Julian Lane, Mike Perry

Former UFC fighter Mike Perry and former The Ultimate Fighter participant Julian Lane faced off for one final time before their matchup at BKFC KnuckleMania 2.

Perry and Lane’s previous faceoff yesterday at the pre-fight press conference included Perry pulling out a toy bat. The two welterweights are looking to get back in the win column following recent losses.

Perry and Lane also brawled at a recent BKFC Fight Night event in Tampa, FL. This fueled the fire behind the promotion booking the matchup for just a few months later.

Watch Perry and Lane’s heated faceoff below.

Mike Perry And Julian Lane Face Off Ahead Of BKFC KnuckleMania 2

Perry lost two of his last three fights in the UFC, including most recently against Daniel Rodriguez last April. He was released by the promotion and fought in a custom rules match against Michael Seals at Triller Triad Combat, earning a split decision victory.

Lane has traded wins and losses in BKFC since first joining the promotion back in 2019. He lost his most recent fight via a unanimous decision against David Rickels last October.

Also on the BKFC card will be the return of former UFC featherweight title challenger Chad Mendes, who will be making his bare-knuckle boxing debut against Joshuah Alvarez.

BKFC has signed several former UFC fighters over the past year. Perry, along with former female fighters Paige VanZant and Rachael Ostovich, has begun the new chapters of their fighting careers with BKFC.

Perry seems intent on making this new boxing venture into a long-term deal, and a win over Lane would be the first step to do just that. At 30 years old, he remains in the physical prime of his career and could be a potential star for the promotion.

Former UFC fighter Mike Perry and former The Ultimate Fighter participant Julian Lane nearly came to blows during the BKFC press conference ahead of their fight.

Perry and Lane exchanged their fair share of trash talk during their pre-fight presser ahead of their fight at Knucklemania 2 this weekend. The two have been on each other’s nerves for months, including an all-out brawl cageside at a recent BKFC Fight Night event in Tampa.

What was initially a verbal affair between Perry and Lane nearly turned physical as Perry pulled out a toy baseball bat and got up to walk towards Lane. But, security was able to intervene and separate the two sides as the presser came to a close.

Mike Perry Pulled Out A Bar For His Faceoff With Julian Lane

Perry signed with BKFC following losses in four of his last five appearances in the UFC. This includes most recently in a unanimous decision defeat to Daniel Rodriguez last April at a UFC Fight Night event.

It was unclear what Perry’s future in combat sports would be going forward before he fought at a recent Triller Triad Combat event, winning his bout. He would then sign with BKFC in hopes of a new chapter in his fighting career.

Lane will enter the BKFC cage after trading wins and losses with the promotion. After falling in his BKFC debut against Leonard Garcia, he would go on to earn wins over the likes of Jake Bostwick and Tom Shoaff.

Perry and Lane will compete in the BKFC’s welterweight division and have a chance to move up in the title conversation. Both men are looking to get back on track after recent losses, and their added heat at their pre-fight press conference is sure to entertain fans.

Mike Perry, Jake Paul

MMA manager Ibrahim Kawa thinks former UFC fighter Mike Perry should be Jake Paul’s next foe in the boxing ring.

Perry is just weeks removed from his win over Michael Seals on the Triller Triad Combat card, which featured MMA fighters paired up against boxers. He won the fight via split decision.

Perry and Paul have a bit of history, stemming from the two of them training together earlier this year. The two sparred against one another in the ring, before things turned hostile and the two of them sparred on social media.

Paul most recently knocked out Tyron Woodley to remain undefeated in the boxing ring. It’s unclear who he’ll fight next, but Kawa believes Perry should get serious consideration.

Mike Perry’s Manager Thinks Perry Is Jake Paul’s Fight To Make

“Would like to remind the world that [Jake Paul] hasn’t fought a boxer yet but [Mike Perry] has and won,” Kawa tweeted. “I’m just saying, Perry vs. Jake might be the fight.”

After losses in four of his last five UFC fights, Perry signed with Bare Knuckle FC and is expected to make his promotional debut sometime next year. It’s unclear who his first opponent in BKFC will be.

Perry has conveyed interest in both MMA and boxing in recent months. At 30 years old, he’s still arguably in the physical prime of his career and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down his activity.

As for Paul, he’s most recently called out Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal for fights. However, with those two currently under UFC contract, he may opt to fight Tommy Fury who was supposed to be his original opponent before Woodley stepped up on short notice.

Mike Perry has made his bare-knuckle debut at little sooner than anticipated.

On Thursday at  BKFC Fight Night: Tampa, Perry was talking with the commentary team of Sean Wheelock and Chris Lytle about his switch from the UFC to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

During the conversation something is thrown at ‘Platinum’ and it hits him directly in the face. TUF legend and BKFC fighter Julian Lane was the culprit and he continued to hurl insults at Perry in the immediate aftermath. Perry, who is never shy when it comes to a scrap, removed his headset and darted towards Lane before the two men started brawling.

Check out footage of the incident…

Mike Perry Is Trying To Get His Career Back On Track

‘Platinum’ was once one of the most exciting prospects in the UFC, known for his wild fighting style and serious knockout power. After starting his career with 11 wins and just one defeat, Perry has lost 7 of his last 10 fights and was recently let go by MMA’s premier promotion.

Perry got off to a great start to life outside the UFC at Triller Triad Combat when he beat professional boxer Michael Seals by split decision.

The former UFC welterweight prospect has also signed a contract to compete in BKFC and it now appears Lane is the first man he will bang with in the bare-knuckle boxing ring.
