UFC welterweight contender Mike Perry is set to become a father to a baby boy. His girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez has announced the good news on social media earlier today, she wrote.

“surprise everyone! We are going to be parents. We can’t wait to meet our baby boy. I’m glad I get to have my person by my side to go through it all, he has been so helpful with me during my pregnancy i’m so blessed. If you have anything negative to say stay out the way. We are so excited and we don’t need any of your negativity. I love you Michael Perry! #January12th”

Perry also took to social media to celebrate the news by posting a video of the couple finding out the gender of their unborn baby – alongside the video ‘Platinum’ wrote the following.

“It’s all cool boy but nothings as cool as you. Reign King Perry Gonzalez ! I hope and pray this life is everything you desire and nothing you don’t. Now we both owe queen @latorygonzalez our lives ! #OneOfAKind #Son #Babyboy #GenderReveal #LivingTheDream”

This good news comes on the same day it was revealed Perry’s ex-wife had tried to put out a restraining order against him due to him threatening her with violence.

MMA Junkie obtained court records that show Danielle Nickerson sought a protective order against Perry earlier this year after the UFC fighter made several threats to physically harm her and destroy her property. Nickerson accused Perry of disturbing behaviour and also said he made threats against her on three separate occasions. The judge failed to provide a protective order because Perry had not physically assaulted her.

The 28-year-old is coming off an impressive win over Mickey Gall. He will be forced to sit out for a while due to an incident at a Texas restaurant that saw Perry accused of assaulting three people. The UFC has gone on record to say they won’t be offering the popular welterweight any fights until he has undergone some type of rehabilitation program to combat his ongoing issues.

Danielle Nickerson, the ex-wife of UFC welterweight Mike Perry has alleged he threatened her on several occasions with physical violence.

MMA Junkie obtained court records which show Nickerson sought a protective order against Perry earlier this year after the UFC fighter made several threats to physically harm her and destroy her property. Nickerson accused Perry of disturbing behaviour and also said he made threats against her in three statements.

On February 8, 2020, unknown location: “Michael Perry, my husband, verbally threatened if I were to stay at the house he would ‘beat my ass.’” On February 8, 2020, unknown location: “Michael Perry, my husband, followed me to the house highly intoxicated screaming at his mother to have me come outside. When we both refused he said, ‘Well then I’ll go home and burn the house down with the dogs in it.’ Police pulled him over in the neighborhood after he peeled out in the house’s grass yard.” On March 3, 2020, Rachel’s Strip Club in Orlando: “Michael Perry, my husband, was under the influence of heavy alcohol and unknown drugs, was caught cheating, stated he paid to have ‘Brooke suck his (expletive)’ in the private room. Told me to ‘file the papers, (expletive). I want a divorce.’”

Judge Alice L. Blackwell ruled against Nickerson on for the following reason. “Under Florida law, general relationship problems and uncivil behavior are not domestic violence. … Verbal threats, without more, are not domestic violence.”

This is the latest issue to arise in the personal life of Perry. The 28-year-old is currently in trouble with the law after assaulting three people at a restaurant in Texas. The UFC has said they will not be offering Perry a fight until he’s completed some type of treatment plan to address his ongoing issues.

Popular welterweight Mike Perry has begun training with middleweight contender Yoel Romero in South Florida.

Perry picked up a win over Mickey Gall last time out with just his girlfriend working his corner. Post-fight he expressed a desire to find some elite-level training partners to help take his game to the next level. Romero is someone ‘Platinum’ was specifically looking to work with and Perry even spoke about relocating to Miami to do so ahead of a fight with Darren Till at middleweight, he said.

“I mean, she likes California but we like Florida too. South Florida has got a lot of good guys and I kinda want to work with Yoel Romero. I want to get some beef inside of myself to feel that 185lb weight class. I wanna learn how to fight one of the best guys there so I can fight a middleweight Englishman (Darren Till). You know who I’m talking about. I want to fight that guy. He doesn’t deserve to have his name come out of my mouth. He’s a despicable person. I can’t lie, I’m not that big – I need to feel that. I do want to train with Yoel Romero, he knows I want to come out there. We have the same management team him and Jorge Masvidal.

“I just want to get better so I can build for us and Platinum Martial Arts. I know I gotta look and out and find some more experience and it’s time for that now. We want to do that, we are probably coming to Miami bro to be honest with you. So, I look forward to training with Yoel.”

Perry took to social media over the weekend to reveal he had been taking part in “terrorizing workouts” with Romero. Check out the photo he posted to Instagram below.

Till and Perry have been exchanging heated words in recent weeks after the former’s antics on social media. Till notably mocked Perry’s new girlfriend and also made a website dedicated to him — and not in a positive manner.

“Platinum” hasn’t received those actions well and even went as far as saying he would be willing to go to jail if he could lay his hands on Till in public.

That said, he will be supporting Till when the latter faces former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in the UFC Fight Island 3 headline this weekend.

Only there is a slight catch.

Till Doesn’t Believe He Will Ever Fight Perry

Despite the animosity Perry has for Till, the Liverpool native doesn’t believe they will ever end up fighting inside the Octagon.

And that’s not because they’re currently in different divisions.

“I think it’s just because he’s got a new girl and stuff that probably little bit offended his sensitivity, but that’s the fight game, mate,” Till told BT Sport recently. “You have to be able to take it all on the chin and he obviously can’t, so he’s talking like next time he sees me, he’s gonna poke me in the eye or something. Come on mate, we both know that’s not gonna happen. I’m 6-foot-2. I’d lift him straight off his feet but I don’t take offense to it. Let him take offense to it, mate.

“I hope he does well. I hope he gets the fights he wants. He’s never going to fight me. I’m fighting contenders, former champs. He needs to worry about his path first, before he starts worrying about me because he ain’t getting that fight.”

Middleweight contender Darren Till has opened up about his ongoing beef with troubled welterweight Mike Perry.

Many believed Till and Perry were friends after the pair famously went for a “spar” in 2018. However, the budding friendship quickly soured and the two fighters have been going back and forth on social media for some time now. Things got particualry ugly when Till made a crude joke about the girlfriend of Perry, something he didn’t find funny at all.

In an interview with BT Sport ahead of his fight with Robert Whittaker this weekend, Till commented on his relationship with Perry, he said.

“It was time, nothing to do, one training session a day. We were all bored out of our minds. I thought, ‘How can I make this a better experience for everyone who follows me?’ so everyone knows I was having jokes with the champ and that, then having jokes with Mike Perry, took it the wrong way. That’s all I did, and I’ve got a good sense of humor and I know how to write things and word things.”

Perry has since talked about Till only to say if they ever cross paths they will fight but ‘The Gorilla’ warned his rival against trying to get physical as things will not go well for him if it does, he said.

At one point the two men seem destined to face off but now it appears unlikely. Till is concentrating on fighting the best middleweights in the UFC while Perry remains unranked at 170lbs.
