, I’m pretty confident that I can beat him up in the stand-up and on the ground so I hope that fight happens.”

At this stage, neither Vera nor Cruz has scheduled opponents or dates for their respective returns.
