MFC ANTONIO MCKEE THE CHAMPOn Friday night, Maximum Fighting Championships lightweight champ, Antonio McKee (25-3) remained undefeated in seven years going 11-0-1 in that time span.

It only took minutes for McKee to end the fight and keep his title against Brazilian Luciano Azevedo at last nights MFC 26: Retribution event. While in Azevedo’s guard, McKee opened up with a couple of vicious elbows that opened up a nasty gash on Azevedo’s forehead.

Azevedo quickly turned calling out for a stoppage, giving McKee a TKO (doctor stoppage) victory at 3:11 of the first.

McKee told the fans that he’s looking for some stiffer competition in someone like BJ Penn or Sean Sherk in the future.

“Like I told Mark Pavelich, if I don’t get this sucker out of here in the first or second round, I’m retiring. So guess it’s not true, you can teach an old dog new tricks,” McKee said after the fight. Never at a loss for words, the 40-year-old fighter didn’t stop there.

“I don’t fear anybody. I’m waiting for the UFC to release B.J. (Penn) or Sean Sherk so I can tear their ass up too.”

Five years ago Ryan Ford’s goals and priorities were much different than they are today.

Back then he didn’t have anyone to answer to but the man in the mirror and his motivation for bettering himself was to help plead his case for parole.

Having grown up straddling the poverty line while raised alongside his younger brother and sister by a hard working single mother, Ford was enticed by the gangster lifestyle, partially due to the fact that he lacked a male role model in his life, partially because he grew up without and partially because he had been fooled by Hollywood into believing that being a criminal can be glamorous.

A lifelong athlete, Ford, who was a standout on the high school gridiron and track, was recruited along with a handful of his junior football teammates to be debt collectors for a powerful drug dealer in his hometown of Abbotsford, British Columbia. Although none of them had criminal pasts besides minor brushes with the law as teenagers for being, well, irresponsible teenagers, they were far from being thugs. But because they were a tough, muscular brood and they knew how to bully and to intimidate – skills they developed on the football field, they figured, why not make some easy money using their physical assets.

The problem was, they were all young and none of them really knew what they were doing aside from what they had seen the guys in movies do and they proved just how little experience they had being criminals as they botched a collection visit in which a small-time dealer who owed their boss a substantial amount of money was assaulted in front of his wife and children while the three men searched his home for the cash and drugs. The man’s wife escaped the house and called police from a relative’s home and the trio were caught as they fled the scene.

Antonio McKee is just way ahead of his time. At least that’s what Antonio McKee says in the above video with your boy Marcos from FightHubTV.com. In fact, though this interview is ostensibly about McKee’s upcoming MFC lightweight title defense against Luciano Azevedo, much of it is just Antonio McKee explaining why it’s OK for Antonio McKee to do many of the things Antonio McKee does. This includes but is not limited to both his wrestling-based fighting style — which McKee assures us is the wave of the future — and his liberal use of the N-word, which he says we shouldn’t be offended by because … well … it doesn’t offend him

“I’m just the baddest nigger on the planet, you know?” McKee says at about the :55 second mark. “For those black folks that I offend when I use the word nigger, let me explain this right now to you. Nigger is not a bad word to me. Where I come from, nigger is a term of endearment and loyalty and brotherhood … I want to let you know now, this fight here is about putting on a show. So, if you see me out there wearing my monkey suit doing my monkey dance, don’t be tripping, alright?”

OK, we’re not tripping, though McKee’s reasoning about why we shouldn’t trip seems pretty flawed here.
