Jake Paul ready to 'End' Mike Tyson in their sanctioned summertime scrap on July 20: 'One of us has to die'

Jake Paul is ready to put his life on the line when he goes toe-to-toe with the baddest man on the planet, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

The two generational talents will return to the squared circle on Saturday, July 20 for a professional boxing bout scheduled to air live on Netflix and emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

During an appearance at the Formula One Grand Prix in Miami on Monday, ‘The Problem Child’ took things in a decidedly dark direction after the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation officially sanctioned their scrap as a pro fight.

“It’s an honor to be in the ring with him, but I have to end him,” Paul said. ‘’It’s war. All is fair in love and war. I love the guy, but as soon as it turned into a pro fight, one of us has to die. He’s a legend. I love the guy. But at the end of the day, it’s war and you just have to go to war and put it all on the line. I still have the utmost respect for him, and I think he’ll say the same about me and what I’ve done for the sport.”

Paul will be stepping into the ring for the 11th time in his career. Thus far, he is a solid 9-1, though a majority of his wins have come against a series of ex-MMA stars and no-name boxers who had been out of the game for quite some time when they agreed to fight the YouTube star.

His lone loss came via a split decision against Tommy Fury in February 2023.

As for Mike Tyson, the former unified heavyweight world champion has not competed in a professional bout since a 2005 loss to Kevin McBride. Overall, ‘Iron’ is 50-6 with 44 of his wins coming by way of knockout.

In 2020, he returned to the ring for an exhibition match with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr, fighting to an eight-round draw.

This time, Taylor will put her unified super lightweight world championship on the line eight months after taking the gold from Chantelle Cameron at Dublin’s 3Arena.

“They’re just going to say, ‘He’s old and you disrespected him,’ and all that s—,” Paul said on his YouTube channel. “But I just want to make it clear: Mike Tyson was the one who wanted it to be a pro fight. Mike got into training camp and called up people on my team and were like, ‘Let’s do a pro fight, is Jake down?’” Netflix was like, ‘Let’s make it a pro fight, we’re down.’

“And I said to [MVP co-owner] Nakisa [Bidarian], ‘If that’s what Mike wants, that’s fine. But make sure you tell Mike that there’s no holding back. Whatever happens, happens and this is war now and if Mike’s okay with that, then I’m okay with that but I want Mike to be the one making this decision.’ I’m going in there, and now it’s a pro fight, it’s on my record, I’m going to f—ing put him down. And if people are pissed about it, then watch soccer,” Paul continued.

If Paul does KO Tyson it would be a statement-making performance from him. However, some fans are still worried about the fight due to the age gap between the two.

YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is done with punching bags. Instead, he’s honing his skills using Soundcloud rappers.

Earlier this week, ‘The Problem Child’ welcomed Lil Pump to his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast. Halfway through the interview, the ‘Gucci Gang’ musician asked Paul to punch him in the stomach as hard as he could, just so he could experience the sensation. Paul was happy to oblige and donned a pair of boxing gloves.

They climbed into a ring and Lil Pump raised his arms, ready for the worst. Paul didn’t hold back, unleashing a left to the body that sent the mumble rapper crashing to the canvas and yelling in pain.

“I told you not to do it!!” Paul quipped as Lil Pump continued wailing.

Questions surrounding Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson continue to dominate headlines

Jake Paul is hoping for a similar result on July 20 when he returns to the boxing ring for a clash with former unified heavyweight world champion ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The bout is scheduled to emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — home of the Dallas Cowboys. The fight will also air exclusively on Netflix to its 260 million subscribers around the world, marking the first time that the streaming giant broadcasts a live combat sports event.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Expected to be one of the most watched fights in combat sports history, the announcement of Paul vs. Tyson immediately earned criticism from pundits, the key issue being the massive age gap between the 27-year-old Paul and the 57-year-old Tyson.

Given the 30+ year difference between the two, many questions continue to surround the bout’s sanctioning. No official announcements have been made, but early rumors suggested that the two parties were aiming to have the contest sanctioned as a professional bout rather than an exhibition match.

However, a potential ruleset being passed around on social media claims that the matchup will be contested in 16-ounce gloves with two-minute rounds and no official judges. There would only be a winner if a KO or TKO occurred.

Potential rules for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Whether or not any of that proves to be true is a different story.

Mike Tyson confirms July bout with Jake Paul is an exhibition bout this is a fight

Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson has confirmed his July boxing return against polarizing puncher, Jake Paul will be an official exhibition bout afterall – defending the pairing, despite reports claiming the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation were fielded a potential sanctioned professional fight in Arlington.

Tyson, a former world heavyweight champion and devastating knockout puncher, confirmed, along with Paul, their massive boxing fight in ‘The Lone Star State’ this summer last month – with the duo set to fight at the AT&T Stadium, with the bout broadcast on Netflix.

And revealing some more details on his fight with Paul this summer, Tyson claimed despite the booking of an exhibition bout in Texas, his clash with the Ohio youngster would be a real “fight”.

“Listen, this is called an exhibition,” Mike Tyson told Fox News. “But if you look up exhibition, you will not see any of the laws that we are fighting under. This is a fight.”

“You know, Sean (Hannity), I have a weird personality,” Mike Tyson explained. “I don’t think it’s weird though – whatever it is I’m afraid to do, I do it. I was scared for the Roy (Jones Jr.) fight – I was scared to fight the guy, I was 100 pounds overweight. I was, however, old, 54, 53, and I said, “et’s do it.’ Anything that I’m afraid of, I confront it. And that’s my personality. And right now, I’m scared to death. But as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become, because it’s reality, and in reality I’m invincible.”
